  1. Woooo, now that's a cute house - and snacks? Yeepee!
  2. Great entry, Bodi I love how both your ships turned out. My favorite part is how you attached the spanker boom on the Marderian sloop. Keep up the excellent work! Vive le Roi!
  3. Ach... I can't see the house that's your Eslandian military for all the Brickwalls it has... or better: had Splendid entry, Garm - it has it all... and a boat I love how you always make it look so easy to build rocks-and-jungle builds - and you also enjoy them! To me they are more like almost insurmountable obstacles - like brickwalls... well, maybe that's not the best analogy given how many of them were actually torn down lately
  4. Yeah, that stern turned out well. I kind of want to see this translated into a whole ship now - would be a waste if you didn't go for that Also, nice continuation of Emile's story - can't wait for the next chapter. Keep it up!
  5. Wowwwwww!! Please, Kai, never ever get back to your comfort zone - this build is just too fantastic I'm loving all about it - the buildings, the streets, the action... and of course the cartoonish blobby monster ()... and the water effects - hmm... yeah Spectacular entry!
  6. Breshaun has reached the status of Large City - the City of Light is leading the way once again - Glory to Oleon! To celebrate, the following coat-of-arms will represent the city's grown reputation: All other Oleander settlements now also possess individual coats-of-arms, which will be expanded with each level they grow. Vive le Roi!
  7. Here's a sample of that bluerender pink sky phenomenon/bug: Bluerender renders its baseplate and sky as two separate entities, by default they are both white. Starting at... I don't really know where and why (it may be related to its SunFlow engine)... everything above eye-level (= the sky) turns into this hideous color. Haven't encountered any solution to this. The standard workaround is to simply 'look down' on your MOC, even if only slightly, so you don't see the bluerender sky. The other option is manual color adjustment using something as simple as Paint.
  8. My condolences to your brave heroes. They all died for a noble cause - and their ultimate sacrifice won't be forgotten. And each of them is gonna be just another Brickwall-brick in the Brickwall-wall
  9. I can only repeat what has been said before - this is a great build with lots of clever details - absolutely worthy of a royal license! The only thing I find slightly off is that the floors are just two plates thick, I would have liked to see around the same thickness as the part where the outer facade is attached to the inner wall. And I'd have loved to see some imperfections in the soldiers' movements - slightly different angles of hands/arms/heads/legs - this is truly annoying work, but adds a lot of charm, as it doesn't look so copy-pasted (and no, I'm not falling for that COR soldiers = perfect 'argument' ) Maybe some helpful LDD tips - if you don't already know them: Crashes of that tiresome software are a true nuisance - I could fill a lot of MOCs with all the progress I've lost over the years Well, to increase performance, once LDD gets unstable you should uncheck the option 'outline on bricks' (under edit/preferences), this should give you a few thousand parts more to add. On the other hand, this makes building much more annoying. Also, try 'hiding' the parts (L) of your build you're not not working on - this should also boost performance. And before you save, hide the whole build. This usually gets me up to 30.000+ parts without too much trouble - if there are no flexible parts involved. If you use POV-Ray instead of bluerender, you can actually combine multiple lxf-files in one render. The trade-off in this case is that the rendering time skyrockets... especially with transparent parts involved... Using bluerender, you can change the direction the light comes from by turning the whole build in 90° steps, if you don't want to mess around with the scene.sc file (or create individual copies for each MOC). And that gap you have in the render between your overview build and the scene's 'surface' can be undone by slightly moving the whole build, in case there isn't a single plate somewhere stuck under the baseplate. And lastly, if using bluerender you move your builds 'over the horizon', you'll surely encounter the pinkish sky issue... unfortunately, there's no cure for that - just stay under the horizon as you did here, or you'd have to manually clear the sky Keep it up! Oh... and welcome to the dark side
  10. First rum, now beer... if this continues one of your next MOCs should be a rehab center Nice idea with the basement, KotZ. Missing that rabbit, though Keep up the good work!
  11. Wooohoooo, attack of the veggie Kraken Very cool micro build, indeed
  12. Greeeeat diorama and fighting scene(s), CW Those troops look splendid, especially the Marderians, and their diagonal line-up on the battle field/beach adds to the overall epic look of the whole build. Aaand another Brickwall bites the dust...
  13. Very cool build, good Sir. I'm a big fan of that little creek and your water depiction. And the (two!) artistic scenes are top!! The pic with the rider is especially appealing - creepy shadow effects. Keep it up, Sir!
  14. Yeah, nice entry - I really like the beach you made using those slopes And the moral of the story: courage itself doesn't get you over a palisade wall - so better bring ladders next time Corries fighting Eslandians... is this a glimpse into an unavoidable future?
  15. Yeah, great ship, Maxim - definitely a worthy and fearsome addition to the Eslandian fleet Pretty cool hull piercing monster, too, and a clever story tying the ship to the contest. Keep it up, Lord Damaximus, and good hunting!
  16. Thanks to all for your kind comments, glad you like it Yeah... definitely a pain - placing these darn figs probably took almost as much time as building the whole keep One of the cool aspects of digital building is the absence of gravity - boom, headshot! Well, it's well known the Marderians can be cruel and reckless beyond measure... I wouldn't say it's anti-Eslandola... There are brave soldiers, a cunning plan, great initial success... but it is as Brodi said - sometimes the will of a single man can change a lot of things. However, it was the cruelty of the Marderians that made the difference here - not sure this is such a positive trait. Oh, you
  17. Fantastic entry, Franco, a truly terrifying beast My favorite part is the head of the monster munching its way through the ship, the way you managed to build the neck around the head... and that tentacle destroying the ship's stern The guy running down the monster's head - hilarious Just one thing - some renders would make this whole creation shine even more Keep it up!
  18. That's one hell of a long peeeeeeeeew Nice entry - love the ship cross-section and that battery Oh, and throughout all Eslandian entries, a lot of high-ranking personal seems to be named Brickwall... must be a very influential family with a long military tradition. Of course you would say that
  19. Ahoy, mateys! Here's my Challenge V - Category C entry. Witness the return of the Colonial MinionsTM *evil laughter in the background* Don't Tread on Meeeee!! After their unsuccessful attack on the Marderian fortress of El Peñón, the remaining Eslandian Black Bats were ordered to refresh and regroup on the Southern shores of the Isla de Medio - away from the awful fighting. Unfortunately, no place is really safe from the mayhem those dreadful Colonial MinionsTM are capable of spreading wherever they happen to show up. And as it so happened, they did. Of all the places in the Brick Seas it had to be here. Exactly now. And the camp the Eslandians had set up was right in their way. Well, actually, more in the pathway their latest pet decided to take... Seemingly a fish in a wet suit. What exactly it is and where they got it from, no-one really knows. One thing is for sure, though - it's ridiculous in every aspect. And yet terrifying enough to turn the feared Eslandian crack troops into a bunch of screaming chickens as they are trying to escape the incomprehensible menace that's coming down on them... About: I absolutely wanted to mobilize the Minions for this category, there was just too much potential here to forgo this opportunity The idea for the 'monster' is based on the Futurama reverse scuba suit - ridiculous enough to be translated into bricks. As usual, all can be built - and maybe I'm going to build this land fish thingy for real... a friend of mine said it'd be a worthy decorative object for her flat... well... I hope you enjoyed this latest chapter in the Menacing Minions Book. C&C welcome! Vive le Roi!
  20. Category B - Keeping the Keep - For Mardier Category C - Don't Tread on Meeeee!! - For Mardier Category D - Fish from Above - For Mardier Category E - The Conquest of Paradise - For Mardier
  21. Greetings, fellow BoBS'ers, I'd like to present my entry for Challenge V - Category B. Keeping the Keep El Peñón is a strategic Marderian stronghold overlooking the Bay of Good Hope. Although not a large fortress, El Peñón is nonetheless a vital part of Mardier's defenses around the town of Terra Fin Tin. Carved deep into the rocky cliffs, El Peñón is virtually impenetrable - a fact that's also known to the Eslandolian High Command - and giving them major headaches. The joint Eslandolian and Garvian assault plan provides for the surprise capture of Terra Fin Tin in order to open up a second front north of the fortress city of La Puebloto. And in order to achieve that, El Peñón had to be sacked quickly before any Marderian reinforcements would render capturing the fort impossible, ultimately putting the whole second front plan in jeopardy should Mardier's forces around Terra Fin Tin be alarmed before the actual assault was to begin. To solve this problem, one of the Eslandian elite units, the Black Bats - a veteran battalion experienced in spearhead missions, and infamous for their recklessness - was tasked with the surprise attack on El Peñón. Initially, the mission progressed as planned - the approach was not spotted by neither Marderian patrol vessels nor lookout posts along the coastline. And another pleasant surprise: when the boats landed, it became clear that the fort was undermanned. Now nothing stood in the way of a quick success. Or at least so it seemed... What they hadn't expected was the courage and relentlessness of the fort's commander. Before the perimeter guard was overrun, coronel Lorenzo Alderete stepped outside the gate in a desperate attempt to buy time, telling his men to barricade the entrance behind him. He then proceeded to furiously charge the attackers. The coronel managed to repel man after man, giving the garrison valuable time to regroup and send for reinforcements. The artillery lookout then spotted the approaching Eslandian fleet and the fort's batteries started engaging - thus completely ruining the attackers' element of surprise. Shortly before coronel Alderete was mortally wounded, he yelled out his final order to the garrison - to drop a load of explosives onto himself and the attackers. El Peñón was not to be captured! For Mardier! Some additional pics: About: Well, this started out with the simple need to come up with something for this category at all... and unfortunately, a massive builder's block. Eventually, the block loosened, and thanks to the support of @Bodi and @Captain Genaro, I even managed to put in some action. What else... well, as usual all parts except the uniforms exist... gravity is 'off'... can't think of anything else now Thanks for watching, C&C welcome! Vive le Roi!
  22. Hmm... it really seems we live in post-fact times... As LS just corrected the first bit of fake news, here's some more: ESL auctions off captured licenses - the subject in question here is a MOC ESL members pay 20% less for these licenses than foreigners ESL warship licenses are only available to ESL members NAM trade-vessel was captured by a joint anti pirate force, the last KPA was a bit... flawed... so this might have just been a pirate, and even if not, OL does indeed have beef with NAM after they captured our ships in the past - so even if all you said was true, it'd be a legitimate act I'll leave it at this, and refrain from getting into an evaluation here #checkyoursources
  23. Don't worry, Bodi, this discussion has really nothing to do with you selling your ship, it just derailed at some point No complications for you, though. You are still free to accept any (Oleander ) DB-offer, or take that of the RNTC to receive a share of preferred stock. Keep 'em ships coming!
  24. @Bodi I quite like the configuration as is - an armed Terraman. But the decision would be the RNTC's. Of course you can always wait for more lucrative offers than actually having to pay to sell the ship
  25. @Bodi Wow, nice looking ship indeed - that stern is very pretty!! I'm sure you won't have trouble finding a buyer for her. But as Maxim said - you could easily license the ship as your own - financing won't be a problem. You can also sell the ship to the RNTC to earn the right to purchase a share of preferred stock for a little over 50DB. This will grant you access to all company ports - one ship per share. This should become increasingly important in the future. For more details read here, and/or ask @Captain Genaro
