Moc Lego 16mm Scale Lady Anne Narrow Gauge Locomotive
JopieK replied to jamesed_1971's topic in LEGO Train Tech
@kieran: Indeed it is big! The biggest one I've ever seen in LEGO bricks! (@zephyr, a great idea to make rods for XXXL sized trains maybe ;))- 4 replies

but crossings are also available aren't they?! and your idea is nice, one could use an arduino or something to accomplish that!

Looks great indeed!! Very appealing colors! (Let me know if I can help you out with the logo's, see my signature).

Hi Pacha, welcome to Eurobricks!! We have a dedicated Train Tech forum where most of the train fol(k)s reside! I have asked a moderator to move the topic there. Those duplo trains surely are strong!!! Very neat Duplo train layout!

Titles are in Dutch but you'll get the idea! ;)

That makes much more sense! But then the whole article is wrong of course!

http://metro.co.uk/2...igures-4781747/ He might have been recruiting extras for the next Lego movie, but he wasn’t. This toyshop employee stole thousands of Lego figures selling them on his own online Lego store, even stealing specific characters to order. Petr Botek stole 6,100 Lego figures worth an estimated £15,000 from a toyshop in Kladno, a city in Northern Czech Republic. Botek would look through Lego box sets for the most popular and priciest figures before resealing the boxes. This ongoing thievery was found out only after the toyshop owner repeatedly received complaints from customers claiming the Lego boxes were missing figures. The owner went straight to Lego who informed him that due to his being the only store who was experiencing such issues that it must be someone at the shop stealing the plastic toys. Czech Police then took over the investigation who successfully tracked down Botek and his deception. Police spokeswoman Jana Steinerova spoke of the crime: ‘The figures can’t be bought individually because they come as a part of different sets. ‘But officers found that the shop worker had been taking individual figures and was selling them online in his own private Lego store.’ The crooked toyshop assistant faces 5 years in prison.

Greenpeace is also a terrorist organisation, I have seen "pandora's promise" that is a good movie that provides reasonable evidence that can be checked on how such an organisations work and that they are not environmentally friendly at all. Apart from that, Shell is also a company that has a lot of crimes on it's account I'm sure. I'm much in favour of being environmentally friendly and also support better organisations like WWF but the Greenpiece people are just extremists in my opinion. Some smart people were also already remarking that LEGO would have other reasons to be friends with Shell (plastics production), although there are experiments with plastics from seaweeds...

There was an brief article in "Railhobby" (April issue), a Dutch model railroad magazine. They have a bridge between IR and the radio modules, very smart, that way you don't need to modify any LEGO except maybe a connector to get the GPS module powered. The system is also usable for Mindstorms and model railroads. The concept was explained here as well: http://www.masterpiece.dk/UploadetFiles/10495/1/GB_20_januar.pdf

Position and automatic play of many simultaneous trains An AFOL Group in the LEGO Community has asked us to provide as wide as possible the same facilities with positionng and radio control for LEGO trains as we demonstrate for Model Trains and Faller Cars. The project was initiated autum 2013 and the prototypes of the trains with these facilities build in were demonstrated in Nuremberg 2014. The trains can operate using exact the same PC- and Position system as well as tablets and smartphones and voice for control. Multiple trains can operate together, will be positioned on the screen, and will run automations, stop for signals and obey all other manual or automatic commands. The total system including the control of the turnouts and the signals is expected to be finished in April 2014. But right now already a great play is available. It all works without disturbing any standard LEGO components. You can still run the train using your normal IR-controller. http://www.gamesontr...icleGuid=164203 I like the concept, it will be pricy I think and it has been April already :)

Hi Mark, welcome to Eurobricks, why don't you also introduce yourself. Note: we have some rules here to keep the fora neat and tidy, please also read those, but above all enjoy your stay in this great AFOL community!

that would work indeed I guess! making your own PCB is quite a challenge if you are totally new to microcontrollers etc. so I would definitely start with an Arduino (actually an Arduino UNO, it is large, but helps you to understand the Arduino and then use an Arduino clone like this (or a Teensy, they are also very nice). Alternatives are Attiny based arduino like boards.

Great job! Hope to see them for real next BeLUG meeting ;)

you clearly didn't have an academic education TheLegGodt ;) (in other words: have often been to places where they ask pointless questions just for the sake of knowing ;))

Now also in LDD: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showforum=128 I think I have it 97% accurately, there were some issues with the locomotive though that I could not figure out.

[KEY TOPIC] Official LEGO Sets made in LDD
JopieK replied to Calabar's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
4000014 - LEGO Inside Tour 2014 Train Theme: (Other) LXF file (LDD 4.3.8): download Inaccuracies: - The printed bricks with "132" are missing (supposed to go on the locomotive). - Sign should have a sticker with LEGOLAND Billund on both sides. - Left child has an inaccurate torso (should be a surfer shirt) - the 3rd figure from the right should also have a different torso Comments: I have recreated the train from the partslist and images that are available as of June 21st. I am sure there are a few issues with the locomotive as well, there seems to be a plate built seat, and the rear of the locomotive does not have two panels like mine has. I think it is between 95 - 97% accurate though. Would appreciate if people that have the set would give some advice on how to make it 100% accurate!- 5,046 replies

yups they let it be produced by (probably) different printing companies. You can easily tell with some stickers that they use different techniques and qualities.
-
the numbers aren't stickers but printed. Apart from that, I think LEGO should have included more tracks indeed. Good reason to introduce narrow gauge straight tracks.
