Try to make a new version of LEGO Train Poster
JopieK replied to freestorm's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I agree freestorm! Maybe Draw is indeed better for this! -
Try to make a new version of LEGO Train Poster
JopieK replied to freestorm's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Well, you could render it using Bluerender and use LXF files as a basic? And photoshop of course! -
I have the C922 from Logitech and it works great! You can set the focus from software, quality of both video and sound is great. Some weeks ago I used it to broadcast a funeral service from about 50 meters away to a friend in the US with it and it worked well, also recording instructional videos with it works great!

I like the Logitech camera's, they work great. But I use macOS. Interesting that Microsoft does not seem to be able to support their own products? https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware-winpc/lifecam-vx-6000-no-longer-works-in-windows-10/143d026a-a387-4473-ad60-611a6d7616cc?auth=1

Lego World 2017 @ Jaarbeurs Utrecht, The Netherlands.
JopieK replied to -zenn's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
I also went to Zwolle very often (with a layout). Last year I went to Utrecht, but although my nieces, nephews and friends, and I enjoyed ourselves, it is not really an AFOL event anymore like LEGO World Zwolle.- 7 replies

"Either the domain has been overused, or the reseller ran out of resources" that would give a clear cue wouldn't it? I think it will be online again eventually.

But train fonts are not the only fonts one need in a Train "Modelling" Environment: http://christianschwartz.com/db.shtml. For older signs, Futura is the way to go!

The rules are simple. Build something with train wheels attached to it that is long enough to look absolutely silly to go through a R40 curve. Both Real Life and Ditigal builds are allowed and both will have their own category. Timespan is the October 1st to October 31st. Head over to Train Tech where the guys of Brick Model Railroader have posted the details and... start building! Looking forward to the great ideas that will come out of this.

Really great job BaraSH! I like the train, but also the rest of the village.

Gauging Community Interest: Printed Hobbit Mini Legs
JopieK replied to theStormCrow's topic in Community
They often use UV printers (that cost about 40.000€+, my solvent printer of 16.000€ was the limit for me), if you can find a printing company that has that kind of machine you can ask them.- 1 reply

Well they are allowed indeed, but Nikitoz, please don't just join to propagate your ideas, no matter how great they are, EB is meant for meaningful discussions.

Just some 9v train automation with Mindstroms NXT 2.0
JopieK replied to keverjeroen's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Looks nice, although I see imminent disasters lurking ;). I control trains with Arduino / Pi, I have some Mindstorms RCX and NXT's lying around for this (the EV3 is busy with other things), but they are quite bulky for train control, although it is a more 'pure' solution, often I just want the job done.- 15 replies

No problem, you can still present you idea etc, but try to make a nice topic and get people involved, not just link to external content :)

Hi JG bricks, see my signature and read what is said about self promotion please. That will keep you out of further trouble.

Well, the new ones are bluish and the the old ones are greenish, that is a fact, but might also do as a joke don't you think?!
-
It looks really nice Brickwulf. I also like your plain and simple open car concept b.t.w. Now only some finishing touches. I might follow your example. I have the heads/cockpits somewhere in one of my train parts containers so thats a start.

Well, Draw is not that user-friendly, is it? And LDD does the job for most things. Apart from that tools like LDCad are not for macOS. Talking about a "stone tablet and chisel", that is also what Windows feels to me (and I'm a windows programmer, or at least used to be) so I don't want to start Windows if not absolutely necessary. LEGO should make LDD open source, then we could enjoy community development and get the best of both worlds by fusing the two.

Well, you can at least do a lot around hard to solve problems etc. by shuffling trains, so there possibly is a potential for that. Probably some other lego enthusiast :)

Sounds like Windows ;) Doesn't mean that Apple never gives one frustrations, but after I switched over about ten years ago, I am much less frustrated. Costs a lot though, but gives also a lot in return. I hate the fact that explorer and internet explorer are so much strangled together, on Mac Finder and Safari are two totally different programs. I do use windows sometimes for e.g. programming chips (and sending print jobs to our sticker machine), but I close it down Windows as fast as I can afterwards.

Hi Mitch, welcome to Eurobricks. Please introduce yourself etc. That helps people getting to know you and help you out. I wanted to make them using our professional printing machine, but appears to be difficult (or I need another machine). There are people that make it. Another tip that I learned is that sunscreen materials might be somewhat similar to the originals.
