  1. Here is the original, looks really nice your LDD version... do you think most parts are available for real (I mean in real bricks!)?!
  2. next step: the EU AFOL events I'm afraid...
  3. only my imagination is probably the limit, there is a whole lot possible (although I think I don't know all possibilities yet). I will have a good look at the original trains first. You did not mean the zig-zag did you?!
  4. I have discussed it with ronenson and will try to also bring out a SD70 compatible version that includes the flags and "building america" :) can take a week or so since I need to work again (vacation is over).
  5. I was, but (as always) only the saturday!
  6. is becoming very nice! I just sent in my LW 2013 enrollment, hope it will become even nicer than Zwolle now that is in Utrecht!
  7. It is interesting that more and more 2014 sets are leaking and we don't have any other hints than the vague speculations like the one from 1974! Of course train sets are often released around the summer so... but indeed it has been a while since we have gotten any city sets. @PeteM: I can live with a pinkish train, but luckily that one has still bley tracks, pink would be quite another story :)
  8. Congratulations Clone O'Patra! @eurotrash: one could say "a clone is never alone" ;)
  9. you better print them on vinyl then of course! If I have time next week I will post more images, but in a different topic since this is a GP-38 and no SD70M :) I have uploaded them to our site b.t.w. but they are targeted to a GP-38, but of course I could make a different sheet for a SD70 with the 'building america' stickers and the flags. There are in fact only a few UP 38 engines that that have the wings to the front, most only have the shield.
  10. looks indeed like different print runs... bad condition the middle one! There are b.t.w. an awful lot of shell stickers in those old sets so it could also be from a non-train set of course. They might also be from: Set 1256 b.t.w. (and maybe others but I didn't find them)
  11. looks very interesting :) you will need a large distance from station platforms though!
  12. It works very nice, part of the educational EV3 set!
  13. Sparkfun has a nice coin slot ;) a minifig version can be found here: (I'm actually working on a non-trademarked version ;)) Link to SFE part: https://www.sparkfun.../products/11636 (it works well, I got one at home for my sec. ed. school)
  14. so Heppeng, how is your 12V level crossing doing?! any progress?!
  15. it will be dangerous though, the NXT might suddenly suffer from the most feared 'ticking brick' syndrome and then people might call the bomb squad ;)
  16. hehe, indeed a very nice idea ;) hope it includes sunglasses if the tracks will be pink :)
  17. The build able version is also still very nice! I found a picture of the original and it looks very much alike indeed!
  18. Your story is b.t.w. not totally correct, there are no US stickers on the original 77xx series trains. These are all the different available logo's on those old sticker sheets: B (Belgian) Brittish Rail DB (German) DSB (Denmark) NS (Dutch) NSB (Norway) S (ÖBB, Austria) SBB (Switserland, <+>) SNCF (French, letters) SNCF (French, old round C) VR (Finnish) Most of them are white on transparent, even some are a combination of black and white on transparent, some are totally black. I guess they used PVC for the stickers in those days.
  19. I don't get a message in Safari... hmmm, we better let him now, it is now and then nice for stickers. I don't get a message in Chrome (OS X) either!
  20. Yups, a diode is a 'one way street' for current... the inductors are just coils of copper, they the magnetic field works just like a motor so it can induce unwanted spikes that go into the wrong direction so to say. So it definitely is in either the inductor(s) or the transistors (be it BC547 or the darlington pair). It could be even the second diode, but I don't think that will be the case. A transistor or an inductor are much more vulnerable.
  21. Well that is very logical of course: The right diode will conduct if you put 12V on plus and the GND to minus. So it basically by passes the whole circuit and current will flow through the lamps and the right diode. If you reverse it the diode blocks the flow so the lamps will stay off. So basically you now know that at least the most right diode works well :) B.t.w. you can 'beep out' the diode of course with your multimeter. Of course you could replace all parts, but it would be best to find out what the problem is first ;)
  22. Very very nice indeed! The yellow flower stems are also nice. They are apparently another part that does not exist (at least according to Bricklink)! Both the coal bucket and slide look very realistic!
  23. Problem was that that old topic was moslty about the whistle kit. Here is the schematic from the other topic: http://en.wikipedia....tion_oscillator After reading the explanation by Mark Bellis, I suspect that the inductors might be the problem. You can of course measure the circuit using a scope and see how it behaves and why it doesn't become a-stable anymore (that is in effect the problem of course). Replacement inductors can be found here: http://nl.farnell.co...mh/pg/110177985
  24. Unless you have a Roland VS-300 in house of course ;) I got the ANWB set when I was a child, my brother got the other ANWB set: http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/2140-1 I have promised an ANWB coworker to try to reproduce at least the latter set stickers (he assured me a lot of his colleagues were interested b.t.w.) I didn't know there was also a TCS version of the older one b.t.w.
  25. Hi Heppeng, I have had the same issue. It is a 'dead' blinker. That happened when I was a teen and did not understand electronics at all. Can you share a picture and/or the schematics?. I suspect it has to do with a capacitor. B.t.w. better to make a new topic for this, this is a useful question and we might also want to index it if the topic will yield any success of course! Update: it is called a "Flashlight Unit 12 V" / x543
