  1. Sweet! I'm surprised there aren't more civilian hover car MOCs like this
  2. That's pretty dickish, why put the employee on the spot like that? It's not their fault you guys are trying to exploit possible loopholes. Like you said, the sign says "not all sets", so a reasonable person would think "hm, I should ask an employee what sets are excluded so I don't make a scene at checkout and hold up the line with my non-sense." But eh, I guess $15 is worth the trouble for some people lol
  3. Lisqr: Please marry me. Also, please share some instructions on how to build this! I would love you forever.
  4. I guess if you just remove the hood's tiles it gets lowered by 1 plate, can't do it otherwise. The air intakes can be lowered though. I think you can add round studs behind the grill if you want, it's just a 1x8 plate behind
  5. Wow, horrible prints, they look like pixelated customs Anyway, thank you for the pictures, this has been very helpful.
  6. Glad you got the refund, shop safely! Yeah, it's because most customers turn into self-entitled douchebags given the chance. Makes it that much easier to not give a crap about them.
  7. If I like the set then I follow its instructions and then improve it. If I don't like the set to the point that I don't even want to bother with instructions, then I wouldn't have bought the set in the first place
  8. You can get close to it if you buy some thin cloth and dip it in a white glue/water solution (I think Mod Podge makes a product specifically for this).
  9. Ok, here are 2 rough drafts of Blade's car Have to lower the rear wheel of this one. A grey rubberband should go around the red tail lights to act as the silver trim. Rims are too small on this one.
  10. That's funny, I was thinking of making the 73 Charger from Burn Notice :) I think Blade's Charger was a 68? The 69 seems to have a nose like this GTO. I'll give it a shot and try to make it look different than the GTO
  11. Still don't have a definite opinion on this. It's scalping if you buy a set just to resell it later for profit, because you know the price will go up due to it being a popular set or whatever. By that definition though, many other things that we do that seem honest and harmless are also scalping. For example, say your grandfather leaves you a box full of very old silver dollars. Instead of spending them you decide to keep them for a while, because the longer you keep them the rarer they become and the more you can sell them for later. You want to use that money to fund your kid's college or buy your family the house they've always wanted. Is that scalping? Is that "wrong"? Or is scalping only wrong when people do it to items others, and especially you, really want?
  12. I posted a quick tutorial on how to spot LEGO boxes that have been opened by scammers who do this. It showed exactly how they do it (I used my 8088 Star Wars and a Ninjago set for the example) and what to look for so you don't get ripped off, it should still be on these boards somewhere, just can't remember what topic. You might find it useful. And while I'm at it- My friend got burned three times already by buying LEGO sets from Walmart that were previously opened. First when he got the Clone Turbo Tank and none of the figures were in it, again when he bought the Jedi Shuttle (is that what it's called?) when he wanted Shakk Ti and the other cool looking jedi guy, again no figures and a quarter of the ship was missing, then again when he bought a recent green castle set with similar problems. Walmart (Target either) won't take returns for that because they know people try this scam all the time (they do it with action figures too). Walmart doesn't care if the box is restocked with missing items even if they know about it (most retail stores are like that, I've worked at a few). LEGO wouldn't send that many replacement parts to my friend because obviously it sounded like a scam and he didn't have any proof of purchase (not like it would have mattered anyway). That's a lot of money wasted on LEGO product with no happy ending. Because of that I never buy boxed LEGO stuff from retail stores, EVER. Instead I deal locally in person with other LEGO fans or with Bricklink because then at least Paypal will protect you with their horribly biased protection plan for buyers if the seller tries to scam you. And no, I'm not saying don't buy LEGO stuff from stores, I'm saying you guys have to take steps to protect yourselves from this kind of hassle. All retail stores do that. Even if the manager instructs the employees on what to do with certain kinds of returns, it's still up to the employees to take the necessary steps. But the problem is many times the employees are so overworked or need to keep the line moving that they just don't give a crap and take any items as they come.
  13. V-LV-41D Yep. Only thing bugging me about this is the nose, I can't add the ridge down the middle. I'll see what I can do if I build it for real. Here are two different noses, I think the wedges capture the car's shape better but the tiles make it burlier. I think the nose and tail are fairly accurate, I also like how the front kinda looks like the barrel of a Desert Eagle from the side Figured a more compact way of adding an adjustable steering wheel (wheel, mechanical clip, 1x2 plate with bar). The interior is bare-bones like the real car. Tried to copy as much detail as possible, like the red floor shifter, red button and gauges, no passenger seat, and even the little fan because the car doesn't have air conditioning :) And here's a comparison with the Mad Max car. They may be black but they look like very different cars which is really all I can hope for from all black cars haha. Edit: Maybe this works for the nose? (The lights are supposed to be able to flip around so that's why they're grates here)
  14. (Update: Will keep updating with parts I have for sale/trade as I find them.) Yar, these are the major pieces I still need. Unfortunately I can't get them all from 1 seller on Bricklink so the multiple orders would cost too much Hoping someone here will have them! I'm in the USA and will ship anywhere with any method you want. 30161 - TRANS-CLEAR (as many as possible) Windscreen 1 x 4 x 1 1/3 with Bottom Hinge 50745 - RED (x2 -other colors okay too) Vehicle, Mudguard 4 x 2 1/2 x 2 with Arch Round 6179 - RED (x1) Tile, Modified 4 x 4 with Studs on Edge 4315 - BLACK (as many as possible) Hinge Vehicle Roof Holder 1 x 4 6014bc04 (as many as possible, rim color doesn't matter) Wheel 11.5mm D. x 12mm, hole notched for wheels holder pin, with Black Tire 24 x 12 R Balloon (6014b / 56890) 6014ac01 (as many as possible, rim color/offset doesn't matter, there are like 3 similar versions of this wheel) Wheel 11.5mm D. x 12mm, hole round for wheels holder pin, with Black Tire Offset Tread Small Wide (6014a / 6015) Stuff I have for sale/trade Most bricks are like stuff you find in your spare parts bin, some scratches, maybe a few discolored ones, many are like new. I'll say they're sold "as is" though. Note that I'm willing to trade in your favor since I don't need these pieces anymore. 15. Yar, kinda stinks having to wait till most likely the tuesday after the next to get the pieces I ordered x_X I'll probably try some water slide decals for the insignia, I tried printing on clear labels but they do a weird thing where the clear areas turn a little opaque once you apply them. No ideas for the next car, I was thinking the Back to the Future DeLorean but there are already some 8-wide versions I like, not sure I could improve them. Also, a neat note about these cars is that you can probably rearrange some bricks in the front end to create a little cavity where you can brick build an engine (or a least greeble). I used mostly basic plates and bricks to make the cars as customizable a possible. ...I still need wheels for both cars though Should probably put up a wanted list in the trading area here for the few pieces I need, ordering them from bricklink will cost too much because the items are scattered around a few different sellers.
  16. Yessss, I didn't realize these cars could sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars so this is the only way I can own one haha I've ordered some pieces for this car, the Mad Max car, my Space Police 3 robot, and a bunch of parts for MOC hammers/maces, only missing a few minor parts for the cars now. The only thing that kinda bugs me is I need the red mudguards for the 'Cuda but black ones look nice in the meantime.
  17. *hi five* I tried to make it as accurate as possible, I think it's easy to add the junk sticking out the back window if anyone really wants to. Yar, sometimes I don't like how flat an all black vehicle looks but I think it worked well for this car.
  18. Figured a way to attach a tile to the back of the roof: It's a 1x6 tile, have to flip it around and it'll "clip" into those black clips
  19. Geez, I'm afraid to think of what the scolding would be if I left out a "p" from apple. Thanks for the support folks Enlighter: It's just the digital designer, it works on mack lol Here's the link: http://ldd.lego.com/ Simple to use, be sure to read how to unlock even more bricks here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=53760

  21. Damn that's a lot of blue tiles lol That shark is on a rock. THE SHARK IS ON A ROCK!
  22. I think you could definitely scale this down for the minifigures, but I don't know what the original model is supposed to look like. Interesting shape, pretty cool!
  23. Looks cool, only thing I'd change is that big bley piece behind the driver, it's kinda distracting. The villain platform is neat, and who doesn't love a tophat xD First thing I'll do if I become a hero is teach my girlfriend how to kick villains in the nards so stuff like this kidnapping doesnt happen
  24. Really? Which are the rare ones? I haven't run this through LDD Manager yet but I'm pretty sure I can build this car. I'm only worried about the Barracuda but I can just change the colors if purple is too hard to find :) Edit: Found some bricks that were kinda rare, thanks for pointing it out :) I changed some colors so now this is easily exportable to bricklink if anyone wants it. First post has the LDD file now.
  25. Yesssss, any suggestions for the next car?
