The Sultan's Plate [Sultan's Gate community build]
qiadris replied to qiadris's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks for all the comments! I have now added a shot with the roof on from the original/main angle, plus all pictures are linked (only the first one was). Yeah, sadly I don't have those pieces in white, and it would be even better if they could match the green tiles, but it doesn't exist in that shade of green :/- 16 replies

The Sultan's Plate [Sultan's Gate community build]
qiadris replied to qiadris's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks! Using this piece to truncate from the trunk and make branches/poles to hold the net in place could be an idea. Thanks! The photography was a bit tricky, because the background I use is the back of a foam map, and it has pin holes, but some image retouching fixed that ^^ As for the wall, that is indeed the case, I'll extend the description and also get a shot with the roof on tomorrow. I use fleshies as elves; in most mythologies they have paler skin color, so it fits perfectly.- 16 replies

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Click on the image to get to the post for this Sultan's Gate build. I would also like to ask if it's okay for me to vote on DoH credits. I haven't so far because I'm a fairly new guild member. -
Built on the back of a crumbling old wall section no longer used, by-product of the expansion of the city, the Sultan's Plate is not the fanciest food joint in the city of Sultan's Gate, but it is one of the most popular. Conveniently located near a main circulation artery, the once dusty warehouse is now a haven for travelers and locals alike. The place is run by Laebon, an associate of Q'adris (the owner), an elf who was crippled in battle decades ago and found refuge and solace in Kaliphlin. What he lacks in muscular capabilities is more than compensated by his excellent social skills. Drop by if you are ever in the city and would like to experience a warm welcome, delicious wine and a fulfilling meal. Laebon Kitchen Overexcited Soldier If you have noticed the studs on top of the walls, those are for the attachable ceiling. For point matters in the Sultan's Gate community build, this build is small (<33x33). I would also like to claim the following UoP DoH credits (3 total): [General Building] Interior Design, [Anthropology] - City Life, [Anthropology] Life in Kaliphlin Edit: Added links to all pictures, added another image with roof

No need for apologies when creating beauty ;) -
"Loosely inspired by the CMF Forest Maiden shield" Loosely indeed, she should be so lucky to see such a beautiful tree

The shape of the gates and the blue/white decoration is just great.

Answering my own question (what sat carries the most tan), Downtown Bakery from Friends has a good number. Some are columns, but there's still a good amount, plus it comes with a bunch of other pieces that I was interested in, so your mileage may vary if you only want tan. -
Impressive work overall. My favorite has to be the river, it feels so dynamic, with a the more calm part with the vegetation, and the flow under the bridge and to the edge, with the 1x1s and studs

Ah, it definitely would be nice to be in the US for Lego prices, but I live in Denmark, and the european conversion of (1€ = 1$) hurts us europeans most of the time. At least the Friends pencil holder / jewelry box can be found for under 15$, but stuff like barrel escape is at over 80$ :S :S I planned to get 1 Mirkwood army anyway tho The Simpsons house would also be a great source of tan, but I doubt I'll part that one out if I get it :D -

I guess it's best to let Erynlasgalen decide, as she's willing to run it. But suggestions can't hurt! :P I don't think we need something as complex and structured as the community castle build, but we could make a non-comprehensive list of suggestions for builds. And definitely agree with having an index. -
Thanks for all the comments @soccerkid6: True, and it would also give it more stability

Sounds like a great idea! I've just dug deep on the threads to find the images for inspiration, so they are easier to access for everyone, with the Aragón post here, and Gideon's later post here. I'd also like to add this image of the Loarre castle I found while looking for more Aragón pictures,
