  1. Wishful thinking, really. I would like to some most of those sets see the light of day, but they won't. TLG is a business. Sure more Bree and Hobbiton would be awesome, as well as more MMV and MVR style sets in both LotR and Castle, but realistically, that won't happen.
  2. While I'd like to see some of those, Rivendell is covered with Elrond's Council, the trolls as you said have the issue of the molds, Beorn's house is too civilian for TLG and the forest realm has MEA and the barrel escape, as well as the spider set. Lake city has one set already, and most likely one of the four in October is also lake town. As I said, unlikely, and for more Hobbit set discussions, we have a different thread for that :)
  3. A way to not be involved in religion would be having temples for one (or several factions) but they should not resemble real world temples, which is what those that want a "church" would like to see.
  4. Besides, it's unlikely more sets for the Hobbit would come out, the current sets cover pretty much everything.
  5. I'm going to guess it was: 30214 - Gandalf Twins - Contains 2 Gandalfs (gandalves?), because you can never have enough!
  6. So many details it's hard to pick a favorite! Windows, door, domes, patterns,...
  7. Brilliant idea with the fish rack.
  8. Awesome! Excellent execution on the stairs, the colours and the door.
  9. Great ruined texture! The puppy set from Friends is inexpensive and packs 4 of those, while the bunny brings six. If you want 4x1, the dog unit comes with 3 of those, and 5 of the 2x1. e: Added more sets
  10. Oh, good to know, added them only as an afterthought (I also had to google LCC :D)
  11. Here goes nothing ;) Bonus! Initially planned to include Velvet in the build, but it got too small >.< so here's a quite small vignette for Velvet, the second-in-command, a flashback from a few years back, when corsairs invaded her employer's villa by the sea in the south.
  12. Q'adris the Merchant | Qiadris | Kaliphlin The Sultan's Plate | Qiadris | Kaliphlin | Sultan's Gate CB
  13. Hello everyone! I present to you Q'adris the Merchant, from the rugged eastern Kaliphlin coast. " ~SPLAT~ Q'adris cleaned his hand of dead mosquito in his coat and resumed examining the figurines. - A shipment of "finely crafted eagle figurines". Hah.- A smile creeps up to his bearded face- If someone had asked me why was I stocking on those last year... Hah. Hope those folks in Mitgardia, in their Eagle Hold or Fortress, whichever it is, enjoy them. He quite enjoyed the refreshing constant fog in the cliffs, compared to the heat of the desert. As a child, Q'adris had been an orphan boy, switching from caravan to caravan, but now enjoyed a life of prosperity as a respected merchant. Even if his methods involved a lot of hard work, stashing merchandise in the caves on the eastern cliffs to avoid taxes imposed by the sheiks." C&C very welcome, as this is my second MOC :p In retrospective, I need a better set up for pictures and specially the angles, to show more, A shot of the not so worked on back. The flag is conveniently inside the cave, since it should be a hidden refuge. Lastly, a shot sans the tree, rock and shipment, as they were stealing the focus.
  14. What would be great is if/when LotR is discontinued, all the efforts that go into it would go to Castle.
  15. Quote of the month.
  16. Something I would like to see would be a medieval city, even though it would belong to a later period than what we are used to. It would be a good chance to include neutral buildings with no heraldry and civilian buildings.
  17. Awesome creation :D Perhaps a flex cable with round bricks ? Slopes and inverted slopes (1x2) would probably look too weird.
  18. Lothlorien gets my vote. Mt. Doom would be too bland as a set. As a 15$ set, you get rock and lava, at 200$, you get more rock and more lava. Lothlorien on the other hand, can start small with just Galardiel's Mirror, and at different price tiers it can be expanded.
  19. A matter of taste, I guess.
  20. Thing is, Castle 2013 has only had one wave, and it is very similar to the Kingdoms first wave (some more expensive sets but with more pieces). The Mill and Blacksmith were the second wave of Kingdoms, and Joust didn't come until 2 years after the first wave, the Medieval Market is from the fantasy era. For the sake of comparison: Battle Pack -> 70400 Forest Ambush vs 852921 and 85292 battle packs and 7950 Knight's Showdown. Vehicle -> 70401 Gold Getaway vs 7949 Prison Carriage Rescue Small Structure -> 70402 The Gatehouse Raid vs 7948 Outpost Attack Evil Lair -> 70403 Dragon Mountain vs 7947 Prison Tower Rescue Good Castle -> 70404 King's Castle vs 7946 King's Castle Castle 2013 sets are more expensive, each being in the next price tier than their kingdoms counterparts (i.e. getaway is 10$ more than prison carriage, gatehouse is 10$ more than outpost, etc..) but of course have more parts, so the brick price rate stays the same (plus Dragon Mountain has the dragon). All in all, the first Kingdoms wave had more variety: the polybags and jester/wizard minis, plus more lowest tier sets (battle packs), but had nothing more innovative than Castle 2013. They in fact cover the exact same items as demonstrate above. A similar comparison can be drawn from fantasy era, if anyone is interested (battle packs, evil lair, vehicle, good castle). So if you think the first wave of Castle 2013 is boring, it just follows the same Lego formula for Castle first wave. By the looks of it, there is an outstanding set or two, but it doesn't come until later (market village for fantasy, mill/joust for kingdoms,...). I guess we'll have to wait ;)
  21. Great work, really alive and fresh. Special mention to the use of different colored plates (like in the watchtower) that can be even seen on the layers of earth (i.e. sand under the path).
  22. I specially like how the red roof and the river are almost the same color, giving it a great symmetry.
  23. Awesome lighting on the first picture
  24. I have to agree, the mini-mini-Orthanc (orthanception?) is great.
