Technic 2020 Set Discussion
AVCampos replied to dimaks13's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yeah, at least military builders will have a field day with this colour. I'm pretty sure it won't be long until @Sariel makes one of his tanks in it. -

What that'd be great in was metallic green instead! -

No, but I remember seeing a few out there on the net. They should be easy to find with a Google Search. -
[APP] BrickController2
AVCampos replied to imurvai's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Doesn't the app ask you to connect the top hub before the bottom one?- 1,316 replies

[APP] BrickController2

I second that, it'd be an awesome feature to have. For example, the phone I'm using for LEGO RC is failing and I'd like to transfer my profiles to another instead of having to recreate them.- 1,316 replies

Not just Technic, all of them had it on the back of the box. That's why I kept those backs of boxes; nowadays it goes all to recycling. -

From the quick investigation I made, I think the Osprey is a military-only craft, so TLG will surely not use that name. I bet more on "VTOL rescue plane" or something like that. -
The geartrains between the functions and their respective motors might be different, though. For example, Grohl's 42099 alternate model also has "only" driving and steering, but he has to use the controlling app upside down because the steering mechanism works in the opposite direction as the official model.

I'm also a bit put off by the price. I'm sure Jetro wasn't comparing your app with the official Control+ and PU from TLG, but rather third-parties like BrickController 2 (which uses a gamepad, which means physical controls) and BuWizz (which was made to control BuWizz bricks but also works with PU), both of which are free.

42112 Concrete Mixer Truck

I see it being interesting for GBC, but only if the bottom is open for balls to enter (and being closed by other parts in this model). -

Modern supercars have adjustable ride height, right? That was implemented in an official set only once (8297), and would be something to mechanically distinguish this Lamborghini from the Chiron. -

That's a fancier version of Case 3 described in Jennifer Clarke's Demag crane page (scroll to the "Suspension" section), with the extra bits dedicated to bring power from the engine to the wheels. -

A gearbox would indeed be of great help to compensate for a weak motor. Low gear when starting to move, then high gear to maintain high speed. -

The Countach, on the other hand, would be a lot easier to faithfully reproduce using Technic panels. -

I'm not seeing how a LEGO loader can be heavier-duty than the 42030, but I wouldn't mind being surprised. -

Remember that copious doses of imagination are required to associate "Flamingo" and "Elephant" with "42099" and "42100". -

Besides, isn't the City drum too small for a non-entry-level Technic model? So much that it's used as a turbine cowling in the 42052. Is it possible to combine rectangular and trapezoidal Technic panels into a roughly concrete-drum-shaped form? In this age of Technic design, I doubt that a drum would be just "wireframe", like the bed of the 42030-B had to be. -

No, no official concrete mixers before. As for functions, besides the usual steering and cylinder engine, all I see is drum rotation and chute turning/tilting. -

The chute in the back used to orient the outpouring concrete could be considered an "arm".
