I thought I commented on this already, but I guess I didn't. Anyways, nice job Kabel! The roof with the cylinders looks, good, and the shape of the house is very middle-eastern feeling, which is great.

MEC Category C: A Hobbit's Adventure -
Though Bilbo had many adventures after meeting Gandalf, he started out as a normal, respectable Hobbit, who's idea of an "adventure" was to sit in his favorite chair on a cold fall night, with his favorite book, by a warm, crackling fire, with a nice pipe of pipe-weed from the South Farthing. Add to that a good bottle of aged wine from Bree, and everything is about perfect, at least for a Hobbit. Yes, life was good. Phew, I got it done in time. Somehow the deadline crept up on me, and I just realized that it's in two days, so.... I would've entered the other categories, but I just didn't have the time. Today was the only day I could photograph, so I almost didn't enter at all. But I made it, and that's what matters. Anyways, I thought it would be fun to do a little scene in bag end, and I tried to go for a cozy hobbit-hole feel, with the chair and fire and all. There's a few more pics/angles in the album. Thanks for looking, and C&C are welcome! Edit: I just realized that some things got messed up/out of position when I was moving the build to photograph, like the fireplace, and the drawer on the left. So just ignore that...

Ok, cool. Thanks!

Wow, that looks really cool. What is it from?

Whoa, when I saw this I almost had a heart attack... And then I remembered it was for the MEC challenge... Awesome. I would be buying multiples for sure. I know this doesn't really matter, but the price seems a bit high? I would maybe price it more as a $60 set, though I guess the higher minifig count would increase the price a bit. I don't know. But really great job, makes me think of all the coolness we could have gotten with Lego LOTR.

Would you like the Vikings theme to return?
Hammerhand replied to Alfadas's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think we already have had a topic about the possibility of future vikings sets, though it's probably buried a few pages back. But yes, more vikings sets would be quite nice. I would definitely be buying them if they did come out, if just for the minifigs. -
Yes, nice job with the posing, looks really nice. The ground looks a bit irregular however, with the white, gray, brown, and tan. I would suggest one main base color, and then layering smaller plates over the top, rather than several large plates, which tend to divide the ground to much.

Nice build MKJA! I really like all the different buildings, and the roof tiles. The streets with the snow also looks very smooth (in a good way). -
I'm interested!

I know about all that, I've read all of Tolkiens middle earth works, and I've been a big Tolkien-ist/ite for a while. My point is that they're wearing the Uruk Hai helmets from LOTR, which were created by Saruman and his Orc commanders. They were designed to distinguish his fighting uruk hai from the general populace of Orcs and Uruks (granted, it was created for the movies). It's not the Uruks in general that's a problem, it's the fact that they're armored like Saruman's Uruks, which is completely out of place. Those helmets are seen no where else in the LOTR, so they're not just a generic orcish helmet that is used, they're made specifically for those Uruks.

Anybody notice that those are Uruk Hai on the left of Azog? I hope they just used them as a background, and they're not actually in the movie...

Cool build man, I really like the custom cloth(s).
