  1. I think that I'll definitely be having a go at a bobcat. One thing that IO note about the real ones is that they can switch between 4 wheel steer in and skid steer. I imagine that that'd be doable, but the model would have to be bigger I'd have thought.
  2. This may be a stupid question, but why would AAA batteries be able to power more motors than AA batteries? I am prepared to be made look a fool!
  3. 2x 41999?! That'll be worth a mint! You guys must buy the sets and not take them out of the box, thinking of the investment.
  4. Yeah! That's pretty cool! If you search YT for "dancing bobcat" you'll see what I mean.
  5. That is true. I think what I was meaning was that if the little issues were ironed out. I think that a PF functioning Defender wold be a massive hit.
  6. This is super cool! Crying out for PF! It'd be a flier for sure with it's low weight.
  7. Sheepo's LandRover really is a mighty beast, too bad LEGO won't make an official one, you've gotta feel that they are missing out - it'd sell like hotcakes!
  8. Like it! I'd have thought that it'd be pretty nippy with the buggy motor in, yes?
  9. Nah, I'm not into modifying LEGO either. I'll probably have to get some rechargeable batteries sooner or later, but I figure I may just see how many batteries I burn through over the coming weeks. I'll only be powering an XL and M motor for the time being, and mainly in medium sized trucks and 4x4s.
  10. Very cool little loader! Reminds me of the real life ones that they do display shows with, they choreograph moves for them and it's like ballet!
  11. Looks like an interesting project, I'll be keeping an eye on your progress! Must be a real bummer to be away from all your LEGO for such long periods of time!
  12. That is true, but I already bought the 6xAA battery box and also £60 for the battery box and charger seems a bit pricey. Not only that but mounting options for the battery are limited from what I can see and it's also 7.4V as opposed to 9V. Happy to be corrected on any of the above as I'm still learning (hence the deluge of questions lately!).
  13. What are your thoughts on batteries? I have done a little searching around; soe people like the Energiser Lithiums and other like Ni-Mh rechargeables. I'd really like to use rechargeables to cut down on battery expenditure but don't want to compromise too much on performance.
  14. Some of you guys are Technic monsters! I just don't know how you do it, there's no way I could afford, or find space for, the amount of sets you buy! Fair play!
  15. Now that's a sweet little truck. Love the hub caps, reminds me of my old (1970) VW Camper! I must have watched that video 5 times already, awesome filming and I love the slow-mo suspension shots. I'll definitely be having a go at something in a very similar vein when I get my new bits.
  16. That is sweet! You certainly have a knack for making some awesome big rigs, Han.
  17. Man, my Technic buying pales in comparison to some of you guys! I've managed to get the following: 9391 - Tracked Crane 42010 - (Pull Back) Off-Road Racer (literally just been delivered) 42005 - Monster Truck (awaiting delivery).
  18. Seconded. Looks pretty cool to me. I like the studded plate in the back, sets it off nicely.
  19. It's all reliant on funds. Happily though I've got the Mrs brainwashed into thinking that LEGO is a good investment! Not only that, but I've got a Son who's fast approaching the age where he'll get into Technic (he already has a pile of old "normal" LEGO), so there's another excuse! I ordered 42005, looking forward to it, but I'll restrain myself 'til Xmas so I've got something to open when the kids are throwing wrapping paper everywhere!
  20. Cool! With those double engines it kinda reminds me of some of the top fuel competition tractors.
  21. Very cool, especially the way that you don't have many left over parts. For some reason that always annoyed me with some of the official B models - OCD again!
  22. Cool, thanks for the link Horace!
  23. I see, still plenty big enough for a medium sized RC Crawler. I've just discovered the inventory pages on BrickLink! What a stroke of genius that website is!
  24. Sadly some of these really big sets are a little out of my reach at the moment (anything over £100 is hard to justify to be honest), and the ones that are out of production fetch very strong money. I reckon I'm going to buy the Monster Truck (42005). My thinking is that it's got some nice parts that I can use for MOCs that my old studded stuff doesn't have i.e. the new style chunky wheels, ball joints and connecting rods for the suspension and a good handful of lift arms. At £35 from the LEGO shop it seems reasonable (haven't looked elsewhere, but I shall, may be able to find a bargain). Then hopefully into the New Year I may be able to afford a big set!
