Don't worry Aaron, your not the only one. It sucks big time seeing all that track on Ebay . Pity it costs nearly the same to ship as it does the track to get it over the pond. I wonder if they will get an EU supplier in place. Delivery was meant to be last August to backers, we will be lucky to see it by this August. Yet every Tom, Dick and Harry can get their hands on it. But not the peeps who made it happen.

Fantastic review Jim, from the quality of the review alone it is easy to see how much hard work you have put into it. I'm with you on the instruction manual, I much prefer one quality bound book over umpteen stapled booklets. Already have 2 of these sitting in the build queue, one for display model as I'm a fan of this one and one to build the B model then dissemble for parts, so I'm already sold on his set but still very much enjoyed taking the time it deserves to read through the review and ogle at your pro photography.

Tracks look good weavil , @fasterthanlight, these type of excavators have a wide footprint for balance when working with a long boom. -
Serious piracy problem and its consequences
Technic-Kobaltz replied to Sariel's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yes, but these people have bought the book. As Jim says Sariel, don't get caught up on the negative, however any digital book is released or any content for that matter it is going to be pirated, and those who use such content, were never going to buy the real deal anyway. You only end up harming your end consumers who buy your books and have to buy them again if they want them in digital format as well. Unless you buy directly from No Starch Press which isn't an option for many people due to shipping costs. -
Serious piracy problem and its consequences
Technic-Kobaltz replied to Sariel's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Love you books Sariel, good quality content . Lets face it their are not many books out there that cater directly towards Lego Technic so we need to support the quality ones we have. I own both in the ''proper'' format but digital format are always handy for folks on the move or if you have to check out something quickly. Have you or your publisher ever thought about bundling the digital format with the real books? I for one would appreciate this and I think those that buy the real book should also be able to have access to the digital version as well. Roll on book number 3, keep up the good work. -
Great work as always Edwin, sounds like you are going to have another busy year. Are you still sourcing all your parts through Bricklink or are you now able to get them directly from lego? Be sure to let me know if any of your custom sets become available to purchase as the Damen ASD Tug is. Oh and lastly I'm sure this thread will be revisited many times. All the best for your future endeavours.

Where to buy Parts
Technic-Kobaltz replied to Beck's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Any time I check Lego Shop at Home Bricks and Pieces against Bricklink the are always way more expensive, that's if they have the required parts at all. Maybe it depends on what type of parts you are after. -
Generic Contest Discussion
Technic-Kobaltz replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
How about including a prize in every contest like the current contest for something outside the top 3 in order to encourage others to get building. I feel there are many that are put off due the very talented builders that we have here. Not only their building skills but their photo/video skills as well. -
42040 Fire Plane
Technic-Kobaltz replied to timtimgo87's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The black toggle joints are mounting points so you can hang it up, well that's what are using them for. Do you think that's intentional? -
No problem Jim, fully understand and apologies to davidmull no offence meant. Regarding the lack of info on the fire plane, if I remember correctly for some reason we had a simillar situation last year with 42028 Bulldozer.

Good on you Jim, and give davidmull a good spanking while your at it as his comments are starting to wear a bit thin now. Throughout this thread his comments have been out of order on many occasions and many members are getting fed up with it.

Technic Pub
Technic-Kobaltz replied to jantjeuh's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
With all the excitement regarding the new sets, I was wondering why we can't get ''UCS Technic '' sets in the £200-£400 price bracket? Is Star Wars just that much more popular and therefore a high demand for such sets. -
Well put Jim, the actions of many have turned this thread into junk and it belongs in the trash. Can't see the wood for the tress.

Cheap 42009
Technic-Kobaltz replied to grum64's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
So it was just the same deal as Tesco then after all. -
Think I'll keep my £40 in my pocket for now till they get the brick sorted out, and from what I have seen in various videos the packaging in very disappointing. Why on earth would they think a bubble mailer would be suitable is anybody's guess.

Richard, +1 on that metal part, I have one and possibly a second and they are expensive on BrickLink. It would have been a welcome addition to 42009.
