  1. The use of the droid arms is top notch for this build. My only nitpick is in CG's. The pendulum of the grandfather clock looks stuck!
  2. There's a staff list on the top bar, if you click the "Staff" button. And while I don't know the specifics of which staff member specifically does what, I'm guessing running Eurobricks is not just one solitary person that everyone else follows. It's probably the major staff running as a council that discusses everything, especially if it's something major like running the site.

    Lego stores

I know Downtown Disney in Anaheim has a free standing one. I think the Disneyworld one in Orlando does too. You might also want to look for pictures of LEGO Stores in other countries.
  4. And not trying or wanting to mini-mod and adding on to what Mandalorianknight has said, but threats or veiled threats probably aren't the best way to deal with people here. If you do believe someone was banned and is trying to get around it, speak to a mod or admin and present your case.
  5. Ads keep the site running though. They pay server costs.
  6. You might have to part it out on BrickLink. As long as you follow the instructions of how many parts of each type for the engine you need, you can do it that way. Otherwose (on Bricklink at least), they're only selling the full set.
  7. Which EB does fairly well, mods don't have powertrips, everyone is reasonable and courteous. They give warnings, etc.
  8. I think a big reason your comment about purchasing the forum in the other thread was thought trolling is because it happened in a thread where people already were wondering if someone was trolling. And purchasing EB would probably be detrimental to the site. Many websites and services, especially smaller or niche ones, have a history of irrefutable change when bought. Brickfilms is the first that came to my mind. That site died after it was purchased by TaaB. Bricklink is another, although the jury is still out on that one.
  9. That's never going to be possible. And a lot of people do do that, I'm sure. Some people come across more aggressive than others, because that's just their personality.
  10. It's why I'm starting to get annoyed with social media and places like reddit. Not every thing has to be a big discussion, but comments on social media are becoming more and more hostile, annoying, basic, etc. Sure, some comments on there are well thought out, but it's just, I don't know, bleh. Everyone is offended/defensive now to the slightest percieved insult, which might not be an insult at all. At risk of sounding old (I'm a millenial, I'm not old), people just want instant gratification now, and stupid, easy comments get them that idea of participating without really participating, or if you don't get the answer you want or like, you call get nasty. The reason I stick with EB is because there's generally good conversation on here.
  11. Very nice! It reminds me of Hagrid's Hut sets.
  12. Crenellations. Somewhat similar to murder holes, but murder holes are openings in the floor to drop stuff down.
  13. Wow. Really long time since my last update. Work was a bit hectic, and holiday travels, but lots of building has been happening in small increments, but I didn't want to post minor updates here. So let's go in order of oldest to newest. So here, the second section's walls and tower have been mostly completed. There's the 2x2 corner roof parts I (still) need to get, as well as the cheese slopes. At this point, the ground wasn't finished either, and the colors were very muted before I broghtened it up, which you'll see in a moment. Next were some small barracks. Still not sure how much I like the beds, but they work for now. I had so many of the palisade bricks, I think from a PaB wall, and was wanting to use them. This part is still being worked on. I'm going to add some rocker bricks to angle some tan plates for the roof. Now the color! I was suggested by someone very cool to brighten up the base of the castle with some color, and it was decided to use purples, pinks, etc. Still not sure on how I feel about the trees, but I really like where this is going. These two photos of the third section was built today thanks to some hours able to build. The ground still needs to be finished, as does the rockwork for both sides. I'm going to add a well in the corner of that large greenpatch on the left of the second photo. The tan paths lead to the first sections tunnelled walkway and the second section's barracks. Merlons and crenels still need to be finished. Part of me is considering to lower the wall where there are no more rocks by five bricks, to make it fluck with the base, or just parts, so it's not one horizontal line. Any ideas? And thanks for looking!
  14. I buy what I think I need (at least for the castle I'm working on) from online of the PaB wall. Other times I just grab randomly from the wall and do a little vig with what's on hand. I might design something and then get the pieces for a build soon, just because it's going to be more curved and I want to experiment with those before I buy.
  15. "Aim!... Fire!" Emile shouted to the men in front of him. The deafening sound of shot echoed off the stone walls as men pulled the triggers on their weapons. Some rounds found their targets; others went straight to the wall of the fort where Emile and the Huntress had set up training. "Close!" Emile told the men. "Again! Faster! You think any enemies you come upon will give you minutes to reload? No! Get it done fast! You have four front teeth for a reason!" The gathered men reloaded and fired off another shot. "Continue until I say stop!" Emile ordered. He turned to the Huntress. "They're improving, I'll give them that." "Patriots are a dedicated people, "the Huntress replied. "They have something to fight for, and they'll work day and night to better themselves to save their nation." "Well, you won't find me arguing on that." "Oh, Poseidon, that was close!" a voice up above exclaimed. Everyone turned to see an RNTC soldier carefully peek up above the battlements. "He almost hit me!" Emile chided the man who misfired, "Do that again, and we'll give you one hundred lashings." "That's nothing," a familiar voice cut in. Chills ran up Emile's spine. The captain. His captain. Emile turned to the newcomer. "Well, we don't have time to do things how you did them on the ship." Emile's former captain, the bane of his existance, walked into the area. He bowed, "Huntress." "What are you doing here," Emile asked. "We have training to do." "I thought I would help," the Captain replied, a wicked grin on his face. "Fine," Emile replied. He tossed him a sabre. "The men have had enough training on firearms for today. Let's show them how to fight on foot." They moved to opposite ends and took positions. The Captain went to a lower outside guard, while Emile took a high guard. They advanced closer to each other. "Take note," Emile said to the Terraversans. "Keep your weight on your back foot until you need to lunge." And immediately, the captain lunged with a cut from above. Emile blocked it with brining his sword up above his head to protect him. With haste, Emile returned with a cut to the lower inside opening, where the Captain did not have his blade ready. "Ah!" the Captain shouted, as the blade hit him. Emile returned to a guard position and backed away to safety, as he had been taught. "You taught me well, many years ago. Now I have taught them." The Captain grimaced. Emile smirked. The Huntress smiled. ------- "Just a little bit more!" "These things are heavy!" "Well what do you expect, son? They're straight metal." "Those are pretty sharp down there. Don't hurt yourself getting them set up."
  16. Nice build! I love how crowded and bustling it is.
  17. It's a lot of fun. I also forgot to talk about the bridge build yesterday. When the weights were being put on, there was no sorting done. We all just watched because this was too cool to not see. We were all discussing who would break first. Nobody believed me when I said Tyler and Amy's would do well because of the SNOT techniques. And yeah, we were not expecting to go over 200 pounds. We beat Australia and with less time.
  18. Yes you can.
  19. Nope, Nintendo and Sega are separate.
  20. You've activated my trap card. You can't OMGUS me! That's a sure sign of you being scum.
  21. Every figure but Mario looks pretty cool. Not gonna be a buy for me unless we get some minifigure-sized stuff, but I'm curious to see where this partnership leads. On another note, now that we have these LED screens and scanners in sets, I'm hopeful we'll eventually get official LEGO lights some time in the next few years. LEGO only puts out parts that they can deem are safe (yes, the bricks are choking hazards, but still).
  22. Vote: Karen (Hinckley)
  23. So two weeks (and two new episodes) have gone by. Sadly no builds from me were in last week's episode, but there were two-three in last night's. So last night was the car and bridge challenge. Two of the other PAs (LEGO builders as well) and I were tasked with building the Start and Finish lines for the race. That was a challenge, as we really only had two-ish days to get it done, and it was a stupidly complex build to get the support right. One of the guys was more inclined to Technic, so he worked on the support system while the other and I worked on the actual signs, which went through two or three iterations to get the right look and size. Once we were finished with signs, I was able to help full time with the support. We were wanting to keep it very race-like, with having the 8x8 grill plates and the 1x5 crossbeam sections for the finish and start lines. The actual connection system was 1x12 technic bricks surrounding the crossbar and then had pins to 1x12 crossbricks facing out, that attached by the studs to the back of the sign. So taking it off, you pulled the sign off and then the technic bricks it attached to. To reattach it, slide the whole sign into place. But on the day of the race we had to make both of the supports taller, which was already super unstable, even with 4x4 round bricks and technic axles going through it. But we made both a good amount taller (without glue, thankfully) and it did make it to the end of the shoot before being accidentally knocked over. It was a stressful morning for me up until then. It was my idea to have the two minifigures, the announcer and the flagwaver, in the little box at the top at the Finish Line. I based the checkered flag off of the flag from the Fire Station Modular. The other "Build" I had was the little SNOT hammer Jamie uses as he talks to Will. That was a fun one, because that was the first time I actually got to talk to Jamie and Amy. The producers asked if we could grab the parts they needed for the bit, and Jamie explained which parts. The only problem was there was a bit of miscommunication based on lingo he used and what we were using. He called the brackets "angle plates," which was the term we were using for wedge plates. Eventually we got it sorted out, and then we did get to talk to them about what names they use for bricks at work. Found out there's no consensus on some parts. And I just noticed my new tag! Cool! Thanks, whoever added it!
  24. That's what they all say
  25. Looking forward to some adventures and more MOCs. Yuu're really capturing that feel of the old Adventurer's line.
