  2. Hey everyone. I'm starting work on a pirate ship (Wow, I haven't built one in forever) and I'm getting back into the swing of things. I'm working in LDD right now to design it. I'm still deciding on the color scheme, earth blue or black and white, etc.? Should I tile the gundeck? I'm expecting The Rowdy Gentleman to hold 12 guns per side, not including chasers or swivels. I'm thinking she'll have a full gun deck, and then that "half" one (can't remember the correct term). Any suggestions?
  3. Nice job! The plants give it a nice touch. My only suggestions would be for the attacker to have an angrier looking face and the road to be a little more "unused". But I like it a lot.
  4. ... When you start thinking about how a person would look as a minifigure in a MOC.
  5. For LDD specifically, no I don't think so. Other programs similar may be a possibility. I know I checked a few years ago, but there wasn't one up on the App Store.
  6. I like it! Can we see it on a ship? And please swivel?
  7. Looks good! The corners are a bit squared, but I have that problem, too. It seems like a fun one for the kids to play with. Do they enjoy it?
  8. Definitely recognizable as a Barnes & Noble! You captured the feel of it very well, looks like every multi-story store I've stepped into. The decals all look really great.
  9. Very nice! I like the foliage, and the rock is very nice
  10. I see your point. There's a great deal of variety amongst the fleshies when you consider every theme and many can be great Pirate figurers. Personally, I'll mix the figures, just adding to the variety even though it looks ugly at points, although I do try to keep them in seperate areas. Add different clothing from other lines (some work well, mainly female minifigure parts) and there's even more diversity.
  11. If I'm not mistaken, that helmet is new, unless it's appeared in something other than the CMF line. The previous Roman was a legionaire, and this, being a Centurion has his plume running side to side rather than front to back. As for the popularity, I think it's because it is something people (generally) have wanted for a very long time, myself included. We haven't had an Ancient Rome or Greek, etc theme(s) yet, and it's something that I and some others (generally) believe that could sell well, especially with younger kids if mythology was included.
  12. .... when people realize when you say "LEGO" in its plural form, they ask you if that's correct and you give them a grammatical explanation for it's plural....ness? ..... when you make a disgusted face when somebody mixes MegaBlocks in with LEGO. .... When you have an easier time explaining something through a MOC then instructions on paper.
  13. It's a simple design, but looks effective. Now I can't wait to see the next part!
  14. I forgot about concept and distribution time I saw it on IGN this morning, and I believe Amazon already has box art up, apparently it comes before Connor (his grandfather), but that's for another thread, so I won't go into a lot of detail.
  15. I like the concept, but not sure how it would be fleshed out (excuse the minifigure license-unlicensed skin pun). Would it be modern? If so, as said before, sub-Saharan Africa has very little buildings, etc. If you went for the jungle, like the Congo area, it would be very close to the old Adventurer sets and such. Also, think of the backlash LEGO could get. Depending on what the theme revolves around, LEGO could get some serious criticism for making this theme, especially if people see it as promoting imperialism, colonialism, etc. So while AFOLs and a few others would recognize what the theme is, people may misunderstand it and misconstrue it, hurting LEGO's reputation.
  16. This looks fun! Maybe I'll enter this year. There's a lot you can come up with for all of these figures through all the themes. Glad that this contest is back!
  17. I just read that Ubisoft is making Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, based around pirates. I know we won't be getting any sets around the series, but does anyone think that this game could build hype around pirates of any sort, and that LEGO would jump on the bandwagon?
  18. Roman centurion That is the one minifigure I'll get no matter what, even if that means buying it online. The Native, Warrior Woman, Colonial Soldier are the other three I'm desiring multiples of. I actually like the diva and would be fine of multiples of her. LEGO catfight in the mall anyone? In all seriousness, I just want multiple smart phones. that has a lot of uses. The Grandpa is a cute one, and I like the bald head mold. The other figures are decent (I'm not going to comment on the golden one, I'll wait until I see more pics of that before giving a real opinion) and worth getting, not multiples of for me though.
  19. Congrats toutouille! That was a creative entry!
  20. Legotrainfan is correct; it is magma rising up to the surface (is that when we now call it lava?), since the minifigure is disappearing. But I can see how you thought it was blood toutouille. It is a funny concept when you put it in that light.
  21. I hope we are all here. Everyone's entries look great!
  22. Thanks, and I know. I was kind of rushing to get the pictures done.
  23. Here's my entry. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=77146 Best of luck everyone!
  24. Here is my entry for the End of the World building drive. I enjoyed building it and hopefully we all survive to see who wins the contest. Looks like God, Death, and the Mayans have a hand in saving this guy! Definitely a sign of the apocalypse if he's here... Well, it's nice to know somebody actually cares about saving the world I hope you enjoy it and best of luck to everyone entering!
