Great review, AwesomeStar! This makes me wish I owned more than just a Forestman minifigure. I even want to build my own version of this set now.

Nice choice, Lightningtiger! Two days ago (I know the thread is today, but I only found it today ) I bought the Helms Deep set and received a mini Sopwith camel for free. Both of them are so great. I'm considering building my own extensions onto Helms Deep to make it more my own, as there is no way I'm tearing that thing down for parts.

Big medieval landscape: BIG UPDATE on page 26
KotZ replied to maydayartist's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Your work is amazing, it really is. Everything is so beautiful, and detailed. I can't wait to see when it is finished! I love the cliff design the most I think. -
Sounds interesting, I haven't played a mafia game on here in awhile. 1) I've done the Halloween bloodbath, the Fabuland, Dr. BloodBrick's asylum and the Eurodina game. I died relatively early in all, save the VOBD where I made it to the end, but the Townies overran us. 2) Space? Well, it's everything. The bit of nothingness between two people as they stand, or the distance between a starship and earth. It contains everything and continues to expand, and maybe affect the speed of time. It also is a big bar on the nav computer keyboards. I think that one is the best answer, the last one. 3) 2x2 is a song- oh you meant 2 PLUS 2.... well, that's easy. That's uh... well, I see everybody says it's four here, so I say four. But really, who really thinks it is four? It could be 22, or 8, or anything. It all is based on perception, and your view of reality.

I did the same with traps, always trying to find new ways to put minifigures in jail cells when they unwittingly walk on a trap or net. Glad to know I wasn't the only one

Suddenly losing all interest in a whole theme?
KotZ replied to purpleparadox's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I've noticed it more with Star Wars for me. I think it was after the Clone Wars movie came out. I mean, there were some beautiful sets, like the crawler and dropship that I wanted, but now I don't feel a spark for the sets, save the clone battlepacks just to boost my clone army. Even the original trilogy sets seem bland, maybe because I feel like we see the same thing over and over again. I still love the movies, but the LEGO sets seem to have lost their luster. I feel the same about Pirates (non-licensed) a little as well, maybe because the theme was discontinued, but I still try to have some piratey stuff I buy. On the other hand, my love for Castle has grown, and my rediscovery of Exo-Force after not seeing any of the EF sets I own for more than a year has made me want to make my own mechs. -
Thanks! I originally had microbuildings, but I thought they looked a little weird, so I pulled them out. Thanks!

I just made a small MOC (inspired by the new "Black List" book cover by Brad Thor) with my Series 3 Pilot, showing him skydiving into a desert. I really wanted to try to make a cloud, but I'm not sure how well it looks, I'm not sure if I got the "fluffiness" of it ... Hope you all enjoy!

You could use the wand/stick/lightsaber piece and various other parts to make your own distinct accessory for a faction, one that would, while more complex and difficult to make, it would set that faction apart more than just colors or symbols, or it could help determine elite units.

This is cool! I love all the green and black. It is rare to see ruin mocs, and this is a reason why there should be more.
-
Exactly! There are so many minifigures that could be involved in the set.
-
Very cool! I love the classic feel of it, though I think you may want to dust your LEGO

I don't own any of the modular buildings, but one they could make could be an office building. I know the idea seems a tad bland, but they could beef it up with some greebling and the interior. We've never had an office building before, and this could be a nice addition to the city.

I think this is cool to see some what people have that are older than them. Personally, I have one classic Pirates set, as well as a recoat torso from that time that was not included with the set. I have a minigifure head just like the ones SirBlake recently posted. I also have a few Castle figures from before I was born. Also I have been lucky enough to build and play with (when I was much younger) older sets and pieces that ranged from late 70s to early 90s, all in one bin!

Here are two that I took. I edited them also, wanting to get a little grittier of a feel.

Anybody with some knowledge of 19th century America has most likely heard of nullification, secession, and states' rights... well, what if history was changed, allowing states to nullify laws? Follow the Warrior Gentleman as he changes history! I admit, the premise is a little absurd, but I wanted to see where I could take the idea and how much sense it could make. Enjoy! BS folder when public with larger pictures. Comments and critiques more than welcome!

I agree, there is a tad too much of uniformity of the color. It's a great design though! I really like how you did the walls of the bridge as well.
-
All of those are good ideas. You could use them to create rocks possibly. Use them as something to design around. Or use them as parts of a creature. I have an idea that I plan on using where the stern of the old ships hulls be used for a sea monster. Hope this helps!

Nice job! Nice pictures from everyone! And I think I'll take a pink tank over a pink Hello Kitty assault rifle any day I may put some pictures up soon... of the LEGO, not the assault rifle....

Now, I don't advocate stealing, but if you're going to be a thief, a LEGO thief is where it's at. Although that MagmaMonster thing is just plain crazy, but maybe he was waiting a few years and then sell them? And a little off topic, but this is probably how he made his money, steal items and then sell them.

It looks very good, Diidy. I love all the little things happening in it. The MOC seems like it came out of a scene from a movie with all of the hustle and bustle going on.
-
I always love seeing modifications to modular buildings, and yours look great! I like the LEGO store addition, and the idea of a cafe, roof-top for the GE. Great job!
-
Nice job, Capt.JohnPaul. I agree on the rockscaping. I don't think the tiles look great at the bottom for the knights. A studded walkway or even a plain brown path may look better. And whose skeleton shield is that? One of the knights'? Maybe even a rockslide feature would be cool to add. I like it though.

When I first saw Attack of the Clones, that thing was just plain creepy and not something I would want to fight... Same feeling for this one as a minifigure. You replicated it really well! My suggestion would be to make it a little rounder instead of so "rectangular", although the pieces I'm thinking of don't come in those colors. Great job!

Great review! This was always on my list to get, and you convinced me to go for it even more, and buy multiple. Those Uruk-Hai are just calling me. And NiceMarmot, you say 20? Why not have thirty? That'd be overkill, but it would look really good, I bet.
