  1. This was not only my first Castle set by my first LEGO set ever... I got it for my 5th or 6th birthday back in the mid eighties.
  2. Well... after seeing some of the screenshots from the upcoming LEGO batman game... I want to see a clayface fig
  3. Well... I have two AA sets... one I bought at full price back when it came out and one i bought a few weeks ago at half price at my TRU. I put the first one together and the second one is still MISB... Im planning to build some mocs with it and add it to the first set to build a kinda spooky town together with some Harry Potter sets. Overall, i think its a great set... lots of great MOC pieces and minifig pieces that match the dark theme of Harry Potter... which I like.
  4. I bought about 5 or 6 of these sets when they were on sale in mid- 2006. I still have a few of them laying around unopened. I think I payed like under $5 for each and thats a great deal for all the variety of neat parts you get with this set.
  5. I hope we see a real clayface figure in a future set!
  6. WOW, four years in between posts... thats gotta be some kind of record!
  7. I could tell right away how this poll would turn out . There isnt really a western movie or show that Lego could realistically liscence.
  8. I had the same thought about the Volcano Base when I first saw it... Parts from other themes that go well with castle: - Star Wars Minifigs... especially the pre-fleshie sets. Jedi robes make good peasant garb, and some of the old yellow heads are good for wizards (ei Count Dooku). - Harry Potter for sure... lots of castle arches and such. - Indiana Jones... some of the minifig accesories and the tree/plant pieces that are present in most of the sets. - Suprisingly I find a lot of usefull pieces in the Spongebob sets... especially lots of brown and tan. - Aquaraiders... the creatures and treasure can fit into the medieval theme (especially the shipwreck set.)
  9. My TRU here in Canada had them... I bought the last one left on the shelf earlier today I was so glad when I saw it because I was kicking myself for not getting it last year.
  10. Im not that into Mars Mission... but this set reminds me of the Jungle Cutter
  11. Very nice mocs... I like how you used the clear table for the water effect. PS. That table looks familiar, I think I have the same table in my backyard..lol
  12. Awesome, awesome... I love custom fleshie figs!!
  13. An awesome small set to compliment the bigger ones
  14. Sure sure, but does he have an archeology degree like Indy has? Or is he just a run-of-the-mill grave robber.
  15. J.T. was great, but we all know he was just an Indy wannabe
  16. I like the Yeti best... with Jun-Chi a close second
  17. HAHA... those little guys look like they mean business!!
  18. Umm... well, if you're reading this thread.. you should pretty much EXPECT spoilers... dont you think??
  19. The jungle one is simply a Johnny Thunder torso (from one of the jungle sets) with fleshie arms and hands from The Harry Potter Merfolk set. The Himalayan one is from the Orient Expedition set 7412 Yeti's Hideout. You can also replace one of the fleshie arms with a tan arm on the jungle shirt to get this kind of look:
  20. Pretty Sweet! Is the the only set these glow in the dark stick come in?
  21. I like the how you remade the speedracer car and how you used the rebel troop head for the policemen
  22. Mars Mission is ok... but I'd like to see additional subthemes like in the old days. A remake of Ice Planet would be neat.
  23. Nice MOC. Its resembles the actual photo pretty close. I like the armor hanging on the hook.
  24. I saw the movie last night and yeah, some of the sets are a little off. 1)The sabre duel did not happen in the camp but rather during the car chase. 2) There was not Soviets hiding in trees during the river chase...and no boat. 3) There was not cave during the jungle cutter scene. BUT: The design off the jungle cutter wad dead on... I just put the set together a few days ago and when I saw it in the movie I was suprised at how much alike they both looked. The big blades, the smaller blades on the front, the control booth and even the parts near the back where the woodchips were thrown out of is exactly like in the movie. If you think about it, if the Lego sets resembled the movie a lot more than the sets would not be as interesting. If the river chase set didnt have the tree base and the jungle cutter set did not have the cave then both sets would be a lot more bland. Im a big fan of foilage pieces so I dont mind the extra additions, I feel they add to the setting. One thing i would have changed about the sets is to include a jeep rather than a boat in the river chase set... but then that would have raised the price of the set.
  25. 'Ike' was the nickname for Dwight D. Eisenhower who was the president of the US at the time the movie took place (1957).
