What is the funniest things you have heard said about Lego?
BearHeart replied to Sisco's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That reminds me, I remember someone telling me that they have to glue LEGO sets for their kid because the kid gets frustrated when they play with it and it falls apart. It made me snicker. -

What is the funniest things you have heard said about Lego?

When I was buying the Battle of Endor last fall the cashier lady said: "I see a lot of grown men buying these" -
Just something I was thinking about the other day... I loved LEGO as a kid, but when I got to be around 13 or 14 I stopped buying LEGO because I thought I had outgrown it and I was a little ashamed of asking for it as a present. It was the Vikings theme that got me back into LEGO after a ten year break. I was searching for an avatar pic for another forum/site and typed in "Viking" into Google image search and a picture of the LEGO vikings theme popped up on the first page. I was surprised and intrigued because I'm kinda a history buff and I remembered how much I loved LEGO when I was younger. The next day I took a trip to my local ToysRUS and bought 'Viking Boat against the Wyvern Dragon' set. It was supposed to be the only set I was going to buy, I was just gonna build it and display it on my desk. I then got out my old LEGO and started building and rediscovered how fun it is. From then on it just kinda snowballed and LEGO is back as one of my favorite hobbies.

I just got two of these sets today and I was a bit disappointed to discover that the faces of the soldiers are barely visible. The paint used on them was very faint rather than a strong black. I was planning on using the heads to create a green-skinned race for the medieval fantasy world but I decided not to do that once I saw these faces. I know that this was done deliberately to create that "molded" look that real plastic toy soldiers have.

A fun fact about KK2 you probably don't know...
BearHeart replied to Mörs's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It's true! Me and a friend of mine (who's also a LEGO fan) are both of Polish descent and we always have a good chuckle the Lord Vladek name because of the way it sounds in Polish. Its the equivalent of naming a villain "Lord Steve" or "Lord Dave" in English, it just doesn't sound that imposing. -
Like most people, I`m stoked about the new castle sets. I keep coming back online just to look at the pics again. I like the color schemes of both factions and I especially love the solid look of the castle. I know these are probably preliminary pictures but unless they change the sets drastically, I`m very happy with the direction that Castle (or should I say Kingdoms) is going. I can see this type of line having a pretty long life with possible expansions and additions of new factions.

REVIEW: Atlantis 8061: Gateway of the Squid
BearHeart replied to yellost's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
This set looks like something that was made by "Megablocks" and not LEGO. -
This is great news! Now LEGO can spend its resources on better themes. I wonder what will replace bionicle, hopefully something that will be a little more compatible with regular system LEGO.

Hi There, I'm originally from Poland too and I was in a similar situation as yourself. My parents couldn't afford to buy me a lot of LEGO when I was young but now I have the money myself to spend on this hobby. I came out of my 10 year dark age in 2006. I'm also into Castle (and other themes, as you can tell from my sig). This is a great site for LEGO news and discussion, hope you enjoy it.

How about a Simpsons license. Every building and character from the show could be released and you could make your owns Simpsons town.

I'm considering using Ziploc bags to sort my LEGO rather than plastic containers. I'm trying this specifically to save on space. Comments?

I've always wanted to see a Nintendo Mario Bros. LEGO license with all the characters and themes from the Mario games. There is enough characters and settings for a good 3 - 4 year run and then maybe a year of Zelda sets to follow.

Lol, actually he's not... I agree with him.

I prefer the Renegade Runner just because of the color scheme. The Cross bone Clipper has too much green and red which makes it seem <insert that tiresome argument>.

When I heard about a LEGO Harry Potter game a few months ago it renewed my hopes for a new wave of sets as a tie in with the game. So this news is pretty exciting for me. I hope this rumor is true.

New LEGO Indiana Jones Armor Case for Nintendo DS
BearHeart replied to squidman85's topic in LEGO Licensed
I already knew about the game for a few weeks... saw some previews on video game sites. The preview pictures had fleshie figs while this keychain is yellow, so it doesn't make any sense. Plus I doubt LEGO just use a pirate torso like this. -

I'm not too thrilled with the Rockband keychain. It's just a pirate body with different head. -
I think its a great little set. Nice color scheme and a number of rare pieces including a brown horse. I would definitely buy it if an updated version of this set was released. Great Review!

Great Review. I'm not a big fan of this set. I can't quite put my finger on it, I guess I just don't like this particular SW vechicle. One thing I dont like for sure is the landing gear, its not retractable like most other SW sets.

I got this minifig in the Battle of Endor set that I recently purchased. I didn't even know LEGO was running this promotion. I just found it in the box and assumed it was part of the set until I did some research on it online. I'm planning on keeping it in the bag and selling it on eBay eventually.
