I'm just wondering how long sets are available in stores for once they are released. How long does LEGO go on producing a set after its initial release? I'm planning on buying the King's Castle set but I'm hesitant about getting it now because of the pinkish hue problems with the horse barding and certain torsos. I bought two Knights Showdown sets and they both had the pink hue problem and I want to avoid this in the more expensive sets. I want to wait until maybe January 2011 in hopes that LEGO might have solved the white/pink problem by then. Will I still have a good chance of picking up this set then? BTW, I live in Canada.

Well, its just the red torso coming through the white paint but I think it looks really bad. I'm thinking of holding off buying the big caste set in hopes that maybe LEGO will improve the quality of the paint in this set in the future.

I just got this set and the white parts of the torso of the lion solider are pink. Anyone else have this problem in this set?

REVIEW Castle 7097 - Trolls' Mountain Fortress
BearHeart replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I still have this set MISB in my parents basement. Its gonna be another 6 months before my house is built and I can finally put it together. -
Good question. Being in Canada, I was also worried about it since I don't see it on the S@H website for Canada and the fact that the other wizard a few years back was not available. Since they're showing up in US stores I'm pretty sure they'll be available in Canada as well eventually.

So the battle packs are produced in Europe or China? Can anyone who has the battle packs confirm this by checking the packaging? -
Yes, exactly. The minifigs hand seem dull and translucent. I guess there is a lot of inconsistencies with yellow pieces from what I read in this thread. Some of the other pieces are low-quality too, like the zombie shovel and the forestman feathers. They feel almost as if they're not a real LEGO piece but a knockoff.

They are available in Canada already (at least at some locations). I already picked up mine at a Walmart in Burlington ON. Sad to say, I'm kinda disappointed with the quality of the figs. The plastic looks and feels cheap, almost like its LEGO knockoff rather than an actual LEGO product. -
Great looking set! I'll be picking up multiples of these. Too bad it doesn't come with any extra plumes :(

I have also noticed this about the zombie shovel. The rest of him looks good though. My major gripe is with the forestman (which is supposed to be my favorite figure from Series 1), the green legs and hat feel and look really cheap and the two feathers that come with him are also poor quality.

I recently purchased some of the Minfig Collection figures and I’ve noticed that the plastic they’re made of seems a little off to me. It doesn’t seem like its as of a high quality as what I’m used to getting from LEGO. I did some research online and found out that there is a general consensus that LEGO has had quality issues over the last couple of years and that possibly this is being resolved now. I read that LEGO was being produced by a company called Flextronics up until 2008 but then decided to do their own in-house production in order to improve quality. So how come there are still the issues with quality? Are they producing their own but using cheaper plastic? There were a lot of complaints with the Pirate line which came out in 2009 and the quality of the Minifig Collection is lacking too IMO.

I'll be looking forward to your review. Im a little concerned about the quality since I'm kinda dissapointed with the quality of the minifig collecion series 1. -
I have both the Native and the Foresmen figure and its looks to me like its the same size bow and quiver as it always was.

Thanks guys. I ended up printing the barcodes and got all the figures I wanted: 4 Woodsmen, 3 Natives, 1 Zombie, 1 Robot, 1 Cowboy & 1 Caveman. EDIT: On a side note, one of my Natives was missing both of the feathers. Luckily, each Native comes with an extra one so I just took one from one of the other figs. -

I'm going to a store in my area this afternoon that sells the minifigs individually. Will I be able to feel through the bag what figure is inside or are the bags designed in such a way that there is no way of telling? -
I don't mind the crossbows. I feel they fit better with the current factions. I see bows as more of a forestman/bandit weapon.

This is the best impulse set for me personally. I have only one dog and no pigs in my collection. I'm planning on picking up eight of these

Hmmm... the white printing is really disappointing. Maybe I'll wait a couple of months to pick this set up.

I agree. I signed up there when I first came out of my dark age only to discover (very fast) that LEGO.com boards are pretty useless for AFOLs.

Review - 6055 - Prisoner Convoy
BearHeart replied to castlestrike666's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I had this set as a kid. I remember having a heckuva time trying to get that door to stay on the back of the carriage. Unfortunately, most of my pieces from this set are really faded and worn now. -
Very Nice Badger! That's exactly what I was looking for! I want to mix my crownies with my imperial troops. I was thinking of the same torsos you have there but with the tall black hats. PS. Got any more pics for inspiration?
