  1. LEGO takes up enought of my cash so I don't really collect anything else. . I do read a lot so I guess I sort of collect books. I also take photos of birds and try to get as many different species of birds as I can, I think Im at around 25 species now.
  2. Hi, I'm just wondering about the availability of the mini-fig bag sets (caveman, cheerleader, wrester etc.). Have they been released yet? Are they available in North America? Can you get them at any toy store or only LEGO stores? Thanks
  3. Does anyone know the Canadian prices for these new sets?
  4. Personally, I’m not tired of the Castle line. I missed out on most of big castle sets of the golden age of the 80’s and 90’s chiefly because my family didn’t have the money for those size sets. Now, I have a chance to buy the kinds of sets that I didn’t get when I was a kid. I wouldn’t mind if LEGO took a one or two-year hiatus from the European medieval style castles and gave us something from different time periods or different parts of the world. This has already been done once in the late 90s with the Ninja theme. The new line is called “Kingdoms” rather than “Castle” which opens up these possibilities. Who knows, maybe this is what LEGO has planned for the future.
  5. Great Review. This kind of set has been done a bunch of times before but it still looks decent. The figure looks great, looks like Kingdoms is gonna be a great theme.
  6. I have this set MISB sitting in my parents basement. I intend to open it once I move into my new house this fall and build a MOC out of its pieces. My friend also has this set, open and built. Thats exactly my thinking too
  7. This year alone I've seen LEGO at Costco a few times. I remember seeing the Indy Shanghai chase set for 29.99 (regular 39.99 Canadian$), a new space police set that I haven't seen anywhere else and the DK LEGO books (which are kind of like sets).
  8. I was actually thinking about this a few days ago. I just got married and bought a new house so I'm gonna have to fit my LEGO spending into my new budget (Previously, I used the richie rich method ) I decided that I'm just gonna stick to two or three themes: Castle for sure and then a combo of licensed themes depending on whats available that year. I calculated I can spend $100 - $150 per month
  9. Mine looks like the one on the left. I guess they consider that good quality but to me it looks pretty poor considering that ALL the other armor pieces look really good. It seems only the gold armor looks like this. I think its because its gray and black painted on gold plastic and the colors kinda run. If it was gold and black paint on gray plastic (but in the same color pattern) then the problem wouldn't exist.
  10. Unfortunately, I dont have a picture of it and I can't take one at the moment because the set is in my parents basement 200km away. but it pretty much looks like Sir Dillon's pictures.
  11. That kind of what mine looks like, maybe a tad worse. I dunno, maybe Im being overly picky. Its just that I noticed it as soon as I looked at it out of the box.
  12. Does anyone have quality issues with the armor printing on the Golden Knight brestplate. I opened my set recently and found that the printing (especially the lining up of the borders of the design on the breastplate) is off centre. I looked at close up pics of the set on brickshelf as well as the review on EB and found the same problem. Has anyone else noticed this?
  13. True, but iPods are just manufactured in China (as are a lot of other products designed by western companies). I meant if the product was developed and designed there, I wouldn't count on it being high quality.
  14. Well if we're looking for a 'high quality' replacement, then China is pretty much a non-issue.
  15. I don't necessarily mean a minifig exactly like LEGO's, just something up to par or better. Would it be illegal for someone to make a figure that's made up of three parts (legs, torso and head) that can be interchanged?
  16. I answered assuming that this new competitor would include some kind of high quality mini-figs of their own. If it didn't, then I'd stick with LEGO.
  17. If a new brand came out with higher quality plastic, a large variety of pieces and aimed at an older crowd I'd switch over in a heartbeat.
  18. I'm just wondering about the availability of the new Minifigs (wave 1 & 2). Will they be released like regular LEGO sets and be available wherever regular sets are sold or are they gonna be exclusive to LEGO stores? Also, will they be released in North America, specifically Canada?
  19. Very nice!! Nice picture quality too. Is chroming LEGO pieces easy to do? I'd want to do something like this to some of my LEGO armor too.
  20. Is that printing on the castle walls or are theystickers?? I'm hoping for printed walls but I'm not betting on it.
  21. @#$%!!! There's no pics of General Grevious!!! I'm waiting to see what the new version looks like!
  22. Hmmm... I can't say I'm too thrilled with the way the Wampa looks. I don't like the fact that its arms are different from each other, it kinda limits the poss-ability of the figure. If both arms were like the left one then I'd like it a lot more. Nevertheless, I'll still probably pick this set up.
  23. Personally, I wouldn't do it... but I'm a LEGO purist.
  24. Awesome review. I just picked up two of these sets at TRU today
  25. I just bought this set on Friday. I drove around for two hours visiting about 6 stores before I finally found it (at the one closest to my house )
