Very nice set! I wish LEGO could do a remake of it with a more modern look. I really like the tree and the baseplate *y*

What would you pay extra for the box
BearHeart replied to Bonaparte's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'd never pay full price for a previously used LEGO set, no matter how rare. I'd probably be willing to pay between 50 to 75% of the original price. -
Any Egyptian Adventurers sets for sale at low price?
BearHeart replied to Axle's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
If you want one for a low price then you're better off buying a second-hand one rather than one in a sealed box. Preplayed ones usually go for 1/2 the price of one thats never been opened. Just make sure you read the whole description to know what you're getting and if all the pieces are there. -
Any Egyptian Adventurers sets for sale at low price?
BearHeart replied to Axle's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
The Egypt Adventurers theme is almost 10 years old so I dont think you'll be able to find any in stores. You'll have to buy them over the internet on Ebay or Bricklink. -
So no K3PO with the Hoth set? I read somewhere that there is supposed to be one included in this set.

Very interesting article. There is a lot of promise in LEGO's future *y*

Brick Testament: Education or Exploitation?
BearHeart replied to Norrington's topic in General LEGO Discussion
A lot of these stories seem to be taken out of context and focusing on the "Fire and Brimmstone", "Eye-for-an-Eye" stories from the old testament and NOT on the Christian teachings of the New Testament. A lot of people seem to be getting this point confused >:-( . The floods, plagues and wars are mostly in the old testament and are not part of the christian message. To those responding, please do some research before you make wild accusations about a religion you know nothing about. -
I was in a toystore over the weekend which had a pretty big Playmobile selection. It seems to me that PM has a larger and more varied selection of themes than LEGO does. Not only was there a Castle, City and Space theme that LEGO has but there was also Western, Zoo, Farm and something that looked like a Renassance Palace theme among others. I remember thinking how great it would be if LEGO created similar themes. I also noticed that a lot of the themes had human vs. human conflict in it even though Playmobile seems to be aimed at a slightly younger crowd than LEGO. Playmobile and LEGO are very similar toy brands and yet they have very different product offerings and it seems a very different market strategy. It looks like PM is doing well financially with their products even though half of their themes are non-violent, non-conflict ones. I just wish TLC would maybe gear their philosophy towards a PM type of product line that's based more on creativity rather than an "action, flashy lights and sounds" kind of approach they've had for the last few years.

I bought 4 Vladek Encounters and the B-Wing

Very unique MOC. Welcome to Eurobricks btw.

Great piece of work *y* . Very well choreographed with the real trailer. Definitely one of the best LEGO animations Ive seen.

Very Nice MOC. Its great inspiration to me because I'm planning on building a similar wagon out of my 8874 Battle Wagon set.

Nice review, I'm planning on getting 3 of these

I recently purchased and assembled the 6208 B-Wing. I read that its supposed to have a two man cockpit but I can't figure out where the second pilot is supposed to sit :-/ . Anyone know?

10190 A new LEGO Factory Exclusive!
BearHeart replied to legomilk's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The pics are a little small but from what I can make out it looks like a great set, I particularly like the color scheme. -
I read somewhere in a description of the set that those muskets are supposed to represent tranquilizer guns. It is a mental institution so they're not going to be killing the patients if they try to escape :-P

I've started collecting LEGO exactly a year ago and Ive never had a missing piece in any of the 40+ sets that Ive bought this year. However, I remember I had a few missing piece incidents back in the early 90s. So personally, I think TLC has made improvements in that area. The brick quality is another issue though which I already discussed earlier in this thread.

Thats probably the best-looking box from the whole castle line *y* *y* *y*

WOW, that is high... I was expecting $69 Canadian not American.

Just noticed this while browsing LEGO S@H. Looks like the Hogwarts Castle will be available sooner than most of us anticipated *y* Lego S@H - Hogwarts Castle 5378

Nice Find. That pic reminds me of the LEGO castle dioramas from the 80s and 90s that they had in the catalogues *wub*. The Minifigs look awesome too but it looks like the knight (with the racius head) has a plane torso under his armour *n*

Funny, I was actually daydreaming yesterday about buying this set. I think it looks awesome, all the little neat accessories and attention to detail is what makes HP LEGO one of my favorite themes. I love the new minifigs, especially the death-eater head...WOW *y* *y* . This set is definately #1 on my shopping list for this summer. I'm buying as soon as I see it in stores. Too bad its the only HP set this year :'-(

What is your favorite LEGO color ???
BearHeart replied to Brick Miner's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hmmm... I have a few favorite colors: Green: I like green LEGO because of the pieces that come in green including trees, vines, plants and baseplates. They allow you to make nature/outdoor settings and add plant-related details to your MOCs. Lite Tan: This is the color of some of the baseplates that come with Vladek's Dark Fortress and Scorpion Prison cave. I like this color because I find it easy on the eyes and its also nature/outoor related. Great for outdoor MOCs/sets. Fleshie: I know its very unLEGO and untraditional, but I like the flesh colored minifigs. Black: Black goes great with anything in LEGO. You can build almost anything out of black LEGO and make it look realistic (trees, cars, medieval armor, weapons, guns, spaceships, buildings, castles..etc etc etc)
