Thats a nice wish list but probably very far from what we're actually gonna get.

I've been to the Schaumburg store (North Chicago)a couple times and once to the one in Natick (near Boston). The staff are very friendly in both stores.

I'm guessing there will be 3 sets in the summer/fall of 2011 with no new factions. And then maybe a bigger wave in 2012 with 1 or 2 new factions. While I'm one of the many people who'd love more small civilian sets, I doubt we'll get any. PS. The Creator cabin set coming out in 2011 looks like a great parts pack for building medieval civilian buildings.

Nice Moc, but if that's the interior of the bank then shouldn't the BANK signs on the windows be backwards (facing out) . Sorry, just nitpicking.
-
The pics arent there but the name of the site where they are is there. If you go to the thread on that site where the set is discussed, it shows interior pics of all the buildings. The bank, unfortunately, has the least impressive interior

Me too. Post #1554.

I started a thread about it thinking it was an already officially announced set but it got taken down. .

New Lego Exclusive 10217 Harry Potter Diagon Alley
BearHeart replied to GRogall's topic in LEGO Licensed
Just came across this on toysnbricks.com (LINK), scroll down for more hi-res pics : -
They just showed up on the TRU Canadian website today (Oct 1). I was at TRU yesterday but they weren't there yet. I'm gonna pop out at lunch today to see if they're in stock. I'm guessing they were waiting for the Oct 1st to put them out on shelves.

Has anyone seen Harry Potter sets in stock yet?

That log house looks great. Yeah, the baseplate looks funny but its probably just prelim. I'll probably pick up multiples of this one, its a great sourse of brown bricks and red roof slopes.
-
Good point. I'd love to see figures from Norse mythology next.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
BearHeart replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Do you honestly believe everything a big corporation says in its 'mission statement'? If you do, that makes you more gullible than I am picky about the quality. Sorry if I seem to be harsh here. PS. As for the arm issue, I'll try making a vid of it later on and posting it here. -

Well if you don't have any brown parts then of course you don't know what color dullness I'm talking about. If you compare the brown legs from the cowboy, black legs from the vampire or the green legs from the forestman with normal brown, black or green legs from a regular set you'll notice how vibrant the regular set legs are and how dull the minifig legs are. Given all these quality issues, I still have a lot of use for the collectible minifigs. A lot of the accessories are great and some of the printing on the torsos 'hides' the cheap, dull look of the plastic. I created some great custom figs by mixing the minifig parts with parts from regular sets. Another quality issues that I don't know if it was mentioned here is the arm joints where the arm connects to the torso. Try changing arms from a collectable minifig with that of a regular set minifig. You'll notice that the joints are different sizes and that the minifig arms in a regular minifig torse will be too small and therefore very loose. -
REVIEW: Set 4738: Harry Potter - Hagrid's Hut
BearHeart replied to KristofBD's topic in LEGO Licensed
The set looks good but I wont be getting it.... it looks too much like the Hagrid's Hut from 2004 (which I have). Besides the new Hagrid figure, all the rest of them are pretty bland. It would've been nice if they included Hagrid's dog Fang and Buckbeak the hippogriff. -

Great Points!! This is exactly what I mean by cheap quality. - The edges, especially on the legs, are sharp. - The plastic is rough and translucent, most notably the hands because they are so thin. - A lot of the parts have an unLEGO like color dullness to them, especially the brown pieces. -
So are the Atlantis sets going to be release in January or April??
-
Another HP set I missed in my dark age . I tried buing it MISB on eBay a few times but I was outbit.
-
Good points, I was going to post something like this. With recent action-oriented, crazy-colored themes like power miners, atlantis, and world racers what were people expecting from this one? Remember, its LEGO, if you don't like something about a set, just mod it.

I only like the temple and anglerfish sets. I'll get one of each. I like how the anglerfish is sporting a gold tooth. BLING! lol
-
This theme actually doesn't look too bad. I'm definitely going to pick up some of the smaller sets for the cool skeleton figures and the new weapons alone. I'm also liking the look of some of the forts... I might get those too (space and budget permitting)
-
WOW! This theme looks awesome! The small airlplane and motorcycle sets are amazing. I can see myself getting 3-4 of each of those sets. I also like the deep red colors of all the vechicles. I actually like the Sphinx, the head looks very menacing . The giant cobra, is kinda 'meh'. One gripe is that it looks like there is a lot of stickers on the pyramid, especially along the bottom. Hopefully thats just on the prelim pics and the final set will have printing.
-
He said they're 1920s-30s Indiana Jones type vechicles

Thanks for the info. I'll probably be buying at least one of each. Do the adventurers have lots of accessories in the sets (ei. shotguns, pistols, dynamite etc?) EDIT: Another question. Does the half track use technic treads (like the jungle cutter) or rubber ones?
