  1. Man, that book is so old even I have it.
  2. So Sabine has changed her hair colour. I suppose that means I will have to buy another set with her in it...
  3. Clever, I like the suit and how you've used the axle parts.
  4. Because a remake is never as good as the original! Except to people who didn't know the original before. I would like exploration based (80s & 90s) stuff again (but we know we will only get conflict based stuff), even though Blacktron was my favourite followed by Space Police (1 & 2). The conflict wasn't the main focus back then though, it was just part of it. The last time we had a space base was 2010, but it was essentially just another black & white police station. (A really cool set mind you!) It would be nice to have something like the bases of old in a vivid colour scheme like Nexo Knights for example. And big flying spaceships. Rovers and mechs are great, but ships please. With stupid coloured windscreens. Or everything in black, but sometimes very dark grey.
  5. I love that smell.
  6. Your post made more sense when I realised you meant "desert"
  7. I think the 2nd Maul face is the best. I only have the CW and the awful 3rd one.
  8. My medium term memory is rubbish these days.
  9. I forgot to mention before about Chinese castles. When I play Age of Empires as the Chinese they certainly do build many castles... Sounds good! I fear the same. Old-fashioned regular Space disappeared long ago. The recent Space themes aren't bad, but they aren't as classic compatible as recent Castle themes.
  10. Surely ( ) the ZX was just so they could use a Jay Z pun... And then later on we get "Jay Walker" Next year something like "Coles Supermarket"
  11. using [ and ] instead of { and }: {spoiler}Darth Vader is actually Luke's father!{/spoiler}
  12. The only vampire with blood on their fangs is the studios one (reverse face), which would of course be fake blood.
  13. I saw a book recently, some grand claim like "the best ideas book ever" or whatever, and the accompanying parts were all classic space colour scheme (no minifig) like Benny's spaceship. Not sure if it was already mentioned in this thread. The model looked like an existing classic set or at least similar to. Not much, but more than nothing. Especially since the other TLM spaceship we thought we might get never surfaced. On another note, out of curiosity does anyone have the green Futuron minifig?
  14. I think most of the "fantasy" elements desired by (some, not all) castle AFOLs are in regard to the races of the minifigs, not the colour schemes or set designs. It seems to me that the dissastisfaction is from people who like their next wave of castle sets to be compatible with their existing collection/setup. Something that augments what they already have. Nexo Knights is too different to fit side-by-side with the others. Just as the brightly coloured knights in KKII with silly swords stood out too much. (The difference there was that most everything else in that theme fit nicely.) The bad guys in this new theme are fine for a fantasy take, if there were grey or black castle buildings and traditional siege weapons / horse carts etc and standard looking heroes (minifig colour scheme is fine, but the technology & weapons makes it too sci-fi to integrate with other castle knights) to offset them I think there would be a more positive response in this forum. Also we like armies of no-name soldiers to outnumber everything else. Obviously there would still be plenty of AFOLs who only want plain ol' knights in grey castles with nice new shield prints, "Classic Castle" to the max. I don't know about the sci-fi AFOLs as a group, I think they would be more accepting of Nexo knights except that there aren't any space ships. Kids are gonna love it. As are AFOLs that love mashups. I have limited finances, and storage & display space. I will save my money for SW, BL projects and computer games. Hope for a traditional castle theme in future that is either straight down the line or with a slight twist. That is what this thread is about, the AFOLs who are never again going to get what they want fantasising about getting what they like that sadly doesn't generate as much profit for TLG as the products that will be available instead. Take note that not everyone feels the same way, there are plenty of AFOLs in the Action/Adventure forum (where Nexo fits) who think it is fantastic (pun intended). But here in historic forum most of us like grey, black, green & brown. (Although I would love a space theme in blue with orange windscreens and guys wearing the space commando armour...) 1. ONE of the castles... should I get hopeful? 2. The only possible precedent is regarding the coexistence of Castle 2013 and LOTR, which defied similar logic and was unexpected. I would be very surprised if a traditional/normal castle theme was released in the next 5 years, especially if the Nexo theme is a hit.
  15. If you quote someone else's white text, the background becomes light grey. Depending on your contrast settings, the hidden text may be clearly visible on your monitor. Spoiler tags however...
  16. I get battle packs, I'll grab Kanan's speeder and maybe the Hoth set. Maybe not. Spider droid is an easy pass, it's way too similar to the last one and has no minifigs I don't have.
  17. From a "can I integrate any of this castlish theme with my existing collection setup" perspective: (which for some reason isn't allowed any more) Sets are worse than I thought, way too much colour. Some cool bits, but the sets are way too silly, just like Chima was. Nice new parts in mostly unusable colours or that aren't worth paying for the whole set. Ridiculous oversized weapons that are unusable. Bad guys look great for the fantasy setting, they are straight outta Nocturnus. I would buy a battle pack of just those. But no, they'll only be available 1 per $100 set. The good guys are too sci-fi for castle use. They might work with the space marine guys. Blue castle helmets are a useless colour, just like the light blue ones from KKII were.
  18. It's pretty much the same part, but the end is less round than the old one.
  19. I'm not against searching with tags/keywords whatever if you are curious about what exists within certain given parameters. I would just suggest that most of the time, people are truly browsing, and such things as tags, categories etc aren't as useful. It doesn't separate the wheat from the chaff, just the apples from the oranges, and the good & bad apples are still all in the one box. And where do the hybrid apple/oranges go?
  20. You can use the search function & tags for those sort of things, they don't need to be categorised for that. You would think that if a project contains King Arthur that the text would be included in the submission somewhere. But encouraging going outside of the box is what Lego Ideas is about, isn't it? You can't do that by trying to categorise everything. And there's no point in having subject-based categories if the aim is for most of them to go under "miscellaneous"
  21. Yes, I think I agree there. Even tagging seems pointless (unless you want to see if someone else has submitted something like yours) since who looks for Ideas via the text content? Search for "car" and out of the 50000 projects 49500 are by Little Timmy and totally suck, 10 are okay, the rest are too big and expensive. And it took you all week just to filter through those. Surely the only way to browse Ideas for something you'd support is by seeing pictures. So, scrolling through thumbnails. The only kind of categorisation that would be of any use would be in regard to the size of the model.
  22. We had a big bucket of Tyco, and the bricks were all in good condition when I gave away all of my non-Lego 4 or 5 years ago. Couldn't say the same for the other brands.
  23. Yeah I saw the prices, EB Games have pre-order on all the yet to be released packs too. Holy choose-your-own-word-here, $170 for the starter pack, $50 for a level... plus I'd have to buy a console to even play the game, what are they $300+ or something? Bricklinking the minifigs looks like it's definitely the go, and I will watch videos of other people playing the game on Youtube...
