  1. That´s the normal way how the stores do it: If they don´t have any of the sets requested (and available on shop@home) the order it and have it shipped to you FOR FREE. You can even come back later with the bill and have your coupon book stamped.
  2. For my part I don't really like the trans-plate-builded car windows. The final effect is, that there is no clear window any more. I know Legoland cars are all made this way, but in my eyes it still lacks reality. But your (giant) fire engine is great! Is it working? I believe it is - can you show us some pics of the extended ladder? Where do you put it? This huuuuge car will blow every shelf, won't it? And one more question: Will a technic-figure fit to the scale you used? Thank you for the great pics of your wonderful built!
  3. Stop nagging me! Seriously I voted... ...BILLUND! Didn´t we say so in Günzburg? And because of our Merlin annual passes I strongly recommend a date around may, 1st. Then we can get into the park for free and spend the money in sets. Otherwise I would have voted for Windsor. The only park in Europe I haven´t been to yet.
  4. Okay, I´m back home from my trip to Berlin. Here are my thoughts about the LLDC, located at the Sony Center/Potsdamer Platz: If you have been to another LLDC, you can easily skip this one. Despite the miniland it´s got NOTHING special you couldn't have seen elsewhere. It contains of 1. Factory Tour 2. 4D Cinema 3. Dragon Ride 4. Adventure Trail 5. Miniland 6. Captain Brickbeards pirate's splash 7. Build and Test 8. Model Builders Workshop The only thing worth going is the miniland. I went through the center in one hour, spending half of the time in the miniland and another 10 minutes wasting my time at the factory tour (this kid stultification is a shame! ) just to get another promo-brick. Okay, I have to say I went to Legoland Germany twice, saw Billund last year, same counts for LLDC Duisburg. I knew I wanted to skip the cinema, the dragon ride and the adventure trail. :skull: The good thing for me was since our last event I´m proud owner of the "Merlin annual pass". So I didn´t have to pay anything to get in (what counted for Madame Tusseauds and the Sealife Berlin as well ) To sum it up I´d say: If you haven´t seen anything from the above, it might be worth the visit - if yes, don´t go there! I´ve been there on wednesday morning right after the opening and it was fun - almost NO kids. I was able to take my pics, had a small talk with the very friendly employees at the shop (well filled shelves by the way!). I made the opposite experience in Duisburg last year: It was soooo crowded. No fun at all. If you´re going there at another time or even at the weekend (please DON'T) you will surely meet a huge crowd lining up at the entrance and an extremely noisy surrounding at the build and test area. To get you some more impressions, here´s a small variety of photos I took: The Reichstag/Bundestag by day... ... closeup ... ...and by night. Party time! Brandenburger Tor (day) and (almost) night. Berliner Dom Gedächtniskirche (put somewhere in a shabby corner - very badly presented! ) The Pirate's splash... Dragon ride build and test creativity area (see, almost nobody there - what a relief!) the Fabrik (wohooo - one child!) the PaB at the shop. Nothing really special there. I bought a minifig (put-together) 1,30€, some laser swords (bars and telescopes) 1€ and two SP III sets. Seconded. Especially the bolded part. Find more pics of the LLDC Berlin in my BS-folder.
  5. I´m going there TOMORROW So stay tuned - I will post some pics and a short review in some days. (Don´t know if I have access to the www at the hotel...)
  6. Nice build. I wonder what those "chimneys" are for, though. I can´t spot them on the photo.
  7. There´s always one who is even later... Nevertheless: Happy birthday, Bonaparte! It was fun to meet you in Günzburg and I´m really looking forward to seeing you again in Billund next year!
  8. Yes - it works almost like the EN car. Great car, btw. (If you just had refrained from photoshopping it... )
  9. Thank you very much for doing this work, Frank! Two years ago I used DFenz "instructions" to modify my 10025's, I believe your list is very helpful for those who still think of converting their cars.
  10. Hi Benny! As you may have noticed, we stayed in Günzburg during our last event in may. Check at the event topics to read about that. Yes, it's 8€/100g, but in contrast to ebay it's brand new bricks. The variety is a lot bigger than in the PaB-walls at the stores, but rare colours are rare at the Fabrik, too. If you're looking for basic bricks (for example tan 1x... bricks) this is the place. In may they had doors, fences and that sort of stuff, too, but don't expect very unusal bricks here. Yes, there is a big city store right behind the main entrance on the left side. You'll get all the actual sets, but without coupons (Merlin annual pass) you won't get any special offer. The parts are all new, but I heared over at 1000steine.de that one member said he got slightly dirty bricks as well. We bought a lot of bricks there as well in may - we didn't have any problems. But once again - the price is not as "hot" as it used to be. Think carefully if this is a bargain or not. It all depends on the bricks you are looking for, of course. If you have been to the PaB in Legoland you definitely don't have to visit the Lego store at Reim Arkaden in Munich. It´s not worth it. Shoot me a PM if you need more information.
  11. Very cool! I´ve got to try this at home... ...with lights. Thank you very much for sharing the pics how you´ve done it.
  12. What a brilliant creation! All the neat details. And I do like the studless platform (not SNOT). Wow, now I´m really glad I didn´t even think of taking part in category three.
  13. This is the actual reason for this topic: Gathering more interest in the events! Want to have such a great set next year? Join us! Btw.: All three event-extra-sets are still on display on my desk/in a vintrine. I love them all, but this years set was the cherry on the cream on the cake.
  14. I fully concur! Everything space like that was built up grey/blue is classic space imo. A good site to get the feel of classic space is neoclassicspace. Advanced techniques in combination with classic colour choice. If you follow Brickset, Classic Space would be 1978-1988 though.
  15. Congrats on your buy, PS! Monorail are always a great fun, especially when you have a lot track. I recently built a track combining the two rooms of my sons. That was a lot fun! I would think over buying 6399 again. If it's for the track only you'll find a lot cheaper possibilities to buy them. This set is awesome but the price also. Have fun in playing with your new acquisition and don't forget to share some photos when you're finished with your layout.
  16. I strongly second this. I also cannot decide which color I shall give my vote to. I´d prefer dark bley to have a street for the modular buildings. The city is a lot more compact here, green would look out of place. Green ones I prefer for "classic" town and country sides. One fact though: The combination of rodeplates. I can only buy straight streets in combination with a crossroad plates? And curves just in combination with T-crossings? How stupid is this? I need a lot more straights and curves than I need crossings... (Yeah, I know - and TLG needs a lot more money...)
  17. I have to agree - very nice loco! Looking at the pics and the colors used I believe it has a real brother. Looking at all the competitors I have to start thinking abou my train...
  18. Exactly: Dr. Inferno is no longer available here. I present: The infernal academic double. Thanks Etzel, your package is on the way!
  19. I still doubt Eurobricks meets the requirements for this, but if ... ... I´d second your fine selection: Trees, plants and stuff - who can have enough of those?
  20. Wow - 4 classic 9V motors. No wonder about the sound then. Thanks for sharing.
  21. That could have been me. I know a certain ambassador who is older, but Colonel beats us all. I don´t recall him having posted lately.
  22. Thank for the info, Copmike! Two things I would like to have clarified: 1) about the 200 DKK (26€): Is that so? For EB (7000 members) that would mean ... well - a lot! Does Eurobricks really meet that requirements? It doesn´t look like it.
  23. Another simple but brilliant idea, Mike! Really inspiring... What color is the phone in the upper right? Looks like dark olive green. Or is it just the light? More information about part 167 here. Come on, Mike - 4 more to go...
  24. After 4 months waiting, getting weird emails and even more weird bills, I recieved my own new remote control . It´s fun and I haven´t noticed anything strange so far. The only thing is: Without any further stuff to be operated by the control it´s kind off lame at the moment. The one wheel controls speed, the other wheel the light. It would be great if additional things (signals, sound, level crossings ) could be controlled with it, too. And there is no clear "0" point for the speed regulator due to the red knob underneath. One could say "It´s not a bug, it´s a feature", though.
  25. Wow, almost too late... Happy birthday my friend! I hope one day we´ll meet again.
