  1. Very nice MOD, PUCI! First I thought the whole thing would have been your creation, then I saw the original 6335. Yours is definitely better! I was always a fan of 6-wide trucks. Your creation fits a lot better to the 4 wide cars. But... the airport fire engine looks a bit ... weird ... regarding the colors. I´d suggest you better change everything to yellow. White and yellow looks And one last note: Try to imagine there are still people with a slow internet connection. (Thank God I´m not one of those ) Your topic contains a huge amount of (small, well done ) pictures. Almost 40! Some provide not much further information than the ones before. Fewer is more in this case. I´m looking forward to see more creations of yours. Did I say welcome already?

Very well said! Klaus-Dieter, please print this comment and stick it to your wall. Whenever you are going to post in this topic, please read it before you post. I can even stand Bionicle (yes, really ), if it helps TLC making money and releasing extraordinary AFOL sets.
  3. Ha! You want to show us your ICE 3? Ok guys, the show is over - we can all go home now. Btw.: Welcome to Eurobricks, Holger!
  4. Great work, I love those biblical vigs. completely off topic: Is it really "fit" the battle? I thought it was "fought".
  5. I don´t recall ANY PF trains to be released except for the EN. Most of this rumours are just wishing and hoping. ...but I´m one of the many also wishing and hoping.
  6. Hilarious! I´ve got to memorize this!
  7. What exactly is the fun in partial bag building?
  8. Looking at the fact that this will be a Factory set, I could imagine 80€ will be it. Nice set, btw.! I wonder though, what kind of brick the ornament above the blind is. Looks like rails...
  9. The roof looks way to big, meaning it comes down too far. Elevate the windows by one brick (using the same brown structure like underneath) and cut the same one brick off the roof. I´m sure it will look much better.
  10. I got an email today that my copy of 8879 was shipped today. Finally! It will be at my place when I'm getting back from vacation - hurray.
  11. Hello to Erbeereis! (hey, that´s what you told me )
  12. Not being the host of the competition I nevertheless think I can answer the following questions: It´s just about the buildings or the engines/trains. So 4 straights should be enough. If you don´t have any track - just post the pics without them. It´s afterall just about the bui... well, you read that. Yep! You may use everything in your kitchen to build the MOC (scissors, can opener, microwave....) But it must not be part of it! The final model has to be made of Lego only. (Ok, forget about the microwave then...) It can even be a super-dooper-space-future-rocket-train. Build whatever you like. Your imagination is the limit. Yes. See above. Now come on! How much space do you need? I´d say No. But I leave the answer open to TheBrickster.
  13. Part no. 44569 ... and DarkStone, OldDarkGray and Tan. Still I prefer the old one.
  14. Your cars looks nice so far, but I have 3 complaints: 1) The windows are too low. I can see just the, not the minifig´s faces. 2) A white roof? Hmmmmmmh. Do they actually exist in that color? I would prefer light or dark gray. 3) No doors? Come on. Keep on building - I would like to this in real.
  15. But... these parts currently exist. Or do you mean something different? Your link provides a page without pic. This is the part: And yes, I agree - I would love to see that specific part back again.
  16. Phew! I´m so relieved you made this MOC before the train competition started. This is for sure a no. 1 MOC. Absolutely great work!
  17. Hi Folks! Looking at the Railbricks hompage (due to the sponsoring of the building contest), I just found out Railbricks issue no. 6 will soon (friday) be released. Pleasant anticipation ON!
  18. Well done Selander! And very brave too to post pics of your MOC so soon. Whatwhatwhat? It reminded me of 4512...
  19. Sorry for posting again, but are monorail trains allowed as well? (I can smell the answer, but wanted to be sure.)
  20. I do understand the reason for smaller layouts, but when I build a layout, I often use the 9V rail crossing. It adds much more fun to it when you drive 2 or more trains at once and have at least one crossing within. I have bought two 4519 to build two independent circles with two "hot spots". Like here: To the right: passenger trains. To the left: Freight trains. Both operated at the same time by children. Okay, during the 6 hours display we had about 3-4 crashes, but nothing too serious. Where would the thrill have been without it?
  21. Sorry, I can´t help you here. But I´m interested in what the others will come up with. I don´t have both kind of tracks at the moment to be sure, but IS there actually a gap when you try to combine both?
  22. I voted "modern", but that mainly for the reason that these engines are a lot easier to build than the steam colleagues. Ingenious built steam engines are great to look at though.
  23. Woooohooo! Great competition! The only problem: I'm on vacation right now and have no access to the train parts. Wait, when I'm back home!
  24. Very nice layout and amount of 12V cars and engines as well, AJW! I just started with 12V trains. Taking into account I have a lot more 9V trains and tracks I´m not sure to expand the small 12V oval track. In private : How much did you pay for all this awesome stuff?
  25. Hi train folks! My Lego related train story begins around the mid 70's. My brother owned the old blue 12V train with the middle power rail. But at that time I was envious about my nephew who had three battery driven 4,5V trains. In connection with some crossings we had some fine crash days! I started 1979 when (classic) space was launched. 6 years later I was proud owner of the complete space sets available at that time. What a collection! I almost didn´t own anything else but space. Another 2-3 years later there were the dark ages My son had to get me out of it again, when 2003 my wife and I were looking for a christmas present. Introduction of 9V trains! We started with 4512 together with 10128 and (my parents-in-law own a carwash) 4553 and of course some tracks. Needless to say I was pretty fast addicted again. I actually never liked the blue trains. When I found some leftovers of our childhood in the attic I sold them at ebay. The train collection grew at the same time my town collection did. I got a lot of sets at ebay as well: 4555 , 4549 , 4532 , 2x10027 and 4554 . The rolling stock was amended with 10205 , 3x10017 , 1x10016 and the blue car from 4563 . When the hobby train set went on sale at the Lego stores I bought two of them. A decision I didn´t regret for one single second. It´s the ultimative parts pack for train enthusiasts! Finally I decided to own the Santa Fe as well, but the set was already discontinued. Luckily enough I was able to get 3x10020 and 6x10025 at a very small local toy shop for the normal price . With the help of this topic and some BL-oders I managed to build this: During that time I also was interested in the monorail system. I bought the 6991 , transferred another engine to a german maglev train, got (just) the train from 6399 (the complete set was and still is very expensive) and finally was able to get my hands on 6990 . So my monorail system is complete. Last year Ras was so kind to sell me the BNSF 10133 . Some TTX-cars would nicely fit to the engine, but these cars are really hard to get for reasonable prices. This year I started with the new PF-train . I got the complete collection with the flexible track (not worth the money in my opinion) and the PF thingies, but I´m still waiting for the RC transmitter. Having won this years event competition allowed me to add another passenger car to the steam engine (see above). The new PF-train and the RC-base I got last year made me think of building RC-trains as well on the plastic rails. I love the RC train rail crossing. Now I own a double circle and my first RC engine MOC is a modified Crocodile: (click on the thumbnail to see the real thing). Until this year I totally skipped 12V. But then someone sold me her complete Lego collection. And with it came my first 12V sets: 7745 , 7866 with remote control and a couple of tracks. I had to add one missing part though: 2731 - the power supply rail to get one complete oval of rails. I would love to add some more remote controlled lights and points, but... you know: Hard to get and fairly expensive Playing with the collection is sometimes hard: The lack of space makes it hard to build up everything. Almost every set ist put away in large boxes in a seperate room where it´s hard to reach the single engines and the other stuff. So last year I decided to show off my complete collection and do something good for younger children as well: The local parish festival in my home town is an ideal way to let children play with the trains, collect some (very little to be honest , I wanted to make it cheap for the kids) money for the "good cause" (all the money earned on the festival goes to 3rd world projects) and have some talks about my hobby. This is the folder of last years festival, here you can find the pics of this year. Sorry, it´s not public by now - and I was too lazy to write another topic here about it so far. But it´s on my to-do-list. Thanks for reading and see you around the new Train Tech!
