  1. Holy cow! We want detailed pics of those terrific inserts! And you are selling it?
  2. @The Otters: Very nice selection, indeed! Especially the older trains sets are a great choice. A nice set if it's the only one, but now you really made me curious: What did you buy at BL?
  3. The guy is still uploading. At least he promised. Good to see the exact prices (for Germany). 13,99€ - Army men 19,99€ - Buzz&Woodies rescue 29,99€ - piglets 19,99€ - City tanker 39,99€ -Creator house Sorry, this is all I'm interested in.
  4. Just klick on "This Part Appears In:22 Sets (View Them)" in the link provided and you'll see the sets it came in. I just realized that the weight came in red as well. Wow. Didn't know that.
  5. Okay, now we have the first pics (thanks Legomilk for that!). Nothing I'm really overwhelmed about. Not as bad as I expected, but still small games without anything uncommon. BESIDES the microfigs! They all look great. and the giant pirate cap on the microfig is hilarious.
  6. Thanky you C'o'P for making this fine review! Finally someone adressed the color problem. In the first review that came out a bit too short. This set ist still a must-buy, but TLC could have done better: The bendable accessories in my opinion are the reason for the different green in that pieces. And the use of light gray parts without any need is simply not acceptable! I hope this is clearly adressed to TLC! (Ambassadors?) After advent I'll change my sig to "STOP cheap Chinese plastic!"
  7. I had a look at the prelim pic. Nothing to be too exited about! It's a push train. Good for younger kids who liked Toy story, but definitely nothing special for AFOLs. It seems as if there are not even rails coming with that set. The set could be good as parts pack, though.
  8. I keep track of my parts with an excel sheet: It's a lot of work, and I'm really behind of being actual right now. But I always have a small list at the end of the spreadsheet what sets have still to be worked on. On the other hand I can always see what parts I can use for MOCs and I have a list/diagram of what color I have in what quantity. (Really interesting I have to say! - Maybe I show a pic of that later on) For sets I use both, Peeron and Brickset.
  9. You just made my day!
  10. Thank you for your replies so far! It's indeed very interesting to see what the members are fond of. Nice idea of posting the purchases theme-wise. But please refrain from posting the thumbnails one below the other. It makes it very uncomfortable to look at. For the ease of reading, please continue in posting them next to each other. Thank you very much! Maybe macoco, legoman and MaxGoof can fix their postings?
  11. So can't I! Errrr - starting with 131? You must be kidding. I won't do the minifig-countdown again.
  12. Looking good so far! Excellent idea to post the quantities as well! I realized that I forgot the sets my son got (mostly from me). Do these count? Poor you! Nice to see that you are still engaged in Lego by posting here. That was my intention. Post everything you bought this year. Regardless of the release date. If you look closely at my first post you'll find some 80's sets.
  13. Every year I ask myself what the sets were, I was able to get that year. This brought me to the idea to sum up all the sets and to post them here. For ease it's just the sets, no BL-orders or individual stones/parts. I'm not much into learning set numbers by heart so I decided to just show the set thumbnails from Brickset. A "u" is placed next to the thumbnail if I got the set used. Here's the list what I got/bought in 2009 (no, there won't be any sets this christmas - otherwise I'm going to update ): u u u u u u u u u u u u u u u u u u u So what did you buy this year? Let the review of 2009 begin! And if you don't know how to do it: Just type "[image]http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/thumbs/tn_XXXX-1_jpg.jpg[/image]" replace the "image" between the squared brackets with "img" and replace the 4 red X with your set number. Or just copy and paste from this first post.
  14. I didn't answer to this thread for a while, but my title changed two times: First there was "Günzburg biased" given by (I think) Ras, because of the place we were looking for our event next year. (I wasn't really in favour of Günzburg (again), but who cares? ) After all it ended up with Billund 2010, while I was favouring Windsor... Then the title after only a small time period changes again to nowadays "Ich bin ein Berliner", because of this thread. I went to Berlin in september and took some pictures. The rest is history. I believe it was Ras again who gave me that wonderful title and I hope it's going to stay looong. I like german history and that quote is a very strong one (J.F. Kennedy 26.6.1963 in Berlin, two years after the build of Berlin Wall: All free men, wherever they may live, are citizens of Berlin, and, therefore, as a free man, I take pride in the words ‚Ich bin ein Berliner‘!) and well known one in Germany. I have to say I'm proud of that title.
  15. Have you ever seen the movie? Woody IS big compared to Buzz.
  16. And I would like to know how the new trains are powered. I assume it is going to be PF-stuff, but you never know...
  17. And another must-have! Thanks again for bringing us the great news, Pugsly! Noooo! Don't wake up a sleeping dog! For sure and this in multiples! I'd especially like to see them in trans-clear. I noticed that, too. This is the news for the color-problem in 2010: No change! Let's hope for 2011 then.
  18. Thank you (lucky bastard) for this excellent review! You guys are soo lucky in getting the new sets so soon, I'm really envious. This set was on my to-buy-list and within this review I want to get it as soon as it is going to be available in Germany. What a surprise - I watched the movie a couple of days ago with my two sons. I know they want to have it, too. Exactly my thoughts. I have to disagree. Woody is way taller than Buzz. The minifigs seem to have the right proportions. Well done, TLC!
  19. The Harry Potter theme always provided us with some rare colors and bricks indeed. This alone makes me want to have HP back! Moreover what's the sense in stopping a license in the middle of its presence ("episode" 4 of 7)?
  20. I fear something similar. The prices are fairly low taking into account that this years games were up to 30€. We'll see with the first pics.
  21. Absolutely brilliant! One more MOC to show around to other people who are not Lego afficionados. But would you please stop making me feel small please? The old problem: What you mean is studless = smooth surfcae (mostly by using tiles). SNOT is, if the bricks aren't headed studs to the top but to the sides or even studs down.
  22. And yet again - absolutely stunning! The lovely details all have been mentioned before, the only thing I can add to this is: How in all the world do you find the time to build all this??? I would be satisfied if I was able to build a small MOC in a month - you build 3-5 big ones in that time. I'm so envious.
  23. That may be the case, but they still fit to the current PF elements, don't they?
  24. Again I'm shocked. Shocked by an absolute brilliant MOC. What an amazing built! Primarily I'm amazed about the fact that you used so many "just" white bricks. It works so well and I've got so many white bricks. I never thought it would work out so nice and close to the real thing. Like the others already have said, the modern part of the building fits very well to the old part. A lot of hospitals have "grown" like this. The hospital I'm working in even consists of 3 different ages of architecture. While speaking of my hospital: Our helipad is even placed on the ground in an inner courtyard. That's even more comfort for the pilots than landing on a roof. It would have been an outstanding building if you just had it build on a 32x32 baseplate. But you had to make it a "multi-MOC" by making it convertible. Again I stand in shock and awe. Hail to the builder I say! Speaking of the baby - the poor one must have a hydrocephalus. Maybe this part would create a better effect? Nothing more to say! Thank you soo much for sharing your A+ MOC. I'm really looking forward to see the interior. By the way: My avatar is looking for a new job (always sickbay is getting boring) - where can he aply?
  25. There are going to be new technic/PF modules next year, all belonging to the LEGO education program. According to this blog and the BS-folder here and here, we are going to get some really nice and advanced features for our electric assortment: The sets are called "9688 Renewable Energy Add-on Set" an "2009688 Activity Pack for Renewable Energy Add-on Set" The sets contain the following: I'm definitely looking forward to the solar cell although I fear it's going to hurt my wallet. I'm not sure about the energy display and the energy storage as I can't find the perfect idea to use it. Well, after all it's LEGO education so the primary target is going to be schools, not the user at home. Same counts for the new motor. Where is the exact niche to put this motor in? 4x6 studs wide and 3 studs high. We have similar motors already. I don't know how to rate the torque and the rotations/minute. Is it faster/slower with more/less power than what we have? At least there seems to be one solution for the latter three devices: ...whatever it does exactly... For more informations read the booklet in this link.
