Need 4 red Neck Brackets with Stud!
Holodoc replied to Dennimator's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Superman? Well, I meant, really, no kidding - Spiderman! And there were two different ones released: and I really get lost with all those super-heroes... So what minifig do you pick, Dennimator? -
Thank you so much for your wonderful creations, Jamie! Even if some others are working on it as well, it's still the modular buildings-line, that really "kicks-a$$" (the forumsoftware will convert it into kick-megablocks ). Lego always has been wonderful and a great toy for younger and older FOLs to play with, you (all) put the building idea to a next, a higher level. We cannot be thankful enough for that. So this is for you: THANKS - and keep on rocking (us)!

Errr... That's why you use a pic of CafeCorner as your avatar!

This is the reason we went to Günzburg last year instead of Windsor. Legoland Germany has got the best offers. But still there may be a chance of getting something cheap. Don't expect too much though.

Happy birthday, Captain! Imperial flagship???

Need 4 red Neck Brackets with Stud!
Holodoc replied to Dennimator's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I'm always in for some super rare minifigs as well: - Superman - Admiral Ackbar - a magna droid - a temple guard 2 from IJ - Dumbledore in light flesh - Ashoka Tano - one of the newer Ewoks choose any -
Beware of the titles! And don't ever ask for one. They almost never show the reality. For more details just head over here. Actually I'm from the far other end of the country.

Actually I think it's more similar to this one: ...it's even 4 years older.

I can help you with that one - if you can be patient until the event... -
Welcome to the international site of Lego AFOLs. Enjoy your time being here, I'm sure all of you will find a niche where you can share your thoughts with us. Btw.: Mahlzeit? Guten Appetit!

What do we vote for? The set or the review? For me the review is outstanding, but the set is (due to the price) below average . But being a townie I don't really care.

Need 4 red Neck Brackets with Stud!

Good luck, Dennimator - this is going to be a tough one! The red neck bracket was only sold in spiderman sets wich tend to be a) very rare b) just as pricey Fingers crossed. -
Come on guys, the shop sign isn't that bad, is it? I for myself have never seen a sign like that: Brick build letters attached to one of those "technic flex-system hoses"? How cool is that? That's a pretty nifty idea and I like it! If you don't like the "SHOP" - well, MOC it yourself. I'm awaiting what all our members come up with instead of "SHOP". Thank you TLC, for a great inspiration.

I believe TLC has discontinued (all/most) chrome parts. The "1x2 plates with grille" have to be metallic silver.

That would bring me to the idea to create signatures that are horizontally stretched rather than vertically. For example if you reviewed 9 sets, why not put them next to each other instead of putting them on top of each other? Got it, Big Cam? This is of course just one example (sorry BC for just mentioning you, but you even posted in this thread). In my opinion every member creating bigger sigs should hold his breath for a moment and think about posting wider sigs instead of taller ones. And think of the necessary height as well. We don't need to see all the variety when it comes to the use of photos in a sig. Just post a thumbnail and a link within it. And I'm not even talking about animated sigs...

Nice deal there, Dennimator! But I have to pass. Hush, hush, don't tell anyone: This is the beginning! days until Eurobricks' event 2010! (hint here.)
-
Exactly! I made this sig just for the fact that TLC is kind of smuggling cheap plastic parts into their minifigs. It all began with the magnet sets. You weren't able to see it from the unopened box and the minifigs looked like the old ones, but having opened those sets gives you an immediate feel that there is something different (low-cost) with the plastic. The colors weren't bright and intense as they used to be, too. Then I bought a "build-yourself-minifig" in the Lego store in Oberhausen and the soldiers torso (seen in the sig) was exactly made of the same cheap plastic. It is rumoured (fact? - I don't know the source) that TLC has got a new chinese plastic factory. We all now fear to have that bad plastic quality in future sets. Just because TLC decided to produce in a cheaper way (= with more profit, because the price stays the same or even goes up ). If TLC ever decides to produce low quality stuff like this, it will be their ruin! Why pay more if you can get the same quality for much less money (like Enlighten and all the other crap)?

Cool find, Dfenz! My son will love it.

Looking for 18 Dark Gray BURPS (piece 6082)
Holodoc replied to frogstudio's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Follow the link provided in my first post. There will be 5 sellers offering your amount, but that may vary for you being located in Argentina. Prices vary from 3-5 $ each. -
Nice building so far, Steve! In my opinion the first floor needs a bit more variety. I don't know if it's based on the original though, so you may want to keep it that way, but for me it lacks ornamental stuff. It looks very plane and "in-line". I noticed you try to break that by using the round bricks at the end and the logged bricks in the midlle, but still. The heavily use of the small windows play a role, too. I know, a lot of buildings look that way, but are these really the best buildings to make a Lego copy of? Last of all I would place the male minifig with the blue coat different. He looks towards to wall and can hardly be seen from the outside. But all that aside I'd love to see more pics of your w-i-p.

Holodoc replied to frogstudio's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
The first thing we would like to know is the exact color: Dark grey (old), or dark blueish grey (new)? I don't think EB is the best place to ask for, especially when considering the amount. Did you try browsing Bricklink? If not, use the links above (for each color) to do so. -
No problem, Dennimator. Here's another one: City Cargo Train Superpack including 7898 (train set) + 7997 (station) + 7896 (curves & straights) + 7895 (switches) for 179,99 € Important note: It's tuesday now and I saw the offer yesterday already. I don't know how long this offer will last. It's a fairly good price. And I will have to travel a distance to get them (it's NOT Italy though ). That maybe tomorrow or the day later. Expect not all requests to be fullfilled. Bargain ON!

I definitely prefer the prefab track! I have grown up with the blue brick-by-brick-track and it was a pain. Especially the powerline in the middle wasn't easy to stick together. Even worse was getting all that stuff apart again. There's just the storage problem that speaks for the parts-solution. If you are building bigger layouts you will very soon find out that the prefab track is a lot more conveniant. Just click and go. (And you need less parts for a complete circle btw.) You can still MOC the prefab track to a nicer look if you wish to, by using 1x1 (round) plates or 1x4 tiles for example.

... and I wonder if there have been any. As these sets are targeted for AFOL's I believe you won't find any. Build it yourself, MOC it, be creative! That's what finally Lego is all about. And your son would be glad if you just give him the complete pile of bricks and let him play. As long as he's not just 3...

Great review and a nice little set! One thing I can't follow: You call a blue steering wheel a POI? I've got so many of them I could stone you...
