Consensus of the new themes: Castle and Mars Mission
Brainbox replied to Berry Syedow's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That's because we're buying them all... That was pretty quick... Especially with all the sci-fi shows on TV now providing their own versions of what spacecraft should look like- stuff like Doctor Who, Star Trek, Star Wars, Battlestar Gallactica. Each is different (and better for it), but that makes it harder to define what a ship should look like. A castle, on the other hand, is a castle. There's not much else it can be. As far as backstory is concerned, both MM and Castle have one. True, it's not as involved as, say, Star Wars, but that leaves it open-ended enough to have ones own interpretation plastered on to it. New characters can be made easily here, whereas with licences and things like Adventurers, they have to be written in to the 'mythology.' With Castle and MM, you just build a ship/weapon/etc, add a character, and there you go. -
Oh, I love the drawing of the Black Skeleton. Nice enough selection of wallpapers, too.
-
Or swing around uncontrolably when the ship's being swooshed.

I am good at maths, but stats is the one area I don't really get. At least in comparison with the other areas. Mmm, ten weeks...
-
Ha, God forbid anyone should actually be able to buy them... ;-) I'll take a look sometime over the next few weeks, next time I'm in town properly. EDIT: Up on Argos website: Movie Leader Movie Voyager (which, for some reason, shows Jazz) Prime Voice Changer Prime Arm Blaster Cyberstompers Movie Deluxe (which also shows Jazz, this time in Legends scale) Movie Legends 4-pack (with what looks like Deluxe Barricade) and, for good measure, Optimash Prime (also available in (my) Game for the same price) There you go Thrawn, Deluxes available here, too. I think they're all 'buy one get one half price' as well. And there weren't that many mistakes...

No, I doubt it's an actual complete circle, but rather a general circular/oval/eliptical shape.
-
My vote went to the 'Viper.' I especially like the cockpit opening, and the overall shape is nice too. Sadly (for me anyway), I didn't enter this. I just couldn't come up with anything, especially structuring build-time around all my revision. Yes, yes, I know build-time should come first... :-P
-
You can say that again! :-D
-
Oh, tell me about it. Two weeks tomorrow and it'll all be done. For me anyway, I know there's two more exams after then. Still, I think it's going OK. Welcome.
-
Huh, like that's going to happen.
-
Really? I thought the trapping someone in chains forged from a neutron star (?) Dwarf Star Alloy, trapping a girl in a mirror, trapping someone in the Event Horizon of a collapsing galaxy and suspending someone in time to watch over Britain's shores was what we all did everyday... NB: That was, of course, sarcasm. ;-)
-
How? I was looking at the hinges which seem to suggest that the wings can swing forward to create a circle-shape.
-
Don't see why not. Steam is, after all, a gas. Other than that, I can't really say any more about this fantastic ship (can I call it a ship?) than has already been said. The propellors are nice, and it's busy but not cluttered, as it should be. Very nice, truly.
-
Especially with LSW and LSWII. It'd be potentially too similar.
-
Not sure what to make of next weeks though. The trailer didn't really give much away. Although this is apparantly the 'Doctor-light' episode of this series (likened to 'Love and Monsters'). Possibly a bit of lighter relief before the hard-hitting series conclusions: Jack, Saxon, etc.

Wreckage, and no he isn't. Yeah, I presumed that. Just remembered another extra scene. Just before the bit where Ironhide jumps to avoid the missliles there's an extra tiny scene which shoes planes actually launching the missiles. Trouble is, I couldn't quite tell if it was an army plane or Starscream. And I think there may have been another shot of Bumblebee being attacked by the government, but this time from a different angle. Not much new, but nice touches none-the-less. Also of interest were two posters in the entrance/ticket area, the 'protect' and 'destroy' ones of Prime and Megs' heads side on. And outside the screens was a huge standee of the same shots of Prime and Mags with Spike and Mikaela stood on a hill (?) in the middle. Funny thing actually, I asked my dad if he'd seen it, and he said "no." How he missed it I'm not really sure...

Went to see POTC3 today, and the Transformers trailer was present. Not much to report, but it looks really good on the big screen. But interestingly, it was a slightly different trailer. There was an extra bit at the end with Spike/Sam talking to Prime through his bedroom window, and the bit where Starscream flys down the street, transforms and skids through the cars was gone, to be replaced by a shot of him and Blackout fighting others (not sure who) in the city. And there was also a shot of someone (either Screamers or Megs) landing hard from a jump. Why no Ironhide here?

'The Family of Blood' Quite... moving. Especially the end, on Remembrance Day. Aah... But with a vision of John Smith's life (and with it what the Doctor could have), his leaving Joan, and the boys valiantly defending the school, a very powerful episode. Not much more can be said to be honest. Except: "He is the fire, and the ice, and the rage. He is the storm, and the heart of the sun. He burns at the centre of time, and can see the turn of the Universe." Wow!

Nice. The wings seem to close on the alien fighter, and the box is pretty nice. 4 Astronauts and two aliens isn't bad either, and I like the look of the bike... from what I can see on the box anyway.

*wub* Yeah, flappers'd need more stylish bobbed hair, or hair that's quite short and styled.
-
Mmm, I stand corrected.
-
Erm, technically no. A vig would usually be 8x8, or possibly 6x6. A 'bignette' would be slightly bigger (obviously). I suppose this could be a vignette-like creation though.
-
Ha Ha! Flappers. That really sounds like a good idea. In fact, if you do the Great Depression, you could have 'organised crime' using the Batman Tommy Guns... And I'd really love a pinstripe suit in Lego form. And I suppose you could have the Daleks as well... ;-)
