  1. OK, so I nipped into the library the other day, only to find IDW's Animated Movie Adaptation. Strange, as I've not found any IDW collections in any shops yet, but never mind. So I borrowed it and read it, and I have to say I thought it was quite good. I wouldn't buy it, but it was a good read. The art was understandably good from Don Figueroa, and the story was true enough to the actual film. A few action scenes, like Hot Rod and Kup driving round the Sharkticon tank, the Junkions attacking, and the deaths of some key Autobots were cut down, probably because they wouldn't fit in either the page count or on the page itself. Who knows? It was good to see Arcee, except for one panel where she appears to be wearing... well, a thong. But aside from that slip (which looks a bit odd) the whole book is worth a read. And Wheelie isn't quite as annoying...
  2. The TARDIS Cloister Bell. It rings to warn of impending (ie. probably fatal) danger or if the TARDIS is dying. It was heard in, I believe Logopolis, Castrovalva, the TV Movie and the Children in Need special. And (I've just checked) the last moments of Resurrection of the Daleks. And TK, as Jinzo pointed out it was mentioned in the episode why Jack was immortal, but we also saw it numerous times in Torchwood itself (which Jack didn't mention in his list of deaths to the Doctor)- he survived a gunshot in 'Everything Changes,' electrocution in 'Cyberwoman,' multiple repeated gunshots in one episode, and an encounter with Abaddon (the taker of life, who Jack overfeeds on immortality) in 'End of Days.' He also survives Carbon Monoxide poisoning as someone else commits suicide, seemingly with no adverse effects.
  3. Yes. Take it seriously, I agree.
  4. Oh, you don't know how many times I've heard that in RE...
  5. I'm not sure actually. It was only suggested in Torchwood that the TARDIS landed inside the Hub, not actually shown outright. So it's possible... A point I was going to address anyway. I'm guessing either we'll find out next episode (about the extra cycle of regenerations, not the Eye of Harmony. Only a Whovian would know that.), or it'll be left to the fans to guess. Perhaps the Time Lords freed him from the Eye and gave him a new cycle so he could fight in the Time War, only to have him run off and hide as a human. So, my thoughts on 'Utopia.' It didn't really get good until about half way through, as The Professor started to realise who he was. Interesting how 'The Sound Of Drums' is the title of next episode... And it's just occured to me that Ace used to call the Doctor 'Professor.' Hmm... Boe's prophecy was also used as an acronym for the Professor, and all the conflicting rumours about who the Master is (Saxon or the Professor) turned out with a surprise- both were right! It's good how everything ties together. And do you remember a while back when I posted a suggestion that the Master had taken over a human body? Well, I was half right I guess. Did anyone notice how Jacobi became a bit Palpatine as the Master? Rasping, hissing, etc. Must be a thespian thing. And there was one point where all Whovians in the country cheered: "I... am... the Master." (I couldn't really have posted any other quote, could I? ;-) ) Oh, I so can't wait for next week!
  6. It also stops other people using my Lego, because it'd take them so long to find anything. At least, it probably would if I knew any other Lego fans...
  7. I don't even have a separate room for my Lego. It's all in my room. That unfortunately means it's wherever it can go. But it's surprisingly not that cluttered. I've only displayed the sets/MOCs I really like, and I've optimised the use of storage containers around my desk so as not to have it full (it's not a huge desk either). There's a box of Technic pieces and a box of assorted Bionicle pieces under my bed, along with a box for MOCs and sets that I've not yet found room to display, but don't want to canibalise them either. I've got a 5 tier shelf with 4 shelves of Lego (and another shelf for useful books that I might need at my desk- DC Comics encyclopedia, Transformers Ultimate Guide, etc), two wall shelves (of three), a full set of shelves for my Batcave, two other wall shelves and assorted other bits of shelf space, which is mainly used for other books. So it's actually quite tidy, but that's because I can't stand disorder.
  8. Rest In Peace, and condolences to all who knew him. If Heaven is whatever we want it to be, it'll definaitely be built from Lego.
  9. The one Bonaparte just pointed out? I think it might be Two-Face from Batman.
  10. Yeah... about the 1 and the 5! :-P (I'm also joking)
  11. Yeah, and we have to wait till July 27th... |-/ The Movie toys are also buy one get one half price at Woolworths. Not much to see in mine, but there was a large tray full of Legends, all thrown in chock-a-block. Talk about neatly organised... Unfortunately the offer started after my purchase last week. |-/
  12. I've just got, kinda like, every type of box I can find. I keep normal 1x2 plates in a PAB tub and I have 6 shoeboxes with hand-made (slightly rubbish) dividers, two advent calender inserts, 10 stackable tubs, 5 small pots, two slightly larger pots, a creator bucket, an assortment of bags from sets, assorted other tubs/pots/boxes, a carboard WIP box in my desk drawer, a set of those drawer-things commonly used for sewing threads, etc (their previous use, in fact), and another similar one, but different 'shape.' Add that to assorted other things stood on my desk, including but not limited to, favouite figures, previous MOCs, a few Transformers and a small radio, and that's quite a full work are. It really is a bizarre collection of containers... but, hey, what does it matter. I know where everything is.
  13. I love the MF. The other two aren't quite as good. Not bad... just not quite as good.
  14. ... because they've drawn other people into Lego. Perhaps people that wouldn't normally look at a Lego set, but now it's Star Wars, Batman, etc they're interested. I agree that licneced themes are less AFOL orientated, but thats not to say AFOLs don't like them. I, fo one, love a lot of them. Star Wars and Batman especially. As a big fan of both, I loved seeing my favourite characters represented as Lego figs. Let's face it, minifigs are great anyway, and have a certain 'cute' appeal, so seeing ones favourite character(s) in Lego form is nice. My only criticism of Batman especially, is that it hasn't gone far enough. You know, there's no Jim Gordon, no Oracle, no Superman, etc. It's not as if they can't be MOCed either. You've seen the number of UCS Star Wars and EU ships models, and people seem to have an affinity for Batmobiles. This was all done before licences, but now it can be done so much better because of the presence of figs. I think a healthy balance should be maintained. Too many licences could be overkill, but I'm happy to see good ones continue. As long as they're iconic themes, and set design/construction stays at it's best throughout, there shouldn't be a problem. Obviously not so much now because of the flesh-tone heads, but before licences presented an opportunity for new and interesting heads. And it's not like price is an issue over here. All Lego sets are expensive compared to certain other countries. |-/ Besides, if Lego didn't have the Star Wars licence, we'd never have got the wonderful LSW games.
  15. My sister was terrified. She insisted on watching it, despite it being billed as 'the scariest episode yet' then promptly wished she hadn't! Well, he technically can't die so that's not a problem, and the TARDIS probably has it's forcefield on. Yes, it'd be a very bumpy ride but I'm sure Jack can take it. Yeah. It was quite good. Especially Jon Culshaw's impressions :-D Well actaually he behaved quite darkly in 'The Runaway Bride' letting the Empress of Racnoss burn. That was because he'd just lost Rose, and he was probably angry here because the Family had forced him to give up both Joan and his new-found humanity.
  16. Maybe... they couldn't find any. Besides, there wouldn't be a story then.
  17. Yeah, I think I did too. It'd be really good to see all the Bond-cars and the like. In fact... Q-Branch
  18. A selection of clips from a comedy TV news quiz here on British TV, 'Have I Got News For You.' It features rotating presenters. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWQFJkDlpgQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ct6KSuX_tjQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlH5rA3eL1M...related&search= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9drUSfRJ8lU...related&search= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpveS2McIO4 (especially the start) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mn9v5nokJtk...related&search= (especially the end) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5bJWef21gM...related&search=
  19. Went into town today, and had a look at the (frankly slightly pathetic) Transformers selection in Woolworths. They had Legends Bumblebee, Barricade, Jazz and Ratchet; Voyager Ratchet and Blackout; and a couple of the other items- voice changer, etc. Anyway, I decided to pick up Legends Jazz and Legends Barricade. And for
  20. "Blink" Not actually a bad episode, all told. There's something inherently creepy about angelic statues anyway, but now they're just full out scary! The bit where the light was flickering was very well done, then having them rock the TARDIS. And the whole theme of time loops, cause and effect, and completing the circle were explored, too. Nice. Apparantly, Freema is staying on next series and the rumour reported on earlier is total rubbish. Next weeks looks good, though. Nice to see a 'proper' actor in the show, and (after all) Jack's back. "Whatever you do, don't look away, don't turn you back, and don't blink."
  21. Oh, you've just reminded me. Torchwood Hub
  22. Yeah, I've heard that can be a problem. I'll be going into town for a browse the week after next, partly to buy Justice League Legends, partly for something to do folowing the end of my exams, and partly to look in Woolworths to see which Movie figures they have. Trouble is, I bet they don't have any I want... |-/
  23. But... if he sells all his Lego, can he still call himself 'lego-uk'? ;-)
