Yeah, I told you the Time Lords resurrected The Master to fight in the Time War. Yeah, I would've said that. Probably not. The TARDIS is now a Paradox Machine, the USS Valiant has been commandeered by The Master, and the Doctor is practically powerless. As for what's down there: the entire human race. Does that question really require an answer? So, my thoughts. It's really hotting up to be a monster series finale. The Master is completely bonkers, but still kind of suave and funny at the same time. And it was good to have the Torchwood team explained away. The USS Valiant was clearly a nod to 'Captain Scarlet,' and we get to see Gallifrey for the first time in the new series. I think the oldish Time Lord was supposed to be Lord High President Borusa, but I'm not sure. It's certainly possible. We still don't really know who the Toclafane are, other than a Gallifreyan story, and we don't know what a paradox machine is. It's probably dangerous. Playing around with time is never sensible. Perhaps it creates possible alternate futures, which shouldn't/can't/won't happen... but now will. And everything ties together! And I was right about them using Jack's Vortex Manipulator. And I've just remembered about The Master eating Jelly Babies. A long time favourite of the Doctor's, especially his Fourth incarnation. And 'the Teletubbies' isn't the first childrens TV programme The Master's enjoyed. Back in the Pertwee era, he pretended to whistle along to 'the Clangers.' Oh, I love in-jokes and references. Oh, one week cannot pass quickly enough. "What this country really needs, right now... is a Doctor."
-
Perhaps his acquisition of a new body simply gave him a new regenerative cycle. But then, of course, they'd need to explain that. There is supposed to be a big battle at the end, or so I've heard. As he should be. It also harkens back to the Delgado Master. Evil, but suave and sophisticated and harbouring a begrudging respect for the Doctor.
-
Especially as a lot of the newer/younger viewers may not have seen the TV Movie. Or, in fact, know who the Master actually is. So, they'll probably have to explain that as well. They've not been mentioned in the series, no. They were mentioned in the Radio Times series breakdown/preview that was included the week the series started. They were mentioned by name, but nothing else. We've no idea who they are. That means it'll be big or surprising.

Aaahhh... cute. It's nice, I like it. In fact, I've always liked mini represntations of actual sets. It's a pitty we don't see more.

|-/ The only other Lego fans I know are you lot here. I know that one of my friends used to dabble a bit, and another of my friends still dabbles occasionally. But I think she prefers Playdoh. No, seriously, 16 and still plays with Playdoh. Then again, who am I to judge? She says it has 'calming qualities.' She vents her anger by playing with it. And actually she's right. We tired it when she came over to my house the other week. I still prefer Lego though. ;-) Besides, I kinda like it on my own. It gives me a uniqueness, and I don't have to share bricks.
-
Yeah, probably. Obviously, they'll have to document the Doctor's escape from the End of the Universe, and apparantly he gets captured by the Master, but they really need to explain the Master's overall grand scheme, his escape from the Eye of Harmony/survival of the Time War, and exactly who the Toclafane are.

Went to see FF2 today, and afterwards walked down into town. I nipped into Woolworths and decided to take advantage of the 'buy one get one half price' offer, picking up the other two Legends figs that were there- Bumblebee and Ratchet. Still no deluxes there either, apart from the Protoforms, but there were some Real Gear figs. So, anyway, the two figs I bought. First off, neither is as good as the Barricade or the Jazz I bought last week. The robot modes aren't bad, but the vehicles are slightly flawed. Ratchet is left with a big hole at the back because of his leg transformation, and Bumblebee has those two annoying squares under his windscreen. Now, obviously, this can be slightly forgiven because of the scale, but Barricade managed to avoid it. Interestingly, Ratchet is the varient colour that's more accurate to the Movie design, as opposed to the normal Legends fig and it's bright neon green: this one's more yellow-y, which is nice. The robot modes are better though, and while Ratchet looks a bit blocky, I kinda like it. Bumblebee meanwhile is just a little bit cute. Although his arms can be a bit difficult to move, as they tend to get a bit stuck against the chest/bonnet. And they cost

Unfortunately, no. I was with my dad and sister, and they kind of rushed me off at the credits. Never mind, I'll see it when it comes out on DVD. Off to see FF today. Couldn't go before now because of my exams. Should be good. EDIT: Just got back, as I went into town afterwards. Fortunately, I managed to miss some really heavy rain waiting for ages to be served in the bank. Anyway, the film. There was hardly anyone there, probably because it was the middle of the week and everyone's at work or school. Seriously, ther was one member of staff that I could see. Anyway, I thought the film was pretty good. I really want a Fantasti-car. I liked how close it strayed to the comics as well. Back in the 60s, Reed and Sue's wedding was interrupted by an attack (albeit completely different), Doom did steal the Surfer's powers and Stan Lee did try to crash the wedding (a great cameo, btw). Power-swapping was recently used in a Galactus story on the Waid/Wieringo run, and the female soldier was Frankie Raye, a later herald of Galactus, Nova. And the bit where Galactus moves through space, casting a shadow across a planet... I'm sure I saw the shadow look like the comic helmet. And I also thought it was funny ( >:-) ) that everyone ran off and missed the Surfer bit during the middle of the credits. I didn't... And Mr Fantastic dancing. :-D

I've heard the Manchester one's not bad, I just wish I knew where it actually is. Well, it's... different. Not that it matters. We won't get it here anyway. Now, if I may, I'd like to just divert attention away from the Movie (and the cartoon now) and towards a concept I'm working on. The basic idea came from Dreamwave's TF/GI Joe crossover (which I haven't read), the one set in WW2. I've always liked the idea of redesigning TFs to give them a new slant/angle. So I worked from there and devised a backstory which incorporated (I think) all the 1984 G1 characters and an assortment of others. Like IDW did, I strayed from the original G1 story, and came up with my own reason for the TFs being on Earth. I've worked out alt modes for all the characters I'm using, which are completely different to the GI Joe ones. Some of the alt modes are based on the role/personality of the character, but most are either based on similarities to the original vehicle or the original transformation scheme. I used Britain because I felt it gave me greater ability in choosing Autobot alt modes, Home Front vehicles, etc. Synopsis Adolf Hitler's Nazis, armed with their terrifying army of transforming war machines, have swept through the countries of the world. Only Britain now stands in the way of total world domination and the completion of a full-scale, worldwide Third Reich. The British nation, along with their Autobot generals; a lone US warship (the USS Broadside) and leader of the French Resistance Arcee, are ready to drive back the arms of the Nazi's rise to power... Autobots Home Front contingent Optimus Prime Ratchet Prowl Trailbreaker Dyno-bots: Grimlock, Slag, Sludge, Swoop, Snarl Gears Battlefield contingent Bumblebee Jazz Sideswipe Sunstreaker Ironhide Wheeljack Hound Other USS Broadside Arcee Aerialbots: Silverbolt, Slingshot, Air Raid, Skydive, Fireflight (based in Britain, but undertake away missions) Mirage (Spy role) Captured Autobots (this'll make sense later) Bluestreak Brawn Cliffjumper Huffer Windcharger Reinforcements Ultra Magnus Springer Blaster (with Eject, Ramhorn, Steeljaw and Rewind) Hot Rod Decepticons Megatron Starscream, Skywarp, Thundercracker Soundwave (with Ravage, Rumble, Frenzy, Laserbeak and Buzzsaw) Constructicons: Bonecrusher, Hook, Long Haul, Mixmaster, Scavenger, Scrapper Octane Blitzwing Astrotrain Reinforcements Ramjet, Thrust, Dirge Bombshell, Shrapnel, Kickback Other Shockwave Sunstorm Actually, that's quite a lot isn't it. I'm going to have my work cut out. A timeline and designs will follow when I have more time to post them. The timeline's done, the design 'sketches' are a WIP.

Mmm, Coralskippers... *wub*

I too have to restack boxes, but because of the relatively small amount of big boxes I use, I tend to just get them all out at once, and position them round the desk I use. Fine, but the problem comes when I have to reorganise them all to get to something underneath or, in fact, get up. I also tend to end up with some boxes on my window. Thankfully though most of my boxes are small enough to keep in their own special place, whether that be in my desk drawer or on the floor next to my chair. I'm also using a few of the plastic boxes from the first wave of X-Pods (round pieces) and from the Star Wars Minis. They actually work quite well.

The Doctor said that his TARDIS was the last one in existence in 'Rise of the Cybermen.' Obviously now that there's another Time Lord running around then it's possible it's not. However, if there was another TARDIS, the Doctor's TARDIS would probably have known- it's not easy to hide a TARDIS bio-signature (probably). Besides, if the Master did have his TARDIS, then he wouldn't have needed to steal the Doctor's. And we didn't see it in the TV Movie either. It'd mysteriously disappeared beforehand...
-
Right, technically, there're two of them. Basically, the Eye is a miniature Black Hole from which TARDISes draw their power. There's the main Eye on Gallifrey, which is linked through portals and such to 'copies' of the Eye in each TARDIS. A great scientist, Omega, harnessed the power of a Supernova and was seemilngly destroyed (in actual facy, he became trapped very close to the Event Horizon). Rassilon (essentially the founder of Time Lord society) placed the artificial nucleus opf a black hole (possibly the same one) beneath the Panopticon on Gallifrey. In the TV Movie, it was revealed that each TARDIS has either a copy or a part of the Eye inside for power. Because of the fact that it's a black hole, if the Eye is left open too long, then it would turn a planet inside out and destroy it. In the TV Movie, the Master tried to use the Eye to steal the Doctor's remaining regenerations, but was instead sucked inside... As of the new series, the status of the Eye on Gallifrey is unclear following the Time War. From the Visual Dictionary, it would appear that the TARDIS still has it's own Eye, which generates Artron energy needed to power the TARDIS. Artron energy is also generated by Time Lords' minds. The energy travels up the central Time Sceptre and into the console, where there is a miniature copy of the Eye (the 'Heart of the TARDIS'). Presumably, the TARDIS needs to refuel at the time rift because of the lack of the main Eye on Gallifrey, and to gain energy from the Time Vortex. Direct access to the main Eye on the TARDIS is through the Cloister Room, which also houses the Cloister Bell. As I pointed out earlier, that warns of imprnding danger, or the death of the TARDIS because of 'problems' with the Eye. As in, it's been open too long, or it's running out of energy. Yeah, that's what I would have said. His Time Vortex Manipulator.

If you hear someone breaking in to your house tonight... ;-) But don't post any spoilers!

Strange thing is though, it's taken from the Lancashire Evening Post (based in Preston, it would seem), but it's about the Sea Life Centre in Dorset. Now, I live in Lancashire, and I can tell you that Dorset is nowhere near here. Dorset's down in the South-West, and Lancashire up North.

:-D I think I heard one of my friends talking about this ages ago, but I had no idea what he was on about. Perhaps because I wasn't really listening. And another one: Spiderman. Weird Al agian, and it features Lego.

:-D That one's great! I've just thought of a classic cricketing gaff, that's bound to be remembered always. I'm not a fan of sport by any means, and I didn't hear this one myself, but: :-D

filling the hole of the SKELETAL HORSES when not being ridden
Brainbox replied to Brick Miner's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Now, I don't yet own any of the horses so I don't know what this looks like, but I suppose you could use some of these to keep with the 'ribs' feel. -
So the 'Rise of the Empire' era, then. The Jedi Purge. Dropship: Depends on what it looks like. The description given is a little lax, although if it's a small set with an 'army build' label then it'll probably be a sort of souped-up battle pack. It'll probably be quite generic if its for army building as well. AT-PT: You'd think it'd be more at home with the OT Empire, but it did serve in the Clone Wars, and Shock Trooper are *wub* . Could be good. Jedi Starfighter: Same old. I'll probably pass. Rogue Shadow: I've not really been keeping up with the EU recently (I used to be quite well versed though), so this has kind of passed me by. However, if the set looks like the actual ship, and has great figures (battle damaged Vader sounds great), I'm getting this. And there's Juno Eclipse *wub* As far as more battle packs are concerned, they'll have to go with the big factions: so we could get more clones, more battle droids, Rebel troopers Hoth or Endor, Stormtroopers (and varients), the Naboo or Gungans. Jedi are out, unfortunately, as they're not all the same.

Nice, and in a similar vein: Aurra Sing

From the initial set list, I'm really looking forward to at least seeing the sets. Let's be honest, they couldn't do it and not have the boulder trap could they? The motorcycle chase should be good too, especially if it's a good motorbike and sidecar design. A WW2-era motorbike would be really cool. And if the final fig looks like that CGI mock-up, then we're on a roll. Especially if it has that pounch-thing. *wub*

Yeah, my friend showed it to me a while ago. There're actually slightly different versions floating around on the Internet. Some of the entries are phrased slightly differently, and a few have extra/less entries. This was the fullest version I could find. But yes, it is very funny, because it's strangely true...

'Here Comes the Sun'- The Beatles It's just finished, as I write this.

Right, not a video, but I thought it was funny the first time I read it. Yes, I've posted it here before, but never mind. Please, no one take offence from this, none of us come out of it too well. And I've seen that missile one before. :-D Actually, it was quite dangerous, wasn't it...
