*wub* Davros... Hmm, must've missed that. I'll have to check. He was 'killed' at the end of 'Genesis' after he asked his Mk3 Travel Machine ( ;-) ) to "show mercy." He was later revived by the Daleks to help cure a virus, then apparantly killed again. He then turned up creating new Daleks loyal to him from cryogenically frozen humans at a respite centre. He was then revealed as the new Dalek emperor in the Seventh Doctor serial 'Remembrance of the Daleks.' As stated, he isn't dead (as far as we know), and has been referrenced a few times in the new series. They then migrated to Telos after Mondas' destruction. 'Our' Cybermen have been seen in the new series once though- in Van Stattens bunker, and original Cyberman had is on display. Interestingly, in the 'Doctor Who Visual Dictionary,' which I purchased last week from Asda for

*Sigh* I miss a day's worth of discussion, and look how much has happened... My point exactly. I'm pleased... Apparantly, the third trailer is being attatched to POTC3 and Spider-Man 3 (week 3), and the Shreck trailer is supposed to be exclusive. If it is exclusive, it may not be online. Sadly. Really?

Probably... Nice set. If it's a decent enough price (which it probably will be), I may get a few. And I love the trns orange piece. *y*

That actual pic is a model though. Not mine. Nice soldiers too. The mask/helmet especially has a look of something sinister. Something to do with not being able to see their faces...

Hey! You stole my name... (yes, I'm called Sam too) ;-) So, erm, welcome. :-)

Besides, a lot of casual fans, or new fans may not know what the original bots looked like. For some, it's a whole new thing. It's about creating a fine balance between sticking with the original, and renovating it with a new twist. Definately. After all, they are supposed to be 'robots in disguise.' True. But I guess the Decepticons were redesigned to be more visually striking and war-like. I mean, which is scarier; old Megs or new Megs? Well, true as that is, I was making the point that it's different. If the characters are similar enough, and the storyline is good, who's to say that this movie won't be given it's ow, albeit different, slice of 'greatness.' I think I remember hearing about this. Instead, a TV movie was made with a new Eighth Doctor, Paul McGann. That was different: a new Doctor, a new TARDIS, a new Master. A bit like this, perhaps? Only slightly more shard-y? If so, now re-used as a Spider Dalek.

Wrong. Resurrection of the Daleks When? That's always been a thing on Doctor Who though. It's part of the charm. Besides, the Daleks think of themselves as the supreme beings. That is, no one can stand in their way. Even though the Doctor can, and has done countless times before, they still believe they can beat him. So, what's the point of killing him: they know he can't stop them. And he'd probably just regenerate. It's possible, as the lightening conducted straight through his body. You have to remember that the Dalekenium at the base of the mast served as an enhanced conducter, and the source of part of the Dalek DNA (which, as you rightly point out, came from the tubes). If the Doctor got in the way of the Dalekenium, then the part of Dalek coming from there was corrupted. And he's a Time Lord. Who knows.

Hi. Might I ask where you're studying? Well, erm, I guess just enjoy it here. I'm sure you will.

At a guess, walkers. I'm still liking the MX-11. Really, I don't think I said... :-P

I'm more intrigued by the 'download an alien font.' Cool! I've already taught myself to write Kryptonian, now I can learn Martian...

It's the tentacles that bother me. They look a bit... you know... Anyway, I like it. Sure the classic Dalek is scarier, but this is menacing as you see what a Dalek could have been. It serves to increase the obvious inhumanity and cruelty of the Daleks. Next weeks looks really good. Especially the scarecrows...

Cold Turkey..? I'd forgotten about that. What I meant was, that everyone complained because the designs were nothing like before (with the exception of a couple of characters). All the 'truck not monkey' stuff. Bear in mind that this isn't supposed to be a G1 movie per se. IDW successfully updated the designs for their G1 comic, but that worked because it was G1. This movie is based on the original story, but so were Armada and RID. No-one complained that they were too different when compared to G1, so what's the difference here. It's also worth noting that making a direct, exact G1 movie would have meant a lot of characters (Autobots especially). That may have alienated certain people, especially those who aren't hardcore fans. Now, I could recount all the original crew of the Ark, but could a lot of other people? This movie is just a new re-imagining of a classic. Everyone has a favourite era, just as everyone has a favourite Doctor, or a favourite Star Trek. If these designs aren't your liking, fine, but I for one like them. It's a radical new angle I grant you, but it by no means replaces the original. Perhaps they aren't accurate, but lets be honest, neither were the original designs. At least in terms of science as we know it. Who knows, maybe Cybertron exists, and the inhabitants all look like this. You all stick to what you like. I quite like the blockiness of Transformers, but I also like the new take. Perhaps it's worth giving it a try. Then if it's rubbish and doesn't work, fine. EDIT: New UK Transformers comic info: http://www.titanmagazines.co.uk/titanmag/a...Product&sp=S919

Yeah. By all means voice your opinion and criticise the film... after you've seen it. You really need an informed decision. Sure, it's not G1, but then neither was Beast Wars. I personally think the new designs look pretty good.

Wanted: candidates for a new contest for a fighter
Brainbox replied to snefroe's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
What?! We don't! ;-) I'll probably start work on my entry towards the end of the week, after I've got some exams out of the way. -
It looks kind of 'classic Batman,' but obviously not as classic as the yellow oval. With special drawn-on eyebrows. Or should that be Bat-eyebrows? Perhaps we could re-do the Batcopter with extendible Bat-ladder and a can of Shark-Repellant-Bat-Spray! :-D Just elongate the tracks and stick a huge cannon on the front. >:-)

Looking at the toy, and the placement of wheels there, that's probably the case. He did have a trailer back in 1984, a trailer that mysteriously disappeared during transformation... *wacko* As for a trailer now, we've not seen anything to suggest it. I think I remember hearing that he didn't though. And the scout car was called Roller. From Hasbro Transformers website: and

I think you mean, like how things normally go with Shakespeare. Ahem... the theory is that Mr Saxon is the Master. Sorry. Funny you should mention that. On Doctor Who Confidential last night, Russel T Davis said that he thought sci-fi should be representative of it's era. The worst thing you can do is make it "timeless." For example, the spacecraft in Doctor Who when it started in 1963 were invariably saucer shaped, but look at them now. In the same way, ships in 10 years time will all look different again. Actually, the writer mentioned in Radio Times that he thought the two episodes were set in "the same visual universe," in that the feel is the same and the basic theme is similar. And we got another new suit: a blue/purple pinstripe. *y*

'42' Oh, what a great number: the real-time idea was interesting, and it was good to see the Doctor in a spacesuit (strangely similar to the last one...) again. More of Mr Saxon (the 'election day' could prove important, seeing as how Saxon's running for PM), and we get to see the Doctor really scared. "Burn with me..." Ooh. Did you spot the Beatles in-joke? I did, but the rest of my family didn't: following the Doctor failing to answer the Elvis/Beatles question, the Doctor tured away and said "Now where was I? Ah yes, here comes the sun." *y* Next weeks looks good, especially the Jack Straws.

Those prices are probably wrong (ie: too low) already! :-D

Exclusive EB Review: 7093 - Skeleton Tower
Brainbox replied to Starwars4J's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Hmm, I like the Wizard, the bone cage is really great and the lightning-things are good. As for the princess, I think I'm in love! ;-) Other than that, it's not bad, just not great. -
This one? http://movies.yahoo.com/summer-movies/Tran...430/trailers/31 (I've posted it already in the Transformers thread)

Yeah, I'd like to second that. I think it may have been slightly modernised, but it was definately recognisable. That was, as you say, nice to hear. I think that's just your computer. It's green on my computer now. I think it's because you (and now me, apparantly) don't have the necessaries to watch it in HD. Which is odd, because I must have had them yesterday. If, as you do, you want to see it in all it's true glory, see a smaller (but not green) here: http://www.seibertron.com/news/view.php?id=10334 I'm actually now quite liking the look of Starscream, not least because of the bit where he transforms in the air over the city street, lands, and skids through the cars. And Bonecrusher has roller blades! :-D

I'm sorry, but this just deserved it's own post. New trailer: http://movies.yahoo.com/summer-movies/Tran...430/trailers/31 My God. Wow...

There's an MP here in the UK trying to get the government to pull out of all subsequent competitions because of the 'corrupted voting system.' In other words, he's bothered because we're not involved in any... :-D

I'd also love to see a modern Riddler with bowler hat and suit. *wub* Bane looks really cool... And I've just noticed, the Bat-symbol on the blue Bat is different. *y*
