  1. Okay, look at the blonde-haired fig with glasses. Now look at this from my Brickshelf gallery. What am I doing in a set? Does this mean I'm famous?
  2. Apart from the rumour that the Master was in the series finale. Which obviously turned out to be true. That was such a great programme, wasn't it? For the first time, the Master was shown as truly mad, and I mean absolutely, completely bonkers. Which was worsened by hearing of the destruction of Gallifrey. I mean, keeping the Doctor as a pet. And did you notice how they looked just ever-so-slightly Davros-like? And of course it broke his hearts because they were humans- a race the Doctor has had an affinity with over the years. In the Radio Times, she categorically denied that she was leaving. So, she'll probably return sometime. Unfortunately I missed it on Saturday, we had a power-cut. |-/ Some tree roots in the underground lines, apparantly. So I watched it last night. So overall, 'Last of the Time Lords' was a great episode. Not quite as overly dramatic and explosive as the past two series finales, but still brilliant. It had a lot more emotion. And it's the Master. It was great how they surprised us with so many things. The Toclafane were Utopia human, Jack is the Face of Boe (that is so great), and Martha's given up permanent travel. It was good how the Doctor just acknowledged it in his usual way, knowing that he'd perhaps not treated her that well, and thrust a lot upon her. I don't think any of us saw those coming, especially the Jack one. And the Axons and the Sea Devils got a mention. That made me smile. And I guess I was half-right about the Paradox Machine. It was fitting for the Master to die, even though we've lost one of the best villains of the series. But has he gone for good? Because who picked up his ring? But he finally won in the only way he knew how- he made the Doctor alone again. That was so good. It also seems to suggest that regeneration doesn't occur automatically, but need to be wanted. Hmm... And I've just read on the official website that 'Toclafane' translates roughly in French as 'fool the fan.' :-D "The drumming. The never ending drumbeat. Ever since I was a child...when I looked into the vortex...that's when they chose me. The drumming. The call...to war." Christmas looks interesting. The Titanic must've struck the TARDIS with some force in order to break both the interior and exterior shells. And the link to last series end was unmistakable- "what?" And of course Jack's back with Torchwood, just in time for Series 2. It's been a great series. Macra, Daleks, the Master. And it's all tied together. How good is that? Roll on Series 4!
  3. Hear, hear. Or the seventies. So many classics that my dad enjoyed then, still enjoys now, and has got me enjoying too. Anyway, currently listening to 'Don't Stop Me Now'- Queen As if I needed to tell you who it was by... ;-)
  4. It's partly the fact that all the adult Transfans grew up on the show, the comics and (of course) the toys. Everyone has a favourite character, toy or generation. There's a core fan-group who're devoted to upholding the stories, etc. Trust me, I am one. I'd love to see more comics stuff. Extend the Batman line to include other DC characters and locations. You could do maybe two or three sets for each major hero/heroine and include a few villains. Bases and vehicles aren't out of the question either- the Watchtower and the Fortress of Solitude for bases, and the Titans jet for vehicles. There's a wealth of characters and teams available- the JLA, JSA, Teen Titans, Outsiders, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, etc. I'd also love the same done for Marvel. The Baxter Building with Fantasti-Car and Pocket Rocket would be so cool. Again, so much to chose from- FF, Avengers, X-Men, Spider-Man and all the Marvel Knights. The only trouble with these would be once you start to do some of the main characters, you'd end up having to do all the main character, to please the fans, especially completists. For example, you couldn't do the Avengers and not do Thor, say. The other problem would be the molds. Headgear, special capes, special tools and equipment would all have to be made, not to mention the problems that characters like Mr Fantastic and Plastic Man would throw up. How to make a stretchy fig? But wouldn't it be cool if their arms actually did stretch... Doctor Who, of course, would be another must-buy for me. I've reeled off plenty of set ideas in the 'Doctor Who Lego' topic. Transformers would be nice, but only if done right. And I mean absolutely right. As in fully-integrated transformations. This'd be especially good if they used the new IDW vehicles/transformations/robots. *wub*
  5. Yeah, thanks for mine as well. :-)
  6. I hope not, I really want these.
  7. Hopefully that means the UK one will be up/out soon. I think the date on the back of mine says that the prices 'expire' tomorrow. That means I should get it in the post sometime next week.
  8. Minus glasses. Strange how they don't have them.
  9. It looks like either Megs or Screamer. I like how they've been showing all the cars at the events, press showings, etc. Nothing like a bit of real-life publicity to get the fans drooling.
  10. I assumed he did, but I don't really remember. :-$ I think I've seen them all, thanks to Seibertron.com. That fight looks pretty epic. There's one advert where we get to see Mags transform, I think, and another where Screamer tranforms in-flight. And, actually, another where Blackout jumps forward, transforms (huh, what else?), and flys away. Oh, how they tease us with the many cool transformations! They've always been my favourite bit, the actual mechanics of the transformation- where everything goes, how it all fits together. I won't rest till I've figured out a transformation scheme, which is perhaps why I'm ensuring that all my WW2 re-designs work. "Don't judge a book by it's cover."
  11. I have a lot of my favourite minifigs stood on my desk. Just so I can be with them always... Included are Spider-Man, Danju, a Viking, Palpatine and Guards, a Gamorrean Guard, Batman (running), and an Ep3 Clone Trooper (also running). I think I would have to say my favourite is the Viking. There's also a fig of me, and a shelf next to my desk with all the Bat-villains as well. They're quite cool, too.
  12. Yeah, evil dust! >:-( :-D That's quite a good idea, why didn't I think of that? At the moment I'm using a collection of (clean) paitbrushes. Last thing about the vacuum, I promise. Thta's actually a good idea in theory. In practice though...? So have we. We couldn't get our hoover to suck anything up, then I realised there was something stuck in the tube. It turned out to be a pencil. *wacko* Oh, I like those shelves. Clean, but not clinical. Very smart! I'll have to try and get some photos of my storage, shelves, etc.
  13. From the Movie, that'd be incredibly difficult. Have you seen the designs with the thousands of interlocking parts? It'd be much easier to do the classic 'bots. Bumblebee is correct. From the Movie: Autobots Optimus Prime Ratchet Ironhide Jazz Bumblebee Decepticons Megatron (Megs) Starscream (Screamer) Barricade Frenzy Blackout Scorponok Bonecrusher Brawl And it's cute! I dunno, it's been proven that Lego Transformers that actually transform are possible. I believe it's known as a "Lego-former". *wub* UCS Shockwave... I know this'll never happen, but it'd be nice to see. Thing is though, I'm a little bit glad that we don't have official Lego TFs, and that's coming from a big TF fan. I'd prefer to build my own TFs the way I like to, and not have Lego do them their way, which may not be to my tastes. I much prefer actual transforming TFs, not LFs (with one exception of my own design), so it could come as a disappointment if they didn't have self-contained transformations.
  14. And with the Master revealed to have survived the Time War, the possibilities of otheres are there. Perhaps The Monk/Time Meddler, Rassilon or Omega. I, for one, would love to see Romana back. Oh, just thought, the Zygons! Or, perhaps the Jagaroth, Sil, the Menoptra or the Zarbi... ;-) :-D
  15. Was it the red noses or the big shoes that gave it away? Yeah, there do seem to have been an awful lot. Not that I'm complaining, mind. That is cool isn't it? And, of course, there's the presence of the original transformation noise. I don't think I've ever read a movie script before seeing a film. Partly because of the spoilers, and partly because of the fact that the finished film is often different to the early script that was posted.
  16. I actually don't mind the flames. They could've gone over-the-top and painted them all over Prime, but they didn't. It's no different to G1 Jazz having his stripes, and Ratchet havong all his medic deco. Besides, it's a different truck. Flames on G1 Prime probably wouldn't have worked, but here they do.
  17. Or, of course, we could get a Dwarf Spider Droid. Again.
  18. I guess Prowl is the bike. That's an interesting direction. I dunno, this could turn out okay. I actually like the look of Bumblebee, and Ratchet looks quite nice. I'll reserve judgement till it comes out. Right, as promised, I have the first design 'sketch' of my WW2 re-designs. I'm not the best artist in the world, but I like it, and try to focus on the design more than anything else. I've worked out a full transformation scheme, so it's correct in that sense (at least, as much as it can be). So, without further ado, I present Bumblebee, now a Universal (Bren Gun) Carrier. I choose a Bren Gun Carrier as the alt mode partly because it's small like the VW Beetle of old, and partly because I felt I could use a modification of the old transformation scheme to good effect. So, to transform from vehicle to robot (hope this makes sense): 1. Pull front section (cabin) forward to straighten legs, and slide wait section forward and up so it sits where the cabin was. Rotate feet up, and fold down small stands (the grey things opposite the treads). 2. Fold down sides of rear section to floor. 3. Slide rear panel section (half the back, half the bottom and the folded down side) round to side of adjacent track. The middle section stays in place. 4. Pull the inside of the middle section out in both direction to fill out body. 5. Pull track out and up so they sit in the correct place. 6. Pull hook-and-mudguard assembly up to meet top of torso. Flip head up (head sits under vehicle at a right angle to the hook). 7. Fold out fists, and place particle decelerator in hand (stored on underside next to head). As I also promised, a timeline will follow when I have time to post it. I've already started work on Ratchet, so that should be up soon.
  19. Unless, of course, they're in such a remote place thet they haven't picked up any messages. Oh, God I hope so. Davros is great, especially in his first appearance 'Genesis of the Daleks.' My dad remembers seeing the end of part 1 where we just see Davros for a few seconds, and everyone thinks "Who's that? He's half-Dalek!" Well, let's face it, the 'biggies' are Davros, the Sontarans, the Ice Warriors, the Silurians and the Sea Devils.
  20. Not C-3PO? ;-)
  21. That was another thought I had. But then, why would they be killing everyone? Hearts ;-) And it occured to me that if it was either, it would be HMS because it was designed by Saxon in his role as Minister of Defense. But yeah, it would be neither being a neutral territory in international airspace under the control of UNIT. That's another thing- it's always good to see UNIT, and nice to know they haven't been forgotten. Huh, yeah!
  22. Like me, for example. Trying now to think of an idea to make this post worthwhile... Jedi Academy
  23. Watched 'The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear' yesterday. A wonderfully funny, silly and utterly daft film. The big jokes are funny, but the best bits are the little things that you sometimes miss. There was one scene where Drebin was walking through a crime scene, and all the bodies had been stencilled round. Amonst all the outlines was a stick man, and an Egyptian sand-dancing. :-D That was near the beginning. You can see where this film is going...
  24. Hmm, dunno. I just assumed USS. I'm not sure it was specified in the episode, actually, so I'm not sure where I got that idea from. Y'know, that was a thought that crossed my mind. It's certainly possible. What's interesting is that The Master said their identity would "break The Doctor's hearts." Wouldn't dream of it. ;-) That's one thing that fueled my suggestions about the Paradox Machine. Perhaps he's one of the 'last vestiges of humanity,' who're holding out against The Master and the Toclafane (or whoever they are).
  25. Well that was inevitable wasn't it. Too little human story would discourage some of the more down-to-earth movie-goers who aren't necessarily big Transformers fans. It'd certainly be nice to think it was intentional.
