Just a thought, but if these 'Impulse' sets are supposed to be a small minifig/accessory set (as I hope) that we'll buy on 'impulse' to help reach a monetary amount, or buy to fulfil a Lego craving, then doesn't us deciding to buy them kind of defeat the point? ;-)

As do I. It's definitely pimped, and it's cute to boot. And there's lots of chrome ;-) And I was very good in not voting for myself. Good luck to the other participants :-) . Oh, and thanks Dillon :-) .

More likely Zeus. Thor would probably use his hammer. :-) Anyway, welcome to EB.

A completley new, orignal idea!!!
Brainbox replied to Zaktan of the Shadows's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Do you mean what pieces would be used? Or what transformation schemes would be used? For the latter, whichever scheme the character had. Obviously, you'd struggle to do the Movie ones, but the original blocky ones would be 'easy' to do. As for pieces, you could use any of the hinge pieces in different ways: a multitude of click hinges, the 1x4 swing hinges, that sort of thing. And use different pins to hold the bits in place in either robot or vehicle. -
I heard about this. As a young child I used to love them, as did my dad who used to read them to me. I can still remember a lot of them. My dad's favourite was Mr Tickle, and I think mine might've been Mr Strong (actually, I still have a Mr Strong Hot Water Bottle cover :-$ ). And it was funny, because my Primary school headteacher looked like Mr Fussy :-D .

Yeah, I saw this the other day. The robot is marginally better than the vehicle, but neither is brilliant. And why does he appear to have no eyes? Or, in fact, tell what they actually look like. And this is coming from a 16-year-old boy. Less is more, and all that.

Which is better, Star TREK or Star WARS?
Brainbox replied to vahkimetru's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I've got all the important ones! The Episode 1, 2, 3 and OT Visual Dictionaries; the bumper Complete Locations book, and cross-section books for Ep 2, 3 and OT (I could never find the Ep 1 one). And a starchart poster, slightly out-of-date now we've had Ep 3, and a b&w locations book I picked up on sale. Oh, and a few issues of the UK factfile collection... but only a few. -
According to someone (sorry, I forget who) over in the Theatre section, there will be '08 Batman sets. Perhaps they're just not Jan assortments. Interesting to note that the Star Wars Battle Packs have been given names other than '______ Battle Pack.' EF sounds interesting, and I'd like to know what this Impulse is. Perhaps it's deodrant :-D Obviously we knew about Indy, so nothing surprising there. And a new police station, nothing new there.

Despite my usual aversion to modern music: I Can't Decide- Scissor Sisters Not actually a bad song.

We lost a broomstick/Wizard's staff during our school production of The Tempest. Everyone was running round backstage (during the performance) trying to fing it, until it turned up in the universal dumping ground... the power box for all the stage lights. It was funny afterwards... but not so much during the play.

Is it okay for me to be scared? Nice, although my first thought was one of fear for the minifig. I like the beetle-type look, squat but still agile, etc. Nice use of parts, as *vader* said, especially the Piraka head-tails which I'm a fan of. Even though I don't actually own any of the mini Piraka.

Nice. Slick, solid, and looks like a classic transformation. Which is good, simple, classic transformations are good.

No problem at all. If you're MODing a set, and don't like the cockpit, would you leave it un-MODed because no-one will see it? No, you make your corrections. It's the same here. And you never know, someone might ask sometime "can I have a look at the inside of that plane?" And you can say "yes" safe in the knowledge that it all matches. Well, you never know...

I did the lights for our school productions, and now I'm helping with an amateur panto starring people from school, but it's not related to school. If that makes sense? I know it's not acting, but if anything, I have more power than the actors. I can plunge the show into darkness at any minute, so don't upset me! :-D

Yeah, I was thinking that. Why would he need a new one? Anyway, it's always sad to see someone go, so I hope you'll be back soon.

Which is better, Star TREK or Star WARS?

Yeah, but half of the appeal of the Original series is that it was a bit cheesy sometimes. I mean, come on, the red shirts always die on planetary expeditions, there's always a transporter malfunction, they always seemed to be orbiting the same planet, there were always some rocks that bounced, and then there's the falling about on the bridge when the Enterprise is under attack... If it didn't have all this, would it be half as watchable? -
This is very nice, and as a big fan of Transformers, I know what I'm talking about ;-) . Both the robot mode and jet mode are sleek, and I know that Transformation sequeces are often difficult to acheive in Lego-form. The colour scheme looks better in robot mode than in vehicle mode, but that's not to say it's bad. Overall, a very nice piece of work. Welcome to EB :-)

Nice, but I think the front wheels might be a little too big in comparison to the rear ones. The whole vehicle should slant forward slightly.

Cool, I look forward to it. I went to the library the other day and found Stormbringer (according to the online catalogue they also had BW: The Gathering, but could I find it?). Anyway, like the other IDW stuff, it's very good. With (frankly) a huge cast of characters, all with 'retro' Cybertronian modes, which are just downright cool. Pity most of the characters don't actually transform, so the alt modes are left ambiguous. Still, I'll definitely be buying it, Infiltration, Escalation and Spotlight vol 1 when I can actually find them. EDIT: In Tesco today, I noticed that the Classics Prime/Megs Final Battle set has been marked down

As long as you drew eyebrows on Batman's cowl... I'd certainly hope so! You'd have to do versus sets, and sets with a number of figs in, who are somehow related. And there's bases. For example, you could do the Fortress of Solitude, and include Superman, Krypto, Lois Lane, Supergirl and Bizarro. Or Titans Tower with Robin, Cyborg, Wonder Girl, Deathstroke and Starfire. Green Lantern you could do a small set of green bricks, and include a few civilians, a rogue (say, Sinestro) and a bit of scenery to make it so it isn't a figure pack. Flash, you could stick him in a Watchtower set, or in a Javelin. Sure, there wouldn't be as much appeal as with Batman, but there's definitely some classic characters who need to be done. Trouble is though, once you do some of the icons, you have to do them all. For example, you can't do Supes without Lex Luthor, Bizarro or Mr Mxyzptlk.

'Sock' and 'Doll.' That sounds like some bizarre fantasy... I've never met another AFOL either, but I try to slip both words into conversation with my friends as much as possible, just so they'll remember what I am. To them, it's just another thing to remember, to me it's a way of life!

Oh yeah, I didn't notice that. It's even worse as it looks like it might be an official picture. Strange you can't remove the gun from Prime. You'd think he'd want to put it down sometime.

Hmm, perhaps. Still,
