  1. +1 for my man charlieboy's hookup!
  2. Hear hear... IMO people who claim Lego for the sole purpose of reselling it are not real Lego fans. A generalisation, but that's how I feel. (Says the guy who has two X-Wings for sale. ) Back to the subject: I did pick up two boats yesterday (one from Smiths, the other from Toys 'R Us) primarily because I wanted the bottle piece. And I also felt dirty having to buy the News of the World. The filthy habit continues tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday.
  3. I mostly design and build whatever I feel like building, based on ideas I have. Pandering to the masses is a profitable but saturated market!
  4. I was fortunate enough to get hold of more than one X-Wing today... although being in London was a huge advantage. I would never in a million years otherwise buy a tabloid newspaper! Having had a look at the other models, the only ones of interest are the one tomorrow (mainly for the bottle) and the Ninjago set with the phoenix.
  5. No problem. They had that part at Westfield, but no flowers. In one of the "display" holes at the very top of the wall, it looked a lot like they had leaves as well, but I don't know.
  6. It reminds me of my delicatessen building, especially the ground floor/shop... but you've executed the whole building a lot better! I also like the colour combination for the building, it's very striking and unusual.
  7. One word: awesome.
  8. http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=SilentMode - enter at your peril.
  9. I've told a few people recently that I've gotten into Lego. Some people recall their times when they played with it and had their own collection; other people have scoffed. Either way it doesn't really matter, because we're not... (can't say that word here )
  10. I thought I'd follow suit and offer some of my items for selling and/or trading in a thread. These items aren't in my BrickLink shop, so they're being offered here exclusively. If you see something you want, send me a PM with your offer, and we'll see if we can reach a deal. There's only one rule: no reselling! I would rather have my items go to someone who wants or collects them. Here's the first batch: The Brickarms part is: M1 Garand Rifle (trans red)
  11. Back from Westfield. They have the Pet Shop set on display in the front of the store, and it really does look good built. Of note: The PAB selection was in the process of being updated, so it seems like Tuesday's the day to watch out for new activity. The selection as it stood was no better than Bluewater's yesterday, but they had more of the holes filled and the Hero Factory selection was gone. Be warned: the only small pieces on offer were white dishes and flower stems. They're now offering grab bags, which are basically bags of random parts from previous PAB walls. The bags themselves contain more than enough to fill a small PAB cup, but they tend to have a lot of one or two particular pieces in each bag. They're going for £5.85 each. Plenty of discounted keyrings on sale. Was almost going to get the Sensei Wu Ninjago spinner pack, but it was £9.99. The set contains a holographic player card, a special edition gold battle card and several weapons. That's all.
  12. I would be all over a seven deadly sins theme.
  13. Back from Bluewater with an update... The PAB section was disappointing today: for the most part just your usual bricks and Hero Factory parts (though a smaller selection of Hero Factory parts than Westfield). Some of the sections on the wall were even empty. I've been told that they're expecting their next PAB shipment tomorrow... in fact their PAB shipments come on Tuesdays. (Not sure if it's weekly or monthly.) These were the parts in PAB of note: And in other news: A number of keyrings are stll discounted: Atlantis ones are 60p, the white classic spaceman and Max are 1.50). The female magnet set is still £5, and Toy Story magnets have been reduced to £6.99. The Valentine's Day set (the little book with a heart symbol) has also been reduced. The Bluewater store still has the Winter Toy Workshop, for £44.99 (more expensive than before? which is why I didn't get one). They also have the Winter Village Bakery, for £35.99. Build-a-Mini selection was similar to Westfield's the last time I posted. Finally - in case nobody's already mentioned it - the Pet Shop will be in stores tomorrow.
  14. Congratulations - as everybody else has said - to all the winners, and especially all the other participants. I think we should have a similar competition for the Town and Space themes, which I would certainly take part in!
  15. That would actually be cool. I'm just saying, because of how things have gone so far with the builds, let's not automatically exclude less experienced people from RCBs in general.
  16. As stated before, if it's a Space theme then I'm in. On another note: not suggesting it's happened, but let's not restrict participation in RCBs to the "elite" or most experienced members. Otherwise, call it an RGB (relay group build).
  17. That's an awesome looking car! I like the fact it has a boot as well as side doors. I want to make a few for my own collection - do you have instructions?
  18. Welcome to the show! That's exactly how I built up my collection after coming out of the dark age, starting from nothing. Just be careful not to get addicted!
  19. Is that all from one cup? If so that's pretty good!
  20. Thanks for the heads up, I'm looking to grab all of these.
  21. They're in Toys 'R Us over here as well, in case it hasn't been mentioned already. The marina is around GBP 41.99; the harbour is around the GBP 80 mark.
  22. I pretty much have the same sentiments, but it might be a different story once they're released. The only ones of interest right now are the zookeeper, graduate and lizard suit guy, perhaps the eskimo as well.
  23. Thank you very much guys and girls!
  24. My favourite part has to be the secret cave, with the crystals and the stalactites. An excellent MOC!
  25. Some blurry photos... I will update these when I get the chance. The roof: The living area: The shop: I did spell Cecilie's name wrong, my eyesight has been going recently!
