  1. Great review of this set (which was far more humorous than mine). It looks like you've had the same kinds of issues with the figures and accessories as I have, and you've even given the same kind of score. I bought both this set and the Town-themed set, and I definitely think now that the Town set is better value for money, overlooking my preference for the Town theme - but they are both horrendously overpriced, which made it difficult and painful to purchase them.
  2. Well it looks like you guys are having a kick-megablocks time in Windsor. I can't make it unfortunately, as I have to take all the work I can get.
  3. I was going to ask that myself. I would guess that a minifigure would count as (hips+legs) + (torso+arms+hands) + (head) + (helmet) + (jetpack*) = 5 parts. I've had a look at the model, and great work so far. I've got a couple of ideas floating around but rather nervous. * I've always thought of them as jetpacks, even though they're oxygen tanks.
  4. +1 to escortmad79, representin' all day every day.
  5. So I've been getting to grips with MLCAD and LDraw and those other programs... a pain in the neck so far, but I think I'm getting somewhere. I've managed to get hold of those missing parts, but I've had to add them back to the LDraw model. I'm having problems using LPub, however: it doesn't play well with 64-bit POV-Ray, and crashes when using LDView. In short... I'm not going to glue the model(s).
  6. Glue it is.
  7. I've been thinking of trying to sell some of my larger MOCs. Assuming that they actually sell, I'm debating whether to disassemble them and provide instructions, glue the models or just re-assemble them. I'm mostly thinking about how they would be transported. I would go with the first option, except not all of the parts are available in LDraw - when I open the models I'm mainly missing windows and doors.
  8. My dark age was from the mid-90s, all the way up to 2010, so I had no knowledge of any of the themes from that period... I guess I missed those ones.
  9. My brother came across a rip off of Collectible Minifigures a while ago, not sure where from or which company. The series contained ordinary townspeople, like firefighters, police people and criminals. He had one of the firefighters, which to the untrained eye looks a lot like genuine Lego, accessories and all (the torso printing gives it away). The figure was slightly taller, and the arms, legs and especially hands were very stiff.
  10. I've got a couple of Thursday's set I think: because of my situation I've sold six. I would be keen on Jack's boat, the ninja glider or the plane.
  11. I've gotta say, I love the execution of this MOC. Some of the interior details remind me of my house MOC, and I particularly like the use of a short-haired female as the muse!
  12. You should be able to buy less than three figures, it just works out to be cheaper per figure if you buy them in threes. Over here they're three for £3.50.
  13. These goody bags are still on offer... A small lot of assorted antennae, poles and rods. The infamous "bag-o-Bionicle": assorted Bionicle parts I haven't been able to get rid of and are a nightmare to list. There are 350g worth of parts in the bag. More parts and things from my private collection are up in my BrickLink store. If you're interested in any of these bags, or anything in the store, send me a PM with your best offer.
  14. Starting tomorrow, in order to raise some emergency funds, I'm going to be selling most of my private collection of bricks and parts. Stay tuned for more info.
  15. There won't be any Harry Potter sets.
  16. Not enough to clear a store; they were spread across three places.
  17. I managed to get quite a few of today's set, but I'll be selling/trading some of them (to FOLs).
  18. Two more sets to be given away this Saturday and Sunday: courtesy of a post on BrickLink.
