  1. Wherre was that big Tesco that had Series 4 early? Perhaps they have them?
  2. Very envious about the fences, and the 1x2x5 white bricks/panels.
  3. Looks so simple but very effective. Brilliant!
  4. Very nice work! The hovering vehicle was a particularly nice touch.
  5. POTC Captain's Cabin is only 8.99 at Argos: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9355983/c_1/2|category_root|Toys+and+games|14417629/c_2/2|14417629|Lego+and+construction+toys|14417829/c_3/3|cat_14417829|Lego+and+Duplo|14417832.htm?Price+Cut=1
  6. Nice!
  7. In the last couple of weeks, bought a City of Atlantis set from Argos, two 8x16 and three 8x32(?) white baseplates, some very useful minifigure parts and some cool PAB parts. Came very close to treating myself to a Pet Shop.
  8. Thanks for the link. I will definitely try to get down to STEAM, circumstances allowing. I'd also be up for going to Stratford's Lego store when it opens.
  9. Yes, I did mean the 24th.
  10. I couldn't find this magazine in Smiths, and I've checked two. I would really like to get hold of Jay.
  11. I think it's time we brought this back, seeing as it was a great opportunity to meet other members, as well as do some trading. Pinky and NovaStar were usually behind the meetups, but they're quite busy these days so I'm putting it out here. If anyone's keen I propose a meetup next Sunday - probably more convenient to do it at Westfield, although their selection isn't usually that great. Also, since I've closed my BrickLink store, I have quite a few bits and pieces to trade.
  12. +1 for RubeusHagrid and charlieboy, partners in trading.
  13. Parts or not, that building looks nice still. It might be worth putting my VIP points towards this!
  14. Check out that hangar roof and glass wall!
  15. Well done on winning! The MOC definitely has a classic 80s feel to it - the combination of the minifigure torsos, the style of the vehicles and the printed bricks used. What's there not to like?
  16. I would be devastated if they meant a minifigure pack rather than an actual set. But in the small print they mention they may use alternative parts if the original ones are discontinued, so there might be a chance the winnig minifigure will be reworked. I'm sticking with my original vote, but here's hoping an alternate cheerleader will show up at some point.
  17. I don't remember seeing them when I went to Westfield yesterday, but I'll keep an eye out for them.
  18. Just got an email from Lego VIP, and I'm sure most of you guys has as well. It's probably even been posted somewhere else! and in the small print: My all-round vote is for the S1 Cheerleader.
  19. My money's on North America, again. But at least this time I won't be doing a perilous hike.
  20. As a small heads up: I bought a 7985 (City of Atlantis) set today, and will be offering some of the parts for trading after I've had a chance to build it. I know someone was after the gold ornamental fish a while ago, but I'll post the parts that will be on offer at some point in the future.
  21. Any guesses as to what the "grand opening" set will be?
  22. The City camper (7639) is the cheapest I've seen it on Amazon right now, but the prices on there keep changing. http://www.amazon.co.uk/LEGO-7639-City-Camper/dp/B001U3ZMEU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1310239047&sr=8-1
  23. That many? I guess I was nervous about adding details.
  24. Fortunately Elves, Spartans, Dwarves etc. aren't my thing; I remember how hard it was to get a Spartan when S2 came out. Part of the appeal for collecting so many Gorillas was that initially they weren't very popular, although I liked them from the beginning - it also helped that there were four in a box.
  25. Maybe
