    I originally wanted to do dark brown but I couldn't find all the different size pieces in that colour (1x8 plates and pieces for the roof) so I gave on that colour and settled for black. Thanks for the feedback. Thanks. Since I started building this last year my photography skills have improved as well as my building skills. I also started using Lightroom and Photoshop which has helped heaps as well.

    Hi All, Here are photos of the next section of my castle, the Tavern. This is now 11 of the 12 sections completed so I'm almost done. I've made the corner tower of this section timber to add something a bit different to the castle and break up the greyness of the castle. C&C welcome.     The dwarf hammer is a good design (I haven't seen it before). Good build overall. I certainly wouldn't want to have this aimed at me :)

    Hi All, I've completed the Gatehouse of Coltherstone castle. I've now completed 10 of the 12 sections and busily working to get the last 2 sections done in the next month. This was a fun section to build as I had to make the drawbridge and the portcullis operational. The drawbridge is controlled by some wheels just inside the doors. On the top there are sections that open so that you can control the portcullis. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out as I tried to avoid it being too blockish. C&C welcome.     Can someone answer why we get charged a currency conversion fee when purchasing from S@H? I know it gets shipped from my overseas but I'm buying from their Australian store in Australian dollars.

    Hi Everyone, The Stables of Coltherstone Castle is complete. This is one of my favourite builds so far. I had some fun with the minifig placement as well. So now I've completed 9 of the 12 sections! Should have the last 3 done in the next month or so. C&C Welcome.     Hi All, I have finished the next section of my castle. Nothing too much going on here just a couple of houses and a well. And since this is an internal section of the castle there is no wall which is nice for a change :) C&C welcome.

    I ended up biting the bullet and ordering from S@H earlier this week. This latest wave was so hard to find in store that I didn't want to risk missing out (even though it cost me full price). At least it was free shipping given the price. I also picked up a few other S@H sale items while I was at it.

    Have to do about 2 sections a month as I want to have it finished by April to display. Currently waiting on a bricklink order before I start the next section.
