Another castle refresh so back to the standard/basic sets again. I prefer once a theme is established so you get more unique sets (mill raid and the like). Shame that it signifies the end of the kingdoms line.

Wow. You've been busy :)

Has anyone seen barrel escape in stores? -
After years of buying lego as an adult (13 now) I've finally decided to get into MOC building. Obviously to do this I'm now starting to sort my bricks which I'm finding hard to do. I've always kept my bricks together in the sets I bought them in. The only time I've mixed bricks is if I had multiple copies of the same set. I have to admit, putting all my bricks together (sorted) instead of by set has been a difficult adjustment for me to make. The mental barrier I've had to break surprised me a bit. Perhaps it was the thought that if I ever want to make any of the sets again I'll have to do a big brick finding exercise first. Another thing I've found is I'm now buying a lot of storage containers to organise the bricks. Almost spending as much on containers as on Lego :) Has anyone else experienced this adjustment. Or do people sort their bricks differently?

My lord! This is amazing. Nice work. Where are you sourcing all the pieces? It must be costing a fortune.

MOC: temporary wooden castle using Western pieces

I'm also jealous of your collection of wooden pieces. I've had a few ideas that would be based on these but lack the parts to do the build. -
I've got a couple of these. Very good set to have multiples of.

That's a nice little set. It's actually something that LEGO would package and sell.

At my local target (Merrylands, NSW) I price scanned Kingdoms Mill Village Raid to see how much with 20% off. They scanned at AUD$19.83! (I think full price was AUD$119). I took all 3 they had for less than AUD$60.

My wife thinks every year is expensive for LEGO :)

There does seem to be way more licensed themes now. All the heroes, star wars, tmnt, lotr/hobbit, cars, etc. Tough when these lines last for years and overlap with a normal lego line (like castle). Although even with Star Wars there has still been space related themes come out.

I just bought my second MMV. Exciting to have another set of this for buidling (I'm just about to start getting into MOC building). Also got the Kingdom's Chess set for the minifigs (Seemed like a cheap way to get a heap of army figs). Got all the LOTR sets. Not sure if I'll get any second sets here as I've also bought all the superhero sets as well (and am saving up for the hobbit sets). The monster hunter castle does look like a nice castle set (ignoring the theme). Tempted by a second Kingdom's Joust but haven't secured approval from the wife yet :)

A nice and simple set. I like it. It's definitely something that fits in with the current kingdoms line. I'm am sad to see this line end so quickly. I thought that it was a nice change from the more fantasy based previous castle line. You've inspired me to go and see if I can make a set to compliment the kingdoms line.

I got some of my old stuff out of storage for my 2 and a half year old to play with this weekend. He had fun for a few hours. I had forgotten how good some of the old stuff was (and no stickers!!!) Not too bad. The stable looks like a nice simple build.

That collection is impressive. And the old stuff looks in good condition as well.

Just started picking up some of the LOTR sets. I like the new wall pieces (1x2) with brick patterns. Sooo many stickers though. Also, is it just me or does having alternate faces for Gimli seem silly since you can only ever see his eyes...

Got half a box from Target in Blacktown today. It was the last they had. Ended up with everything except the zombie and cheerleader. Happy to swap and trade if anyone is interested. Have spare Clowns, Cowboys, Astronauts, Scuba divers and Nurses. -
I prefer the bows as well. Perhaps it's because I remember them fondly from the old castle sets back in the 80s. Crossbows are ok, but I was hoping for a change back to the bows this year.
