  1. These look great, especially the SWepV ones. However, I find the intensity of the background color highly distracting and it seems to be shifting the color balance of the images - a neutral background will be better.
  2. Lucio - be prepared to be tired for the next 18 years or so. But its a good kind of tired!
  3. I have my son make LEGO models to demonstrate the key features of some of the chemical processing equipment we make (Boss,"whats that?"; me "thats the CO2 tank and feed hose")
  4. Nice excuse for a road trip. I vaguely remember driving through those tunnels when I was much younger, and I see you enjoyed your time in Breezewood. Also stopped many times to see that old ship off of the QEW - a good distraction for the kids. Well worth it in the end!
  5. WOW. This has to be one of the best 1H line up ever - no construction machines at all... Let's wait for the images and set details before passing judgement. I do agree that surpassing 2016's sets will be a challenging. Also, "one man's junk is another man's treasure" .
  6. 42039 24-Hour Race Car - Theme: Technic year: 2015 Brickset Rebrickable Bricklink LXF file - LDD version 4.3.9 brick version 2075 Errors: no stickers 2x 71986 corrugated pipe 88mm (silver) not attached at one end, insufficiently flexible in LDD 2x 32005 track rod 6M (black) not connected at one end due to failure to get stupid $#(!@ knob gears to mesh at correct angle 3x 32235 flex rod 19M (white), despite name, are not flexible in LDD, placed along side model, and replaced with 76257 in model
  7. My kids going to have a mental breakdown with the train - his two favorite things in the world combined . He spends hours building Minecraft trains in the game, and MOC'ing LEGO trains IRL.
  8. I'm guessing that the 'RC' means upgradeable, which is typical for the largest of the 1H sets. We can add PF to the set, or that PF2 is ridiculously inexpensive (doubtful) or the price is wrong.
  9. If you want to do the math, a one stud brick is 0.8 cm wide, so 100cm is 125 studs. If the build is sparse, LDD should be OK with a project this size. After about 4 or 5000 elements it will start to bog down.
  10. Nice modifications - since I don't yet have the set, is there room to mod the cabin to make it minifig scale?
  11. Very effective and a nice thoughtful design as well. And well balanced which is important, as I have seen centrifuges "walk" off of lab benches. Did you get an estimate of the RPMs? I'd expect that coal/water is fairly easy to separate, curious about the particle size of the coal.
  12. Big time! What a great mash-up. Congratulations Paul.
  13. Sariel's hamster project is Staff Pick of the Day on LEGO Ideas! Congratulations Sariel!
  14. Posted on the Rebrickable blog - "Fun fact – the recent LEGO Digital Designer update was a direct result of some problems we encountered during this project. However, the future of LDD is still a bit of a mystery to me!" The project referred to is the newly launched LEGO Remake site, and the 'me' in the quote is of course Rebrickable's Nathan. Not certain the implications of this, other than LDD may now get supported due to the needs of Remake, provided Remake proves popular.
  15. Its going to be hard to build in LDD, as coming up with a replacement for the large 1/4-circle gear racks will be challenging. Probably need to replace them symbolically with flex-axles or hinge plates. I don't have time now to work on something like this, maybe later this summer...
  16. Good job everyone, and congratulations to the top two winners!
  17. my 8 year old kid build 8480 space shuttle no problems, and nearly all of the parts are either black, white, or old grey - no color coding. Adding 10-100 parts per page, no problem. B-model instructions in the very thin single instruction book . I think too much coddling to kids is going on here. But then again, no one is forcing us to buy or build any of these...
  18. Grum, great thought. It will be good to get for the kid for Christmas
  19. Nice review, and incredibly, its for sale at Amazon as "legoelieds lepin 05001 Star Wars Rey War chariot" the same seller has a wide range of other direct copy stuff
  20. A nice find by the way, as these parts in black or white, regardless of friction or not, are greatly sought after
  21. Thanks again for all the tips. I'd be getting some JB Weld ABS Plastiweld...
  22. The grey one has ridges that stick out on the pin side - difficult to see in the black pins, BTW. Best is to test each one and see how easy it is to rotate.
  23. Setzilla rules - but a shame it doesn't do its primary function of excavating, without stalling. Can you lower the bucket wheel below grade? And then dig into a "brick pit"? Would need a lot more bricks, but may be worth it
  24. Good advice all, thanks and appreciated! I may just get a loop of the R56 and maybe some Kragle and base plates to fix them. My son likes working with parts and MOC'ing, so he will figure out the best way to get them to stick together. He is already building straight sections with some old rails I gave him, building his own straight track sections.
