  1. Thanks for the comments - he's going to be a Druid, but hopefully he'll get kind of a "heavy metal" feel. The cannon helps a lot with that. Hmmmm. Does anyone know when Elphaba is coming back? Although I don't think she sold any of the "big three" you mentioned.
  2. Heh, I like Flipz' ruling (and chart - someone give him something to do!) but WBD did make the thing. How can I get a final ruling? Appeal to Sandy?
  3. Speaking of which... How does this work with the Ranger Shield skill (or similar actions like Battle Mage, Mystic Knight, Raider shield skills, etc)? For example, given five enemies, I target enemy 1 and roll Shield (and let's just say I'm a Ranger, level 1). BAD 1 - 11 Damage = Initial Target [5+1 DMG] + Hit by Cannon on Shield (1 of 2) (Listed Above) [5 DMG] BAD 2 - 16 Damage = Hit by Cannon on Initial Target (Listed Below) [5 DMG] + Hit by Shield (1 of 2) [5+1 DMG] + Hit by Cannon on Shield (2 of 2) (Listed Above) [5 DMG] BAD 3 - 11 Damage = Hit by Cannon on Shield (1 of 2) (Listed Below) [5 DMG] + Hit by Shield (2 of 2) [5+1 DMG] BAD 4 - 5 Damage = Hit by Cannon on Shield (2 of 2) (Listed Below) [5 DMG] BAD 5 - 5 Damage = Hit by Cannon on Initial Target (Listed Above) [5 DMG] It gets even more complicated with fewer enemies.... Does that look right? Also, on a normal attack, does the cannon do only WP damage to the enemies listed above/below the target, or does it do total strength damage? I've marked it with only WP damage above. Next question: what happens if a Druid/Evoker/Paladin/etc rolled Shield with the Fireball Extraordinaire? That results in a situation where the targeted enemy doesn't take damage, but does the cannon still hit the enemies above/below? What about on a Mystic Knight roll of Enchantment? Sorry for a million questions! And thanks WBD for a cool toy!
  4. Thanks! I was already planning to switch to the Abraham Lincoln hat/beard combo (ever since I actually went through and read the section on Gnomes in the library ) but I certainly didn't expect to get handed a cannon! I'm planning on making Matthias a darker character - he has one quest under his belt and doesn't feel out of place anymore, and he's found that he enjoys the rush of battle, but he's also figured out he wants to be a healer... anyone have any advice on an offense-focused druid? Anyway, I had a new avatar cooked up but it just looks so much less awesome with his old tiny crossbow.... If you think that one is terrifying, try this: P.S. - If anyone is wondering about the effect, my wife has a purple laser pointer that makes trans-neon orange pieces fluoresce really nicely...
  5. Matthias is overcome by emotion at the grand gesture, but the weeks of travel with the Mercutio's Smile and the long series of battles before it have wrought a new confidence in the ranger. He bows low, doffing a top hat he's acquired along the way, and says as he returns upright, "Many thanks for such a gracious gift and for such gracious travel companions. I will endeavour to put it to its highest and best use." Math then slowly (laboriously) pushes the big gonne onto the barge, turning to wave and await the rest of his party. Note: Matthias should have 143 gold (53 from before the final battle, 60 from battle loot, and 30 Hero fee from Boris). Awesome quest. Thanks for hosting! Looking forward to the comments/discussion.
  6. Matthias sees Baradock hesitate and wonders what's going through the barbarian's mind. He shakes his head, disappointed to see Baradock go, but resolves not to give up on the quiet hero. The gnomes then focuses on Boris and Cinna. "Looks like we've done what we can to clean up the mess and gathered what's left of the wagon... what now? Ready to be off?"
  7. Right back up in yo megablocks. Those are hilarious - thanks for sharing! WBD/CMP, any thoughts on when quest 89/90/Orc party/Circus troupe is going to get wrapped up? Hooray!
  8. Thanks, though it's really just more of a breezy sunshade.
  9. Thanks! I wanted to get something into the GNAR contest, but it was a quick build and I don't really have any boat pieces, so I had to use a little humor in the description.
  10. A modest entry in the Merchant Marine class, on behalf of Kaliphlin: The Ahok.
  11. My entry on behalf of Kaliphlin for the Great Naval Arms Race Contest (also Approved UoP DoH credit for Trade and Law: shipping by sea / water): While the Ahok is really only a shallow-bottom cog used to ferry customs inspectors from the pier to merchant ships arriving in Kaliphlin's harbors, don't tell that to Capt. James T. Kaulk or his pointy-eared first mate. In his mind, every time the Ahok sets sail it's to defend Kaliphlin against the invading horde - and in the end, his boat could be used to move boarding parties in a naval battle... if no one else was available.
  12. This is certainly the golden age of minifigures, with the Collectible lines, the great LotR/Marvel/etc minifigures being produced... Welcome to Eurobricks!
  13. Those are some of the best minifigs LEGO has ever made, in my opinion.
  14. Happy Birthday!
  15. Sounds familiar - it doesn't seem to matter how much space I have, I still run out of room. I do envy you having a local LEGO store; we have everything else you could want here in Seoul but not a LEGO store.
  16. "Thanks, Dyric." Matthias nods to the more experienced ranged fighter.
  17. Matthias watches Baradock gather his things and move towards the ship and swallows the sense of betrayal he's nurtured for months. "Baradock," he calls out, "won't you stay with us, big guy?"
  18. "Well," Matthias says with a sidelong grin at Boris, "I may as well give it to you now, since Boris assures us there won't be any more ...interesting times. Thank you for letting me borrow it; I apologize that we didn't win any gold!" Math hands Dreyrugr his Hunter's Plate and wears Grimmau's Clothespin.
  19. May we quest, but not live, in interesting times hahaha.
  20. Yes, but isn't that (part of) why we all play the game? If I went on a quest that didn't have battles and assassins and monsters, I'd expect there to be some really cool lore/character development/loot, or I'd be really disappointed.
  21. Just making sure I understand the mechanics of what's happening here: we (original Quest 90? or everyone?) can each make a choice to go with the circus troupe for a continuation of the quest, or we can get on the boat and be done, and the choice is individual?
  22. "Just so long as we aren't expected to 'pick up' any 'ambassadors,'" says Matthias, "it sounds good to me." Guts' callous pronouncement shocks Matthias as much as Raguel's execution or the pools of blood surrounding the bridge's corpses. He's momentarily astounded at the Raider's lack of empathy, and eventually looks to Purpearl gratefully, remembering that in battle only the 'coward elf mage' had stood up to him, giving strategic direction that didn't involve getting Heroes killed. The young ranger isn't sure what to make of this: a hero he's only just met is leaving Heroica, apparently for good. Is there life after Heroica? Is there another great adventure? Once upon a time he had dreamed only that there must be more than this gnome-barber's life.... The assassin's query rings in Matthias' ears as he remembers he's wearing borrowed armor. He pulls off the Hunter's Plate and walks it over to Dreyrugr. "Are you coming with us to the Low Kingdoms?" he asks, holding the armor out. "If you are, I'd like to go on wearing this stuff - it helps a lot! - but if you want it back I understand."
  23. Matthias accepts the gold from Boris and weighs the options in his mind - he's had a fill of adventure that won't soon run low, but he's never been to Duplovia. "Boris," he asks, "are you planning on stopping by Drandora? My family are there and it would be nice to visit. I think I'd like to come along regardless." Having said it, the ranger is suddenly more certain that he would enjoy some further travels before returning to Heroica Hall.
  24. I will say that the Baltarok trilogy was probably not the best quest for new players (me), but it worked out fine in the end. If I am correct, long, involved, 20-hero battles are pretty rare, and I think they need to stay that way. I think one month should be kind of an upper limit for a quest - simple, short, sweet. Then again, I'm sure it's difficult to do quests that quickly when players aren't responding every 24 hours.
