  1. There are various way to select multiple parts. In you case, probably the classic selection rectangle is the best way. Otherwise you could "disconnect" two sections of your building removing few bricks, and then using the "connected selection tool" (the one with the selection arrow and an * ) to select all connected parts together. In general, I suggest you to use the "group" function of LDD, creating hierarchical groups while you are creating your assembly. Groups allow you to select one or more of them, easily splitting your building. I'm not sure about what you mean with your question about building instructions. Anyway, did you check the topics about instructions listed in the Section Index?
  2. There are various options, for example you can use the hide tool, or you can select part of your model, move the selection, add the part and then compose again the model.
  3. I discover this model just now, and the wasp for the 7701 is great, same level of the Stealth Wasp. Does someone has some kind of building instructions for it? Step by step images or photos, or a digital file.
  4. Collision errors building official alternate models of 7700 and 7701. In 7700 it is impossible to connect the nose of the vehicle to the bottom part. So I had to rise the part with one plate (that I removed, so the nose is disconnected from the body of the veichle). Besides, the windshield don't connect the 2x1 plate in the "more ahead" position. In the 7701 the shoulders (both right and left) don't attach the brick structure below because of a collision error. In this case too, I had to rise the parts using a plate, so that shouders are disconnected from the body of the model. Here you can download the lxf files.
  5. LDD has a grouping function. You can create, edit and delete groups. From the "groups" tab, you can select a whole group and then move it together. This reuires the extra operation of select the group before moving it. There is no way to permanently group parts so that these behave as a single part.
  6. In order to place a piece in LDD, the piece have to be connected to another one. In your example, googles need to be attached to a proper helmet like this one. Otherwise the object can be only placed on the ground. If you want to place a part "on the air" you need a scaffolding (a structure that you use to place the piece and you remove when the piece is placed). Note that pieces selected together moves together. PS: try to choose a more significative title when you open a discussion.
  7. Please list the entries that you are not able to download. Probably I'll able to provide you the files even if these are not available now. Unfortunately it is not possible to periodically check thousand of entries listed in the index, so these entries remains listed even if the files are not available anymore.
  8. @JunkstyleGio It is not possible, but you can manually separate the hand from the rest of the torso editing the lxf file, and then put the torso aside. With a search, you can easily find more informations somewhere here in the LDD forum. The post was from bbqqq. EDIT: here is a technique that exploits the rotation tool.
  9. A screenshot including the weapons you are asking for would be very helpful to detect them.
  10. Here are the links of my version of Gnac's gallery. Here is the gallery. Here is the source file (the last two WIP versions).

  12. You are absolutely pushed to check errors and inaccuracies. It helps to maintain a better index. Maybe a private message is a better way to communicate this kind of errors (maintain the topic more "clean"), but this way is good too. It seems that these days I was very inattentive! Many errors this time! I've fixed all the errors you reported in the database. I'll update the index as soon as possible. About the "Scorpion Palace and Foam Scimitar", the name is the one used in Bricklink, because the Index Manager uses Bricklink database (the assignment of the name is automatic). Note too that often the Alternate models don't have a specific name, so it is not so strange that it is not specified in the index. As there is not an automatic way to get these names, I usually base the comment on data reported by the builders. This time it seems I forgot that! EDIT: index fixed, check it again!

  15. Now the crop is perfect, thanks! ;)
  16. @JGW3000 Remove the blank space on the top and on the bottom and the image will be perfect! A good crop allows you to have a bigger subject with an image of the same size. You can take a look on how other builders cut their image here. Thanks!
  17. @JGW3000 Welcome in the Official Sets topic. The post is very good, but the image need e better crop. @PeabodySam Don't forget the last point of the Questions/Answers list above!
  18. Very interesting. Maybe you can add some preset for the FOV, for example a "default" one and a "fist person view" one.
  19. Great gnac! I was looking exactly for that topic. It would be useful to add it to the section index, among the "useful threads".
  20. You can use a "trick". Create an empty lxf file, and use it to open LDD. LDD will open directly on the working area, and then you can open the model you want.
  21. Take a look at the LDD Reference Topic (Click).
  22. I had no doubt that the set was official, my doubt was related to Building Instructions, that seemed much less official. But it is difficult to say that cache.lego.com isn't surely a reliable source so... we can consider the model valid. Thanks, pbat!
  23. I'll try to answer to all these questions: Q: Are combined sets allowed in this topic? A: Yes, but only official models (provided in some way by TLG). As you can see in the index, there are other combined models available. Q: What about instructions of these models? A: Instruction have to be official. Official instructions are necessary to insert a set here. Q: What have I do in these cases? A: You have to provide a link that prove that the model is official. Besides, you have to link official instructions (both official PDF, Scans or Photo), because it is necessary to check that the set has been built using official instructions (a necessary requisite for this topic) For these sets, the burden to prove that it is official falls back on the builder. Q: I can't find adequate official sources to prove that my entry is suitable, what can I do? A: You can provide the built as an extra of one of the standard sets that compose it. Q: So, can I post thousand of combined models here? A: Aehm... wait a moment! These sets are more difficult to check and index, so one don't exaggerate! Besides it is ever preferable to provide standard sets before these more fancy entries. @Stephan legolijntje is right, it is not possible to consider an LPUB version of the instruction as official instructions. Can you provide something more.... official?
  24. Flickr, such as other image hosting sites like MocPages, have the problem that images are converted when you upload that. I suggest you to use one of the lego-related file hosting sites I suggested you, that have some advantages: - don't modify the images (LDD screenshot are maintained in lossless PNG format with alpha channel). - allows to host both images and lxf files. - allows hotlink of both images and lxf files. Inform me when you will fix your post, so that I can mark it as regular.
  25. A new builder! Welcome, Sir Brickalot. It seems there is some problem with the image, it doesn't appear in the post. The lxf file seems to have some problem too... I can download it but I can't open it (7zip returns me an error, the archive is not valid). Try using brickshelf or bricksafe to host your files. In the meantime I make some little fix to your post.
