  1. Classic space / futuron for me. The Castle line is good (and the last series already rebooted the KK-II series), Pirate has a good reboot few years ago, while I don't see nothing I really like about space long since.
  2. Like this set very much, and I think I'll buy it soon or later. Anyway, there are some choices I disapprove: stickers instead than printed bricks. too many large and specialized parts. it miss the large habitable environments typical of the Classic Space Ships that I love. I see that the first two points has been already highlighted in the review, but it seems that no one other than me feel the lack of large habitable environments.
  3. Are you sure? I think that the minimum buy is a datum stored in the table that contains the summary for the shops. In fact it is one of the data clearly showed when you search for an item, or you choose "Show All" page for your wanted list.
  4. I don't think it is a matter of specs, I run it on every time of old and Don't confuse compatibility with stability, these are very different things. Oh, was it a Joke? Jokes apart, I can suppose two theories: - You are trying to manage buildings to big for your hardware specifications. - Your computer have serious stability problems.
  5. The self promotion is not a problem, there are many developers here that have a topic where they introduce their software, insert news, answer questions. Maybe you will consider to use the first post of this topic to provide a summary of the software's features, important news and some screenshots? I've not understood a thing: do you release a software or you will offer the mosaic as a service (the client send you and image and you will send him the image, the instructions and the bricks)? If you will release the software, what are software and hardware requisites? System compatibilities? The software will be able to create images such as the one above?
  6. @Flobnomdob Very good post for a first entry! I only have to ask you a better crop for the image (look at the mzoli post above here as example). PS: the set is not huge but it is very "large", so you can choose a larger size for the image if you want. @marco9999 Same request for you too, it seems you forget to remove the the horizontal stripes from the image. EDIT: perfect, thanks!
  7. Here is an LPub Guide (you can find this and other useful topic in the Section Index). Maybe a moderator will move your request there.
  8. At the moment, the index is based on Bricklink categories, but you can use Brickset, if you prefer. About Brickshelf, you don't need to wait that your gallery is public, because brickset allows immediately available hotlinks and you have to provide a direct link both for the image and the lxf file. For any further question, contact me in private.
  9. Oh, yes, maybe the new ones have not been built yet. Note that the building instructions have to be officially released if you want that the set is accepted here (about 79116 I just checked, instructions are available on the LEGO website). If you think to contribute to this topic, don't forget to carefully read the rules in the first page and take a look at other regular entries as example.
  10. There are many Ninja Turtles sets, as you can see looking at the index, in the first page of this topic.
  11. There are various way to generate the Bricklink XML, unfortunately no one of them is officially provided by Bricklink. Generate the Bricklink XML is very useful because often I need to send my wanted lists to some friend when he decided to place an order, so he can order for me these bricks available from the shop he choose for his purchase. My favourite methods are: - use this script: it works very fine, but I've some difficulties with the last releases of firefox. - use this page: that allow me to easily create a list from a text file where I wrote space separated quantity, colour and brick-id. Example: "4 Black 3005" or "6 Light_Bluish_Gray 30162" (names of the colours are the same as bricklink and case sensitive and need undercore if composed by more words).
  12. Thanks, much better now! About the software: I read that Brick Wizard uses BrickStore and now BrickStock files. What about using bricklink XML to import lists? It is limited to US stores, that is very... limiting! Do you think about a global support too? I see from a screenshot above that you can decide how many shops to use for the order. Often users simply want to buy from less shops as possible, so what about an option to choose "less shops as possible with a reasonable total price"?
  13. Hi and welcome to Eurobricks and the digital forum. You could edit your first message and add some information, feture list and screenshots to introduce your software, and make this topic as reference for questions and issues. Thanks for sharing your work.
  14. Probably this is due to decorated bricks (and maybe some new brick, as Superkalle is waiting for the next fix to update LDD Manager). Mapping standard bricks require a lot of work, but mapping decorated bricks requires a lot more. You could use LDD Manager as basis, and then add manually decorated bricks. The conversion of part IDs is not so trivial.
  15. Ehehe thanks! But don't forget the LDD file! "Reverse engineering" from the lxfml file is very easy for simple assembly like mosaics, and there is a proper documentation.
  16. I was waiting for this software since you posted the wrong file for BrickUtils! I've a little feature request, that should be not too difficult to implement: generate the LXF and/or MPD file of the mosaic. It would be useful to create renderings without the need to recreate the mosaic in LDD and/or MLCAD ans similar software.
  17. Hi. Add parts and decals in LDD requires the hacking of the software, in violation of the LDD's EULA. You can read the position of Eurobricks about this in the "Section Rules" topic, one of the two pinned topics in this section.
  18. The image is still oversized. I converted it again in a text link, and fixed a bit the layout of your post (so you can take it as example for the future) PS: you can use brickshelf to share images too. We could say that choosing colours "as they appears" don't work. Every part has a precise colour code. There are various methods you can use to retrieve the correct colours, for example: - Start from an online inventory (like this one). Note that LEGO colour names are often different from names used by these websites, so you have to use a conversion table like this one or this one (you could find there inaccuracies anyway). - Use LDD Manager for colour conversion. - Use LDD Manager and create a custom brick palette starting from Bricklink inventories. - Use Brickset (replace the ElementID in the URL or use the search function of the website) to retrieve Design ID and Colour from the Element ID reported in the Build Instructions.
  19. Hi orionfrg, welcome in the LDD official set topic. To post en entry in this topic, you have to respect his rules. Your entry is irregular, and you should fix it. Please read the rules in the first page of this topic, and look at other regular entries as example. The main issues of your post are: The image is irregular. - It is oversized, the maximum size allowed is 512x pixel for big sets. In your case a 384x px is a good size. - Take the screenshot using the LDD integrated function (CTRL+K) to avoid that the grid is shown. - The image is not well cropped, remove all the borders around the subject. Set's data are not complete: theme info is missing, LDD version is missing. I can't see an inaccuracies list. You have to report errors. You used the attachment function to share the file. Use an external file hosting instead. Suggested services are BrickShelf or BrickSafe.
  20. If it is a L3B file, it means that you searched for it in the wrong topic: the LDD Official Sets topic contains only lxf files. Anyway, if you already know the design id, you simply have to insert it in the search box of the LDD palette: if you can't find anything, it means that the part is not in LDD.
  21. Prince Manic, JGW3000 Note that the entry of Wonko82 is irregular, and it seems that he have not purpose to fix it. So it will not be indexed. At this point, it would be a better choice that another builder will make his "brand new" entry from the scratch.
  22. Jdurg, some answer again: Agree. Exploit the side panel for decorations is one of the chances I listed in my requests. It is a long discussed question. The main problems are two: Decorations are not few and would require much disk space to store them (and time to create them). Besides custom decorations will make lxf files enjoyable only for those that would have the custom decoration installed. Otherwise include them in the lxf file could make the lxf files very large. It could be a good idea, at the moment decoration have an internal id code (you can see it opening the lxfml file). Same problems as the custom decorations, see above. Useful, but probably more complicated than add the missing part (I mean, in your example, add the flexible tubes with the needed length). Agree. At the moment it is possible to do something similar using other bricks as constraints and bending the flexible bricks one step at a time. PS: Note that about requesting new bricks/decorations there is a specific topic (you can find it in the section index).
  23. CopMike, you should use LDDManager to find the LEGO ID for this part. Anyway it is used in two sets, 8146 and the recent 42000. Check is at least one of these sets has been catalogued in the LDD Official Sets topic, and then retrieve the lxf file: if the part is present in LDD, you will find it there, otherwise you will find a replacement.
  24. Good news the number two: maybe I will be able to update now. About the first one, I hoped in a redesign of the palette (or a better organization at least). Anyway is it not a big issue, if a builder want a complete set of colours and bricks there is the extended mode.
  25. Hi Jdurg, some answers to your questions. LDD need a connection to place a brick. You can pose bricks only on the ground. Using scaffoldings as you did to place the doors is a common used technique. About collision, usually it is possible to fit gears in the right way, but it is not easy nor comfortable. You can freely rotate bricks using the rotation tool. The rotation need a pivot (another brick connected to the first one). I often use ball joints connected to a pivot in order to place a part as I want. You can use the integrated search function to get a brick starting from its elementid or designid. About having a list with the correct bricks in the correct colour and their count while you are using that, the solution is the custom palette feature (further informations about that here in this forum). Right click on a brick redefine the central point. Shift+Drag to pan the scene. A final comment: LDD is not perfect and needs many "trick" and tools to make advanced things. In this forum you will find many on these tricks and tools. Take a look at the section index. PS: I'm not sure this is the right place for this!
