Thanks! Does the files contains the decorations available in LDD through the Decoration Tool only, or you added the "hidden" decorations?

@Elog A little note about your entry: the image is a bit too "scattered". You should try to place subjects in a more compact way. @bublible I removed the image (and some extra text) from your quote. Note that in this topic images can't be quoted, only one image for each entry is allowed.

You don't need to be a moderator You simply have to gather MOCs from the respective sections and update the index. Maybe you will need to ask users to respect some rule when they will post in the topic. Nothing that requires to be more than a common user! Don't worry about that... my English is terrible too! (and probably our communication difficulties are not due only to you!)

It is quite common. Many articles and prepositions stays in 3 characters. Besides it helps to lighten the load on the server (the massive use of the search engine can be a problem for many websites). It was an hypothesis, anyway. It is the indexed topic I spoke you before. You can find main topic of this section looking at the Sectin Index (one of the pinned topics). I fear the answer is no. The MOC Index topic is a way to gather MOCs made with digital software where the CAD file is shared. That means that the important thing is the file containing the model, not the image. Obviously, if you want, you can show your MOCs with an hight quality render instead than a standard screenshot, but this is not the aim of that topic. If you think there is the need of a different kind of MOC topic, I suggest you to discuss about that with the staff. Maybe they decide that it is a good idea and let you to create and manage an indexed topic for that.

It is a known problem, already discussed in the topic related to the new brickset (maybe some moderator or regulator will move this discussion there). @JGW3000 A simple solution could be a scrollbar, or expandable categories. The chance to manually resize the panel could help too. I think that the best way is to use the sidebar for both colours and decorations, not only bricks, templates and groups.

RENDERING: visible parts connections
Calabar replied to ___'s topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
@bublible Thanks! Maybe (for future searches purpose) you can add the solution here or add a link to the guide when you will finish it! -
As reported in the Section Rules, you can find MOCs in proper Theme section. In this section there is a MOC Index topic that gather MOCs related to the digital section (and share the CAD file).

RENDERING: visible parts connections
Calabar replied to ___'s topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
And what about the solution, exactly? -
@AndyC I suggest you to avoid Dropbox, for two reasons: it proved itself as unreliable if you want to maintain stable links for a long time. it has a sort of "fake direct link" that deceive my download manager. The link appears as a direct link but it redirect to a download page. If you try to download it in other ways than clicking on it, the result is a corrupted download (a webpage is saved, but renamed as an lxf file).

LDD Official Sets UPGRADE Report
Calabar replied to Calabar's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Not remove, but distinguish! :) It is important to report all the updates, so that I can save updated models. But distinguish among models avoid me some work with the database. PS: provide a zippack as reported in the rules would save me a lot of work too! -
LDD Official Sets UPGRADE Report
Calabar replied to Calabar's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
As it seems that the message has not been received, I'll write it more clearly! Please clearly distinguish the set where LDD version is updated (that are interesting for the database) from those where only the brickset is updated. Thanks! -
Exporting .mpd Files To .3DS?
Calabar replied to Tolora's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Forum's attachment function is very limited. You could attach the file anyway, compressing it in zip format. If it is not too big at least. The best way to share a file is to use an external hosting service that allows hotlinks. Thre are two LEGO relates serveces I can suggest you: brickshelf and bricksafe. Note that you can use that only with contents related to lego. -
@Stephan Understood. I didn't noticed that brickset don't import parts where image is not available. Maybe someone that retrieve the previous link will be able to get the new link too.

LDD Official Sets UPGRADE Report
Calabar replied to Calabar's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
A little advice for everyone. Please clearly distinguish the set where LDD version is updated (that are interesting for the database) from those where only the brickset is updated. @Stephan Which 346? -

bbqqq few time ago noted that the limit is much more sensitive to polygon count than to brick's number. Baseplates foe example, with so many studs in sight, are very heavy for LDD. Anyway one thing is sure: LDD as it is now is not thought for large projects. Surely disable advanced graphics could help to You should use an external file hosting. For LEGO purpose, the most suitable are brickshelf and bricksafe, that allows direct link and can host any type of LEGO related files.

NEW LDD Brickset out - 1392
Calabar replied to Lyichir's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
About old parts, good thing for the magnet holders (m-tron sets incoming?), but other parts are large tires and bionicle parts whose I'm not much interested to. I hope that some other old part will peep out! -
Photoreal LEGO Rendering
Calabar replied to Renderbricks's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Dark Gray was right, this is an old version of the snowspeeder (dated about year 2000, maybe even the first series from 1999). Maybe the light gray is a bit too... brilliant. I recognize it because the frontal slope 4x2 with that decoration appears only in one set. Anyway, great design for such an old set. -
Photoreal LEGO Rendering
Calabar replied to Renderbricks's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
An uncommon machine then. I can suppose times 2/3 times greater on a good standard PC, unless the engine of MODO uses GPU acceleration (does it use?). It is a commercial software, isn't it? -
Photoreal LEGO Rendering
Calabar replied to Renderbricks's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I'm a bit curious... with PowRay rendering time in hight quality usually takes from hours to days! Which machine the software is running on? PS: you absolutely have to add "lego" logo on the studs! -
I've tried it now, and the lxf file is accessible without problems. Try again.
