Has anyone seen the bigger Monster Fighter sets at KMart on sale around Melbourne? The vampyre castle? -

Kmart Eastland Melb had some Monster Fighters on sale - werewolf $20, Mummy about $15 (sorry didn't notice as already had) and Black Lagoon (yeah can't remember the name) $9 ish. About 40% off RRP -
I love steampunk and this is perfect. Great job.

Wow. Sweet SNOTwork. Very clean form. Good job.
-
Wow. Brilliant rockwork and base. Great classic lego feel.
-
Wow. Fantatsic job! Love all the domes and curves - very 50's space age.

Thanks Artifex and B Rick. Check out 2x4's Flickr pics - they show how the tapering is achieved. I included an additional jumper plate on top (between the cockpit and adjacent to his jumper plate) to hold on the other red tile. It's rather squishy unfortunately. Look at the bottom on you will see the inverted wedges - the ends are connected by a 2X1 plate above 1 stud in from the nose end, a 3X1 plate midway along the nose (there is another hidden in the nose making the nose a solid truss) and a 4x1 plate at the cockpit (this is the joint between normal and angled bricks...)

This is very interesting. Straigh tracks for the narrow gauge system would be great. Print what they don't make! Brilliant!

Thanks for the detailed photoreview. This was very helpful and instrumental in me getting this set - bought two on sale for $50 Oz each so a decent price. It was a fun build but I'm not sure I'm that in love with the set. Does the train go though this? I mainly bought the set for the tan and rock peices, plus the slide. I have a bunch of narrow gauge slope and curve track and I have dreams of doing a larger version of Jabba's palace and Rancor Pit or a Disneyesque Big Thunder Mountain Railroad - so this set works well.

Based on 2x4's design. https://www.flickr.com/photos/-2x4-/4534121683/in/pool-828545@N23 I just love his design. Fraken Ace.

Bit late but hold onto your receipts - lego purchases of $60 and over gets you a free ticket to the lego movie http://legomoviepromotion.com.au/. Target, Big W, David Jones, Myer, Kmart, toys r us and Toyworld are in on it... this may be old news. Offer ends 12/4/14. I made the mistake of buying two $50 sets on consecutive sale days and can't seem to get a free ticket. D'oh! -

Re The Target Sale - with the Lone Ranger in clearance these sets are more than 50% off (at Donaster on Reynolds Road Melb VIc). Just bought the last two Silver Mine Shootout 79110 for $47.20 each - RRPoriginally $119. these have great rocks and landscape bits - Score. The town set - Collby City Showdown 79109 are about $40 (RRP $89.99) and there were two left I think. Nice for you town builders - same dark green and other tan and dark tan bits and peices. Admittedly these have been on sale for a while but they are worth picking up just for their peices! -
Wow. Lovely japanese anime style spaceship. I wish I could do all the angles and stuff like this!
-
Chuckle. Great scene. I just git the Jango ref. Love your work.

This is ace! I love the insectoid nature of this mech. My son would kill for something like this!
-
Yeah, I'm drooling over this steampunk stuff. I love the gun tower. But it's all great.
-
Wow. To be viewed in the round huh? Brilliant. Thanks for the sectional view - like seeing how a magic trick works.

That's a difficult base plate to work with - all those angles. Good job.

Love the "engines" old school technic! Great job. -
Noooooooooo!

Not overly fussed. I have been collecting mainly OT stuff but I do like EU figures for some reason. The aliens in particular. I figure they are good for mocs and to spice up OT. Whilst not lego the old Kenner mini rigs are EU and I always thought they were good play value with OT stuff as a kid. So OT with some EU seems like a good idea. It seems sad and repetitive to just do OT. The EU is so rich after all. Sigh does this mean theyll never do any Christmas Special sets? A Lumpy, Itchy and Lama figure would be great... Dammit.

Dig this MOC. Some nice use of the figures. The sewer is great (not crap ;) ) great job with the slime and water and knee deep gunk. I thought stormtroopers were renowned for their precision...

LOL... point taken. ;) The dome atop the cantina... a planet hemishpere? A bit dinky...

I'm pretty happy to see the hammerhead and another Twi'lek (with printed leki). And the Cantina looks perfect. I started late so this one is new for me. Also keen to see whant the Rebels Sabine figure looks like - female Madalorian. Undecided whether this is Flogging a Dead Fett.
