2015 City Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I'm guessing "snow blower" is a snow plow?

Could be a truck with a blower/thrower attachment instead of plow truck.

True, which might make MOCing other vehicles easier.

So Demolition vehicles for 2015? There not going to be overly busy seeing TLG hasn't brought out too many building in the CITY theme recently.

Maybe they are to be pulling down the older Police and Fire stations to make way for new ones?

Now with all the different sub-themes over the last three years I see a link to something.............A & E, Discovery and Nat Geo TV shows !

Look mining - at least two or three related shows, forestry - Axe Men, coast guard (fishing) Deadliest Catch plus a handful of other fishing reality shows, Arctic - Mountain Men among a few others similar........now demolition - at least two shows that have been on Nat Geo.

Lego designers seem to obtaining some of their ideas from reality TV.......not sure if that's a good idea or not eh ?

I see you logic here LT. How about Highway Thru Hell = Tow Truck!

Maybe with all the car related programmes on these channels we might get a new garage?

Hopefully the "snowblower" will be something like this. Possibly for the airport or for public works.

Would be nice to have like a airport snow blower and a airport runway cleaner . Lego should prepared for the new airport with the current airport fire truck , should also release a airport follow me car , catering truck , push back tow bear , luggage car and airport flying school !

More helicopters !!!! Ugh . How about a police Air Force with a parachute Hercules that has refueling system on the wings , so jet fighters and helicopters can refuel in mid air . That would be cool if we really want to push the police teem

If there are new customers for police sets every couple of years, why not change the color scheme from time to time? I really liked the dark blue of the special police forces and here is hope for anything else than white and bright blue. Anything, really...

I agree. I'm sick of Police EVERY year but if they are going to do that why not have different color systoles. It's why World City and the Forest Police were neat, they were different than the normal.

I used to have like every City set when they started coming out about 10 years ago. But every year of police, none of it special, and all of them having horrible Star Wars like pricing has pushed me to pretty much give up on 95% of City and spend my money on Friends.

Why can't we get a new Police Beach, or a Res-Q theme?

Friends has had far more useful pieces for layouts than the recent rounds of City. My latest MOCs have all had Friends themes in them because they are more in line with what is needed in a town in order to support the conceprt of police and fire.

I am a little disappointed to see that most of the predicted sets for City 2015 are vehicles! Where are the buildings? Lego has been concentrating so much on the fire and police that there is nothing to burn down or be robbed.

I am looking forward to the snowblower, though. Maybe it could go nicely with the Winter Village sets?

Still no more buildings, guess we'll have to wait for the summer line. Maybe one of the Deconstruction sets will be a city block with controlled demolition and will have the building that is being torn down and some normal buildings.

would be nice to have like a air force police that has a C130 with parachutes that leave on the back of the plane , or another great idea instead of the surveillance truck " that we got it twice in 2 years " would be a surveillance AWACS 707 with the big dish on top and the back of the plane could accommodate the crooks ! those would be some good ideas instead of another helicopter every year ........

Hopefully it's a red one so the blood isn't so obvious :)

What? Why are you looking at me like that? Be honest if you were a 9 year old boy the first thing that sucker will be throwing is dismembered minifig parts, like a scene out of Fargo. Lego City is a dangerous place to live. That's why they have all of the overwhelming Police and Fire services. (Although one can't escape the feeling that Lego City lacks the tax base to support them all. )

Hmmm? Thinking on it some more "Lego City" + "City Motors" = "Lego Motor City"! Dear gods Lego City IS Detroit! Those aren't huskies in the new sets... They're Rabid Wolves!

Lego Motor City........perfect for Lord Business to rule over !

I wonder if police and fire will go on a two year rotation.....two years police, then two year fire with other themes tossed into the mix ?

Thanks for the good laugh! :classic: Although we haven't had many hospitals in the past few years (only 2012 and 2006, I believe), so there isn't anywhere for victims to go!

Yes despite the modulars, we need more buildings. The situation with LEGO city vehicles is so critical now that there is a fire fighting fleet devoted to extinguishing burning police cars and the entire police department to chasing stolen fire trucks around.

I always wonder why Medical gets very little Lego love, when I was growing up, the closest thing to it was Res Q (though that is more air and sea rescue). Either healthcare is considered caring, and therefore "girly", or that it is more of a building based emergency service than the more on the scene based police and fire, so they have to stuff as much as possible into a single set, restricted by brick count.

So I think a possible solution would be to break down a proposed hospital set in to smaller, lower priced sets that form modules to create a much larger, uniform looking building (think how the lab in the Arctic Icebreaker set matches style and appearance to that of the main base), so you could have a main hospital building with a ward and reception/a doctor's office/an ER/A&E with ambulance/an operating theatre/a medical lab with X-Ray and MRI/helipad with medical helicopter.

They could even do the same thing with the much beloved police station with extra modules such as forensic labs, kennels, training academies and doughnut emporiums, allowing for more specialised constructions, larger complexes, fewer repeats and an end to the madness of police cars that don't even have room for an apprehended criminal, let alone a partner on the beat (what are the cops supposed to do? Take the crook back to the station on the public bus?).

The last trains came out in the summer wave of 2010, then a year later in the summer of 2011 an aditional train came out. I wonder if we'll get another aditional train this summer?

Heck the 2012 one wasn't even a real Hospital. It was at best a shady clinic where you pay your physician under the table in bootleg KreeO parts and more human organs came out then went in. But don't worry I am sure it is scheduled to be knocked down as soon as the 2015 Demolition Crew arrives. They will have to start demolishing everything. All the old condemed buildings. All the houses now used to push bricks of narcotics and hold Kragle snorting parties. All the abandoned business like that little bike shop and cafe that was run out of business by the roaving bands of rabid wolves.

Dear Lord... Lego City REALLY is Detroit. All that seems to be missing is some sort of Robo Cop Program. :sceptic:

*huh**oh2* I'm starting to see the appeal of moving over to the friends town! :look:

Well, I think you missed the 2014 trains then. See: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=93435

What I meant was, a year after 2010 trains came out, an additional train came out. Now the 2014 trains came out in the 2014 summer wave, so a year from now (summer 2015) we might get another additional train.

EDIT: Looking over product numbers, I noticed that the product numbers jump, leaving a gap of five missing numbers. Just like this year. Next year, 60065-60076 then it jumps to 60081-60088. This year, 60032-60036 then it jumps to 60041-60064. Gap of five missing product numbers each year.

Some ideas:

60069 Water Police might either be a huge police ship oder - more likey - a water police station.

60083 Snowblower won't be an airport set - otherwise it would have it already in its name (this year's fire truck was called "Airport Fire Truck"). So I bet it's a regular snow plow.

60088 Fire Starter Kit might include a regular fire truck (without ladder). And of course something burning and two minifigs. But what else?

60073 Truck breakdown might be a big truck with a huge container on it where you can put all the parts of the demolated house in.

What do you think?

I think :

60069 Water Police will be an update/redesign of either 6540 Pier Police from 1991 or 6598 Metro PD Station from 1996 and

60088 Fire starter kit depending on the price range will have a small station, smaller or same size as the station in set 7240 and have 1 Fire engine, 1 Rescue Van, 1 fire motorbike and something to go on fire!!

Just my thoughts
