Hoexbroe Posted July 6, 2012 Hi, I present you yet another piece of american 50´ies culture and history; The roof is semi-transparent. I think this could have happened in 1959, although it isnt exactly common... Thanks to the roof, the interior can be seen very well, almost as if the building had interior lighting; The MOC has a complete interior decoration; I want you to see teh kitchen, but it is very difficult to get a good shot of it; I still havent decided what name to put on the sign. Any suggestions¿?
CMP Posted July 6, 2012 I'm a sucker for 50s cafes, this is no exception. The sign and the details inside like the jukebox on the fruit tray really make the model, and I especially like the tripod antenna on top.
soccerkid6 Posted July 6, 2012 Nice diner! The hamburger sign is great I also like the railing on the stairs, and the booths inside. Very good work
L@go Posted July 6, 2012 It's gorgeous! The transparent roof is a very neat touch, and I love all the details - especially the interior. That jukebox is lovely :) and the two different shades of red work surprisingly well together. The awning and the diagonal pattern below the windows look great. A name? How about HoExpress Diner? :)
Combee Posted July 6, 2012 Nice build! I like that you put so many details into it: in particular I like the hamburger and the little coat rack
SilverSpyder Posted July 6, 2012 Very nice. Excellent detail work.

Captain Green Hair Posted July 6, 2012 How in the hell did you make that red/dark red stripe on the outside, is there some new slope I don't know about? Another brilliant model, can't wait to see it all together!
Hoexbroe Posted July 6, 2012 How in the hell did you make that red/dark red stripe on the outside, is there some new slope I don't know about? Another brilliant model, can't wait to see it all together! It´s a lot of 2x4 wedgeplates alternating.
RJtTunderous Posted July 6, 2012 I'd like to buy this :)
lightningtiger Posted July 6, 2012 Again you are in your "Happy Day's" vibe 'Hoexbroe' and it's the juke box that screams it....you only need the Fonz standing by it. Another AWESOME design packed with detail and action...this actually beats the gas station....but only just ! What's next ? Brick On in the 1950's 'Hoexbroe' ! Ferrik Posted July 6, 2012 That's an excellent classic-style diner! I like how well you detailed everything, especially the jukebox. I'm hoping to see more MOCs from you.
Vindicare Posted July 7, 2012 (edited) That's awesome! You really captured an old diner very well. The buildings shape is great and the glass roof was brilliant. The interior details are all there! The booths, the jukebox, fruit tray, pie case, stools, just great! I love that jukebox, are those custom chromed pieces? I don't recognize them... Ritz Brick Posted July 7, 2012 I can't even pick out one thing to compliment, the whole thing is just amazing. Well done.
Vincent Kessels Posted July 7, 2012 That is a very good looking diner! The outside looks great with that red and blue zig-zag stripe. The antenna tripod is a great detail. I am only missing a bit of sidewalk or street on the outside. The details on the inside are just fantastic! I really like the red benches. Regarding the name on the big sign, that depends on how you want to do it; sticker or brick build. I would keep it short like "Joe's".
Hoexbroe Posted July 7, 2012 Thanks to everybody! I'm a sucker for 50s cafes, this is no exception. The sign and the details inside like the jukebox on the fruit tray really make the model, and I especially like the tripod antenna on top. The jukebox is inspired by something I found on Misterzumbis Flickr-page (I think) That's awful...oh wait, no it isn't. Thaks. I think...?! I'd like to buy this :) Seriously¿? What's next ? Brick On in the 1950's 'Hoexbroe' ! Bus-station. Hotel. Cinema. Soda-shop. School... Lots to go! I love that jukebox, are those custom chromed pieces? I don't recognize them... They are original Lego-pieces from a Creator-set with a huge red helicopter with an ingienious motion-function...
gotoAndLego Posted July 7, 2012 Thaks. I think...?! ... I'm just being funny, I love it.
Hoexbroe Posted July 7, 2012 ...I am only missing a bit of sidewalk or street on the outside... Regarding the name on the big sign, that depends on how you want to do it; sticker or brick build. I would keep it short like "Joe's". Thanks. There will be sidewalk, as this is part of a bigger diorama. It´s sidewalsk is currently attached to the Union-76 petrol station, but I havent space enough to set it all up at the same time... This name with be a sticker, and yes; it´s better to keep it short.
