New Sets are out!

Recommended Posts

I'm up in Seattle at a Microsoft conference and right across the street from my hotel (Bellview, Washington) is a mall with a LEGO store. I went in and to my surprise I found:

Sail Barge 6210 $75

Star Destroyer 6211 $100

Fire Nation (Avatar ship of some kind) $50

Temple (another avatar set) $30

Mythical Creatures (looks really cool with a light up brick) $30

Motion power 4895 (has a new motor that I have not seen before) $50

Roadster 4896 (black car, pretty cool looking not Technic) $60

Three new spongebob sets (didn't really look at them)

A bunch of batman sets (including the batcave)

Of course, I bought the sail barge and star destroyer. Now I have to figure out how to get these home on the plane (the boxes are pretty big...)

Let me know if you have any specific questions and I'll try to answer them.

Sure. I get home Wednesday night and I'll post pics. I don't have my camera with me.

Unfortunatly some bad people has in the past made up rumors like this- it is not that I believe you want to sound special or something, it is just that you should start a thread like this when you have the pictures up and running, or people wont believe it, just a tip for not getting in trouble. ;-)

I can barely wait for the pics... *sweet*

I believe you, cause I saw that some other guy on Fbtb.net, who works at a Lego store said that they had just got the sets in. He even took some photos and put them in this folder(the folder is'nt public yet), atleast so he says.

EDIT: I managed to find the URL for some of the pictures. Here. This makes it very reliable.

Yep, that is one of the batman sets I saw.

I wish I had my camera with me, but I just wanted to post so people would know to call their local LEGO store. This guy was in Orlando and I'm in Seattle so obviously, they are nationwide.

I saw his post of FBTB too and it sounds like he's going to post pics of all the new sets. I just bought the sailbarge and star destroyer and will only have pics of those when I get back. There have already been a couple of reviews of the star destroyer so I will build the sailbarge first.

Anyway, check your local LEGO store (if you have one nearby) and see if they got the sets in.

Hey, exciting stuff!

Of course I believe you. There is a big difference between some new 11 year old member posting release

news in half-intelligible english for sets that aren't due to be released for 5 months, and a lonstanding EB member posting a sensible post with decent details. I'll look forward to the pics.

By the way, this bricklink seller in the US appears to have a number of these sets in the past few days:

http://www.bricklink.com/storeDetail.asp?b...t=6&storeDesc=D

Batcave, new airport, UCS batmobile, star destroyer, sail barge

I'm looking forward to this. Need some new sets to spice up my boring life!

Thanks for the news

I'm mostly surprised about the avatar sets... We all knew the sailbarge would soon follow the isd's release, and admiral Giddens reviewed a spongebob set, clearly as an element of the marketing campaign of Sponge, but it's been fairly quiet on avatar...

I guess you didn't buy those sets? It would have been nice to have good reviews of those sets...

I totally believe that !!

Since there are lots of new upcomming sets this year, its more than probable that TLC decided to release some sets earlyu to make "room" for the other themes as city/NTX/Vikings/...

Now let the race begin X-D ;-)

Review on !!

*yoda*

I searched alittle more through the folder and found the following pics:

Spongebob

Avatar

Batman

When so many things are coming out at the same time is it nice to have many reviewers, so we can have all the sets reviewed! :-)

Update:

The folder is now public. It contains some really interesting pics.

That is exactly what the store employee said. He said with the NTX, new trains and some other line (I guess either Viking and/or City) coming out in August, LEGO wanted to get these other sets on the shelf.

I searched alittle more through the folder and found the following pics:

I saw all those at the store in Seattle. Unfortunately, I'm travelling on business and only bought the Star Destroyer and Sailbarge. I wanted the Mythical Creatures, Motion Power and Roadster too, but I'm going to have a hard enough time just getting the two sets I bought into my carry on bag for the airplane. I can't wait to go through security... :'-(

Bummer that they didn't have any new Technic. I would have bought the new tow truck instead of the two star wars sets.

Motion power 4895 (has a new motor that I have not seen before) $50

It's the same motor that came with Motor Movers.

It's faster than the 9V motor, and fits in better with studless technic designs too. I love it :)

It is most likely to come out around August, and no one have seen pics yet. You could have answered this question yourself, if you had searched alittle around in the "Theater" section

Coolio. I kinda want to do the Avatar sets review, but probably won't get them first. I'll review them anyways....

Wow, that's pretty cool. I'm pretty amazed how loose lego has been on some releases this year, i think it's just a case of being in the right place at the right time.

Lucky! ;-)

Thanks for the info. I'm guessing the new Knights Kingdom sets aren't out yet, though.

Good luck fitting them onto the plane.

GAH!

Now I must resist so that I can save a bunch of money when TRU does their usual "Buy one get one half-off" sale around Christmas :P

I've managed to "hijack" a phone with a camera. I'm going to try to run back to the LEGO store on a break and take pics of the new sets. I'll look for KK sets.

Chris Giddens is an Ambassador. TLC sent him the Build-a-bob set to review it and see how it was.

Yes, they are. I went back to the store on a break and they had a bunch of KK sets. I have some pics but someone on FBTB put some up on brickshelf. Here is the link

Bricklink (from FBTB)

Enjoy!

Pardon my crappy 1 megapixel camera that I borrowed from a PDA, but here are a few photos (I only did the back of some boxes because someone already posted pics of the front elsewhere):

This is all the little bags in the ISD set that I have to just dump in my carry-on

Fortunately, the Sailbarge fits in my carry-on
