Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

The more I look at the leak, the more I feel like it might have been an old canceled set, even though I love it, the quality definitely isn't in line with modern sets, it reminds me more of the early superheroes waves. If that's the case, I just hope the survey shows there's demand for a set like that.

To me, it feels like a kinda sketch build just on a designer’s desk. Not remotely close to the part count listed or the level of detail we’d expect (even in most playsets, nowadays) so I’m feeling (/hoping) that it’s a proof of concept that will be iterated on for a release in… like holiday 2024? Maybe 2025? It’s by far the least developed of all the leaked sets.

I feel like all these sets have got to be something put together relatively quick just to give the person doing the survey a rough idea of what might be. I don’t think they would waste time building fleshed out sets just to find out people aren’t interested in them.

Nah, look at how detailed and massive some of these are. You don‘t design something like that in just a couple of days, this must at least take months! :classic: Sure, the X-Mansion looks pretty rough, but all the others look like they have a lot of work put into them

true, it is very strange that some sets seem ready for sale and others in an evident embryonic state.  if you ask a person who has no interest in the subject how much they would spend on an ugly house, the answer is obvious…

I would say that’s true for the X-Mansion, but for like, the Zelda set, it has specialised moulds and prints, so it looks far more complete.

If even one of these are real, it's likely they're all real.

That being said, as fake as the Xmen set appears to be (it has minifigs standing on the fence even, lol) the Simba set and the Rivendell set are probably real. If Rivendell was made by somebody purposely faking all of this, it's extremely unlikely a build that size would only be shared via this 'leaked survey'. Any lego fan is going to want to show that off.

On top of that, as others have pointed out before, including Rivendell would be an incredibly boneheaded move if this was all just a troll. Why purposefully include a set that will reveal the truth in less than a month? Had Rivendell not been included, we could’ve stayed in the dark for an entire year!

Not to mention that Rivendell literally releases in a month.

If it really was fake, it would be so much more convenient to just not include it.

The X-man mansion looking roughest fits with it being rumored for a later release date than the others.

I believe the leaks are real as well, but if it is somehow fake, the leaker's already got enough notority to make Mr. No and that last sirvonlego fake leak look like nothing in comparison. I've seen mainstream news articles about this leak.

We may not be their target audience.  I sure am not :-P However the images are still there?  no sniper?  threat?  intimidation?  this is suspicious.  Before lego shows top secret images without taking precautions.  the images leak and the legal department does not intervene… this thing continues to be strange

It's possible that some of these are concepts alone, a method of judging interest. The survey was apparently a question on how much people would be willing to pay, could mean that many of these are in varying stages of production with the X-Men Mansion looking the least finished. A lot of these they may have no intention of becoming actual sets, they could have seen the interest in an X-Men Mansion set and been considering it and used this method as a test platform to see if people would buy it using a quick mock-up of how the front of it would look and what figures they'd probably include.

Even if they started mass flagging places sharing the images it'd make no difference, the images have been in circulation enough for those curious to have found them and likely saved them, instead the reaction to a majority of these has been really positive such as with the Burrow, Simba, Snow White Cottage and Maleficent. In the occasion where the reaction was less than positive it's given them a hint towards how to change and alter things.

At least one of the leakers got a copyright strike. That should pretty much put to rest the idea that these are fake, right? I mean I could be wrong, but I don't know who would be able to do that other than Lego or one of the IP holders.

Mr. No

Wasn't Mr No right at the very end? Like he said we'd get Indiana Jones and Avatar sets and we did.

Like had he stayed a few more weeks without saying anything and he'd become even more notorious.

I don't think a copyright strike confirms that they're real. Even if a concept. it's LEGO's IP that they can protect, especially from clone companies. Also, it helps to set a precedent that LEGO will come after you if you share confidential images, regardless of what they show.

Oh, I don't necessarily mean they are coming, sorry if that's what it sounded like. I just mean I have seen some people still suggesting the possibility that these are high quality fakes, and I was more asking if that confirms that these are, in fact, from Lego themselves.

Those were probably lucky guesses, considering he also "leaked" a new medieval minidoll focused theme that was complete BS, and even gave a whole "i'm a fake leaker, ban me" villain monologue at the end there. Sucks, he was one of the few Dune fans around here.

Also, I'm glad you've brought my profile pic suggestion to fruition. It's more beautiful than I could have ever imagined.

Honestly, I don't think I'd get the X-mansion. I'm not saying they shouldn't do it, I think it's a good idea, I just personally want to see some smaller sets alongside it. Sentinal and Blackbird.

Gauging some interest in the X-mansion? Maybe Lego was spying on these message boards? LOL

Yes, Sentinel and Blackbird for me, too!

Honestly a large, detailed, X-Mansion with desirable, long-awaited minifgures would make my year!

I would love minifgures for Professor X, Jean Grey, Beast, Iceman, Rogue, Angel, Nightcrawler, Cable, Gambit, Shadowcat, Mystique, Sabretooth, Pyro, Toad, White Queen, Omega Red, Silver Samurai, and Mr Sinister; as well as bigfigs for Colossus, Juggernaut, Apocalypse, and the Blob.  The "LEGO Marvel Superheroes" videogame gave us character designs for most of these characters a decade ago!

These leaks are giving me hope that this theme will explore new ground - I do not need nor want another Hulkbuster or Quinjet

Oh, they definetly were, but I find very funny how 2/3 of his made up leaks were right. I only got to see him when he posted his manifesto so didn't know about the other one.

The only ones he guessed correctly were Avatar and Indy, which were both VERY obviously getting sets. Broken clock and all that

I have some secret insider knowledge too: CA:NWO and Thunderbolts will get sets! Incredible, right?! :poke:

Hey, Dune is pretty popular! I don’t know how well a LEGO theme would sell, but the recent two-part adaptation is excellent IMO and well-liked.

B2T: Still not sure what to make of that X-Mansion. Some of the minifigs shown here would be cool to get, but the model itself needs some serious work. If this was the only leak, I wouldn‘t believe it was real :laugh_hard:

Ah i remember that villain monologue, good times. A part of me misses him.

If Lego is still listening, put me down for all three. Heck. Put me down for The Marauder too while you're at it. I don't care if it's just a big white boat, I'm desperate for some X-Men.

Just not too small. The Blackbird really needs to be the size of the latest Quinjet in order to be able to seat a full team of X-Men.

I'd be disappointed if we got another under scaled set like the 2014 version that can only fit 2 or 3 characters.

If they do another Wolverine, what suit do you think they'd do? The one from the mech set might be out of print by the time this set gets made. It'd be cool if they did the X-mansion like the home alone house, but wouldn't mind an open back

Personally I would like to see a civilian version like the outfit from the first x-men movie with the brown jacket and yellow stripes plus white shirt and ID tag (it does require arm printing to really pull it off though). Or even only just the white shirt with ID tag would be nice. Even though those are rather easy to make purist figures of. One of his Black Outfits like the battle outfit from the first movie, evolution season 3 (could even use the utility belt piece in black) and x-force would be nice as well. Not to mention whatever he'll end up looking in deadpool 3.
