Thank you all very much for the news! :classic:

Before I'll post my detailed opinions, here's my rating of my TOP 5 best City sets of the first half of 2022:

1. 60326 Picnic in the Park

2. 60324 Mobile Crane

3. 60330 Hospital

4. 60351 Rocket Launch Center

5. 60319 Fire Rescue & Police Chase

And the worst set is imo 60329 School Day - I was so much looking forward to this set, but TLG did mess it completely up.

Which are your tops and flops?

Here's my opinion about the first half of 2022 civilian sets (Great Vehicles will come seperately):

60328 Beach Lifeguard Station

Con:

- road plate doesn't fit there (a tan "road plate" would have been better)

Pro:

+ good price ratio performance

+ perfect minifigure selection

+ great new torso prints

+ lifeguard post has a small inside office with interior, too

+ ice cream cart looks neat

+ nice landscape

+ turtle included

60329 School Day

Pro:

+ perfect minifigure selection

+ great new torso prints

+ first time in the City theme that we get a school

+ small school yard with climbing wall included

+ very detailed interior

Con:

- bad price ratio performance (40 Euros would have been the correct price)

- outside of the school bus is too short concerning its length

- school bus without car doors on its sides

- inside of the school bus fits only the driver, one "regular" pupil and one with wheelchair

- "bus station" is a bad joke and lacks simply everything (it neede much more depth, a grey floor and bench, dustbin and timetable)

- school has no roof

- school lacks a wall on the right side on the second floor

- band equipment and painting equipment directly behind the entrance doesn't make sense and looks bad (a small kiosk and a bench would have fitted well)

- on the second floor there's room for only two pupils

60330 Hospital

Con:

- a bit expensive (80 Euros would have been fitting)

- helicopter looks ugly with the massive skids

- very hard to play inside (removable roofs would have been good)

- ambulance car without car doors on its sides

- inside of the ambulance car doesn't offer any equipment (even not as stickers) as well as any seat for a paramedic to examine the injured person

- outside of the ambulance car is too short concerning its length

Pro:

+ perfect minifigure selection

+ great new torso prints

+ completley new and awesome looking architectual design

+ most rooms are completely different to the last hospital

+ very detailed interior

I can recommend the hospital. That was a very nice build and it felt like an actual building.

It doesn’t fit into my city style. I’m just going to use the parts from it.

Police and Fire sets are still far from satisfactory. I am expecting the rocket launch center

I wonder what the summer sets will be.

Looks like some "repeats" on those City magazine gifts (like the red bike & police car from 2019 back in 2022,, and 2020/2021 had a very similar white police bike as well)

No pizza included in this red bike tho

Police and Fire sets are improving this year, but still far from satisfactory,

School Day, Beach Lifeguard Station, Hospital and Horse transporter rank the top of this year

Oh same here. But I like to buy and build anyway, and then use it for parts and stickers like you said.

I will always hope for more Farm sets and animals. I'm like a City llama.

I'm also hoping for actual Train sets. Like a station and a crossing and maybe a cargo loading area. With the new road plates I'm optimistic.

I'm going to start collecting older sets again. Maybe I'll find the 2009 farm set into there.

New Foil Pack

The 952202 product that comes out in February feels a bit disappointing.

This years releases are impressive for the breadth of subject matter. New Police Station, fire station, hospital, school, factory fire and the crooks hideout.

Where this wave feels a little lacking is in the vehicles. They feel very crude in some cases. Very blocky. For example while the schoolbus feels too short, the nose also lacks some basic shaping that make it look wrong. Where sets from last year were doing this easily.

Nope, Police and Fire sets are improving, but still far from satisfactory, compared to those appeared in 80s or 90s

Well looks like summer will be exciting!

A new farm subtheme with nice sets, a grocery store, trains will come back, Stuntz too and on top of that we are having some weird sets called "mission"

I don't know how it'll be but Promobricks may do an article showing the full list as there are 3 sets missing and one of them is supposed to be big

And I think that 60344 might bring chickens! @LCP thanks for the information!

You're welcome. On Instagram today, information on Lego products scheduled to be released in the summer of 2022 suddenly became known through a site. Just in case, I got the result of searching for the city number.
