10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
Jiesdeo replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I got a message from Lego.com about my shipment being prepared, but the message made it sound like it was being shipped from North America. I'm in Sweden so that feels a bit weird.- 2272 replies

Yeah I would assume so. Which is sad, it was nice to get something else than the standard police- and fire stations. The set was underwhelming though, maybe kids thought so too. -

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
Jiesdeo replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
If including more female minifigs in sets increases the chances of girls getting interested in regular Lego sets as well instead of just Friends, then I gladly compromise on historical accuracy. Otherwise, I agree with the sentiment that a toy doesn't have to be historically accurate.- 2272 replies

Lego City 2022 Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion
Jiesdeo replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Yes. If these are to replace the people packs, I specifically object to the notion that they are connected to themes (uniformed themes in particular). The over-saturation of uniformed minifigures is bad as it is right now. People packs should be a way to populate your city with other minifigs than uniformed figures. -

If that's the case I think it would be a shame. What appealed to me about the People Packs were that you got a nice variety of normal folks, not police, firemen etc. Regular citizens are so rare in sets overall. I already have too many Wildlife Rescue torsos and Police torsos anyway. -
My guess is somewhere around those lines too. Lego suggests sets based on available parts in stock and they then gauge the interest among the VIP-customers. If enough members are interested, they produce the set.

Does it have one and a half cannon?
-
Yes, we've leaned not to get too carried away. Still, polybags is a bit pessimistic. There was talk of some kind of vote. Maybe Lego took inspiration from the Bricklink Designer program and when the amount of votes for a set reaches a critical mass, it is deemed profitable enough to produce a new version of the set.
-
There was a survey about a new type of VIP service where you can pay a monthly subscription and one of the perks was the ability to buy retired sets. I don't think polybags is a big enough draw for a paid subscription service and Lego has talked about re-releasing old sets again, I think they said if 50% of the parts already is in production.
