[Cor Dec FB2] Boat Yard, Myzectlan

Recommended Posts

On a small island on Lake Myzec, a group of specialist craftspeople make dugout boats to service the lake. Huge logs are floated to the island, where the workers shape them into vessels. The finished products then service the 'floating islands' or chinampas which provide the Myzec with their harvest.

Another Myzec build. My willows were a bit thin and straggly last time so I borrowed a technique from @Elostirion which ingeniously uses the Technic Axle Connector Hub with 4 bars to support the vertical leaves. The dugout is a modified version of a native canoe built by @Bregir . The build will be licensed as a factory. It was a bit of a toss up between factory and artisan, but I figure opportunities for factories in a Aztec inspired city are going to be pretty restricted... so that tipped the balance in favour of a factory!

Poor guard, looks like he wants to be in on the boat building!   This is a great little vig, effective use of tiles to show the trampled ground.  I only wish there were a few transparent tiles on the floor to give the boat and dock a bit of context.  But the sparse trees look surprisingly good in this setting!

Wonderful scene with a great colourchoice. The base is wonderful, as is the canoe.

I think I like your sparse trees even more than mine.

Also clever use of the triangular brown brick leaning to the wall.

Beautiful build, a clean and simple depiction of the production process. Well done!

I always consider artisans to be more of a "production and sale" sort of property (I think it is called "artisan's [sic] shop" for a reason here). Also the factories definition describes it as " a production facility [...] where raw materials are brought to in order to produce a manufactured product" - a perfect fit for this build in my opinion. :classic:

Neat build, I like the roundish platform, very detailed, the trees look good, so does the canoe.
