'<Ooh, well isn't this just peachy. Heheh. Boy oh boy, weird coincidence. Northern necromancers and vampire mages. Hmm. Doesn't bode well for master. Heroes! Quit playing with your food, heh. I think we have some work to do.>'

Hoke scowled slightly at the cat's banter. For some reason, he didn't believe it was some 'coincidence.'

I'm just going to take that as a sign the other team is doing their job. I fire at G from the back. Let's just hurry up with ours.

"Ugh." Erik gets knocked off his feet by the honour guard's sword hitting his armour.

"You guys can finish him off, right?" He equips his Barbarian Boots in place of his Dog Fur Coat.

dual strike should have done a bunch of damage to the guard.

Guts repeats, same battle order.

"Shoo, cat. No one likes talking creatures with unclear loyalties who come in at certain times to describe the goings on. Away with you."

dual strike should have done a bunch of damage to the guard.

Dual strike affects one enemy twice or the next enemy in order, and there was no next enemy in order.

I'll round the rounds first thing tomorrow.

In the past I've always seen it work that the first enemy would be targetted, but I'm not fussed either way.

Erik climbs back to his feet, and peers down at Henry. He doesn't recognize the cadet from their brief encounter on the Magpie a year or so before, especially in the fancy armour.

Straightening up, his eyes flit around the rest of the room, first glancing at Hoke, then Guts, then at the pile of Vampire Dust.

He looks around for Mizuki, but is distracted when he sees the cat.

"Did you say you wanted us going somewhere particular now, or shall we check the Lookout Tower and then the Laboratory?"

After an unexplainable pause, Hoke finishes looking over Torc.

"Since we lack a healer, I need a few more potions for Torc if you could," he says to Guts.

Hearing the Bonapartes beginning to stir, and the armored one mumble something, Hoke heads over to them and squats down beside the armored Bonaparte.

"What happened here?" he asks the guard.

Hybros watches as Dyric continues to efficiently take down the Eathwyrms. He grips the end of his scythe, the elegantly-shaped handle extending far out in front of him and the blade curving wickedly at the end. The weapon was almost twice as tall as the imp, but the material that made up Zoot's Reaper was lightweight yet strong. Hybros swung the weapon in a wide arc, ensuring that the blow would connect with the enemy. Even deadlier, the venom that he infused with the blade caused a faint crimson glow to emanate in the dim torchlight. The darkness was no problem for him - ages spent in Azazot had given his people several advantages, including the ability to see well in darkness.

Hybros repeats.

Battle Order:

Illdria

Dyric

Thalion

Em

Hybros

Hybos

Guts smirks but hands 5 potions to Hoke. "Perhaps now is the time for that remedy, Hoke. If they ask, we're here to save them from the undead threat and not to liberate them from any impounded vessels."

Guts hands the Vampire dust and 10 gp to Erik, The Phoenix essence and 100 gp to Hoke, the Frost and Toxin Bombs as well as 100 gp to Mizuki and the Electro and Sand Bombs he keeps for himself.

"If Hybros wants to divide the loot differently, I expect you to follow that, but don't worry about using the things you got."

"Thanks."

Hoke takes the potions and uses them on Torc.

CMP - Did you count the +3 SP from the Flagpole to the entire party, including Torc?

Erik uses his Ethereal Cloak to sweep the Vampire Dust into lines on the floor and snorts it.

"That'll teach you" Woah "To mess with Heroes."

He stands up again and blinks a few times. "Woah."

"Strong stuff, ain't it ?" Mizuki remarks as she sees Erik snort the Vampire Dust. "Wonder if there'll be anymore Bonapartes like this."

Erik twitches and laughs. "Yeah. Perhaps. I don't think they're running this place anymore, though."

"Did you say you wanted us going somewhere particular now, or shall we check the Lookout Tower and then the Laboratory?"

'<Heh, no, just poking you guys. I'm just saying as you should well be aware by now things aren't what we anticipated here.>' Omen licked his paw as he eyed the corpses.

"What happened here?" he asks the guard.

15152438708_e96c7b4d48_t.jpg

"Huh? I don't....remember." The Bonaparte frowns and blinks. "Everything's....fuzzy. For a long time. Gods, I'm hungry...the Rear Admiral introduced us to some new officers...except they looked different. Like...oh, hey, there's one of them." He points at Malkoth."Then things started getting blurry."

17066900886_3eb34fb359_t.jpg

"...Right...right, and they said Joel was getting....resistant? I'm not sure what about...they gave me an order, I don't recall what-"

17091358932_836879a5c2_t.jpg

"Oh, gods!" yelps one of them loudly, standing and nearly jumping backward into a wall when he notices the corpses on the cots. "Joel! Shit, is that West, too? Who could've-??"

16905304020_2da4543d8c_t.jpg

"Calm the hell down, Abe." The bomber frowned and examined the bodies. "Killed in their beds. Looks like they were taken by surprise."

Terrin's face goes white.

17066900886_3eb34fb359_t.jpg

"Wait...they said Joel was getting resistant. Then...I remember now. They said some of them were too much trouble. They weren't as easy as us, whatever that means. They ordered me to-"

16472710423_3f29373387_t.jpg

"Dude, you killed Joel??"

17066900886_3eb34fb359_t.jpg

"I had no idea what I was doing!"

17091358732_b886ce919c_t.jpg

"That's-...oh, no...West, I didn't-...damn it. Damn it!"

The Bonapartes break out into a fit of arguing, yelling, mourning, and panicking. What would the heroes do?

"What exactly do you know? What are you not telling us?"

Hoke pounds the butt of the Flagpole on the wooden floor.

"Bonapartes! One at a time. If there is danger here, it's best we act quickly, so that your fellows safety can be assured, and the devils that did this can be sent back to the hell from which they came."

'<Heh, no, just poking you guys. I'm just saying as you should well be aware by now things aren't what we anticipated here.>' Omen licked his paw as he eyed the corpses.

"Yeah. I don't know why the not-Bonapartes would keep the crew prisoners, but if they don't need them alive they'll be dead already anyway."

He starts to feel sad as he imagines Zasies dead, but due to the short-term effects of the Vampire Dust and the drain of all the magic he's used, he is again quickly distracted, this time when he sees that Hoke has woken up the Bonapartes.

Running over, he fumbles out the Peacekeepers Totem and opens his helmet's visor, but decides to leave most of the talking to Hoke.

Not zombies, then.

He looks at Terrin, a bit guiltily after having had so much fun hitting him earlier, and puts his hand on the kid's shoulder. Hearing Reina speak, he drops the Totem to the floor, then reaches out to put the now-free hand on her shoulder as well.

"Some kind of mind control. It was the mage who killed your friends, not you." He says diplomatically. "Now listen to the shiny man."

He bends down to pick up the Peacekeepers Totem and put it away, straightens the Heavy Armour, Dog Fur Cloak and Lucky Die he has equipped, and wipes some Vampire Dust from under his nose.

Not actually changing any equipment, Pie, I just need to boldly say these things so Erik can use Diplomacy.

Sorry, I meant to run this round a bit later than the other group's post but internet problems kept me from getting on all of earlier today. I didn't even have time to look up Hybros' mixture.
